The wait was the ONLY good thing about this location. There is an older black lady at the front desk who is just mean. No people skills what so ever! I answered her questions cordially, as she continued to bark more orders. She didn't even look up to speak with me. Probably the worst customer service experience I have even had! The phlebotomist, however; was a gem! She poked me once and I didn't even feel the pain I typically feel when giving blood! I hope she finds a new job, because the Labcorp location is horrible and no place for someone like her who truly loves what she does!

We got to the location about 10 minutes before our scheduled time. They did not call us back until about 30 minutes after our appointment time. No they were not terribly busy when we got there as all of the staff were gossiping about their reviews (ironically) in the office area. We were finally called to a room where we waited for an additional 15 minutes and three different people came into our room checked our paperwork and then left. It seemed like hot potato because no one wanted to work with our kiddo. Finally a woman named Shaniquia (unsure of the spelling) came in and she was nice enough but the actual stick went horribly wrong. She didn't really prep my kid before sticking him and it scared him to death and he wiggled and blood went absolutely everywhere. My husband and I ended up needing to help secure our son to finish the blood draw but this was so traumatic and I am terrified to know how this will affect our kid for future doctor visits.

On one occasion, patients waited for 25 minutes, leading one to leave.My attempt to address this with Regional Director Nicole Gray was not productive. Andrea returned from the back with her supervisor on speakerphone and, seemingly unfazed by the situation, exhibited unprofessional and rude behavior, including a dismissive verbalization of "I Don't Care!!!". This type of response is unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting.I am also troubled by the handling of previous issues. I was informed that Nadine, who consistently demonstrated politeness, professionalism, and courtesy, was to receive an award. However, she was removed from this location and, to my knowledge, did not receive the promised recognition.Furthermore, my attempts to contact corporate have gone unanswered for several weeks. A separate, serious concern involves unsanitary practices at the LabCorp Catonsville location, where phlebotomists' extremely long hair extensions are allowed to come into contact with patients' arms.To resolve these issues, I propose the following:Immediate attention to Andrea's patient interaction skills, including training and clear expectations for professional conduct.Clarification regarding Nadine's departure and the status of her promised award.A prompt response from corporate regarding my previous communication.A review of hygiene protocols at the LabCorp Catonsville location, with immediate correction of the hair-related issue. I have visited this lab three times. The first two experiences were disappointing, but I decided to give it one more chance. Unfortunately, the third visit confirmed that I will not be returning. I arrived before the lab opened and was behind eight or nine people already waiting in line. When the doors opened, a staff member collected everyone's driver's licenses, and we were instructed to take a seat. Shortly afterward, additional patients arrived and checked in using the self-service kiosk. I waited 50 minutes while watching four patients who arrived after me--and checked in at the kiosk--get called before I was. When I could no longer wait, I went to the front desk to retrieve my driver's license and asked how patients were prioritized. I was told that patients are seen based on the time they check in. Apparently, those of us who handed our licenses to the staff member at the door were not actually checked in at that time, placing us at a disadvantage compared with patients who arrived later and used the kiosk themselves. The check-in process is confusing and unfair, the waiting room is small and overcrowded, and the order in which patients are seen appears inequitable. In addition, one of the phlebotomists has been consistently so unpleasant that I find myself hoping I won't be assigned to her. After more than 30 years as a Johns Hopkins patient, I expected a much better experience. Fortunately, I have other options for laboratory services, and I will be using them in the future.

This location is…read moreconveniently located inside of the Columbia Medical Center neat Howard County General Hospital. There is always plenty of parking at the building. They take walk ins but I highly recommend making an appointment so you won't have to wait. I have an online account so made my appointment there. The check in process is done on a tablet right by the front counter. All you have to do is put your phone number in then scan your drivers license and insurance card. After checking in I only had to wait two minutes then I was taken into the back to have my blood drawn, the phlebotomist was professional and friendly. She completed the process painlessly. The whole time I spent in the office was less than 10 minutes. Great experience that's why I will continue to come back.

I'm not going to say I was looking forward to or eager to give blood, but I'd signed up for a…read morespecific time (1:45pm), as required, and arrived in advance of my appointment. Only to find after I'd been sitting there 15 minutes already that the blood procurement team was delayed AT LEAST 30 minutes. I found this particularly frustrating as I had left work to donate, but I stuck it out since I was already there. Luckily when I was called back, the Red Cross person helping me fill out online forms was nice and processed me through quickly. She also set me up comfortably to have my blood withdrawn. She was able to find my vein and poke me with little pain nor fanfare. This whole process took maybe 20-30 minutes and wasn't bad - I just surfed on my phone. So overall, all the Red Cross folk I interacted with were great, but the time management was lacking. I will, of course, continue to give blood, however, next time I schedule an appointment, it will be first thing in the morning, not at 1:45pm on a workday.
