As dismayed as I was to hear that Peacehealth sold their labs to Quest Diagnostics, I was hopeful…read morethat the efficient, cheerful, accurate services previously performed by Peacehealth would carry over to Quest. Um, nope. Not even close. A few weeks ago a loved one needed a "stat" blood test to see if a serious infection might be present. Because his doctor's office was right across the street from Quest's location in the "Bunker Building" outside the hospital, we walked right over for a blood draw. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Even though there were only two other patients present in the waiting room on this weekday afternoon, we waited for over an hour for this blood draw. But that wasn't the worst of it. The test was supposed to be run right away, so that we could make a decision about the severity of my loved one's symptoms. In fact, there was a chance that hospitalization might be required depending on the outcome. Our physician assured us that as soon as she heard back from Quest she would contact us, and that at most it would be three hours. So we headed home and waited for her call. FOUR hours later, she called. She was very dismayed. After trying several times to get ahold of Quest, she found out they had "accidentally" sent my loved one's STAT blood test to Seattle. Apparently, instead of blood tests being run locally as they were when Peacehealth ran the lab, Quest sends the blood to their main facility in Seattle. But stat labs are supposed to stay and be run in Bellingham. This was a huge oops, with potentially life-threatening consequences. We waited several more anxious hours until his blood was located and the test was run - in fact the call from our doctor did not come until well after midnight. For a "stat" test that had been ordered before 4pm. I absolutely will do everything in my power not to use Quest labs if at all possible. I can only hope other peoples' lives aren't being put in danger by their poor service.

actually zero or minus stars would be more accurate. just like all other quest locations in…read morebellingham, yelpers consistently give them poor reviews, and quest headoffice consistently does nothing about it. they make a mockery of the word 'health' in healthcare workers, and all other healthcare workers should insist on these terrible people in this terrible 'monopoly' being classified just as 'workers' -people who just do a job, don't care about you and are quite happy to be like that. i made an appointment on line 3 days ago, for 130pm today. i arrived and logged in at 1pm (this quest closes from 12 - 1230 so i knew they wouldn't be backed up with patients yet)... but stefanie left the building while i was sitting there, and her super sleepy looking low energy, unfriendly male companion managed to do 2 patients between 1 and 1.30pm, stefanie returns, takes her time and 1.40pm calls someone else (all the people in the waiting room arrived after me). i challenged her about that seeing as i had an appointment - she lied straight to my face saying they were backed up with patients and i will have to wait. yikes. that's how quest trains their uncaring staff? as i said, by all the other reviews of quest locations in bellingham having poor reviews, you can expect the worst (or prolly better to have zero expectations coz they will do their best to destroy an positive expectations you may have). if a competitor opens up in bellingham, there will be masses of people who will change to them, because quest really sucks at pretending to be caring - they are a health UNCARING organization.

The Birchwood person is excellent but if you are out of their hospital network to get your tests…read morecan be difficult.
