I did not want to go the ER for it because it wasn't serious enough for me to be taking a spot when apparently they only have one hospital in the city. But it was still severe enough that I needed to be seen. I was on hold for twenty minutes. I finally got an appointment and came in as a new patient. Two hours later. The Assistant "Teri" was extremely rude and condescending and acted like I was wasting everyone's time by being there. Did I not know how to contact one of the urgent care clinics (I did see after that they had these but not open til 1pm). Did I not know that I could get Azo at any drug store? From what I understand this is just to help with the discomfort but doesn't exactly treat anything. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't know. But I wonder why people go into this line of work if they just diminish your reason for being there?

Lisa is incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely kind, and always honest. She takes the time to listen and explain things clearly, which makes every appointment feel supportive and thorough. The staff here is terrific as well from the friendly reception team to the nurses who do vitals, and the lab staff who keep everything running smoothly. I consistently feel well cared for from start to finish. The clinic is easy to access and there's plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. Overall, this is a place that truly values their patients. While I try to downplay these appointments (having had them every three years!), they're never exactly fun and yet your team consistently makes the entire process feel comfortable and reassuring. From the kind receptionist who patiently explained the paperwork, to Mary in pre-op who took the time to walk me through everything and put me at ease, to the nurses who cared for me so warmly and seamlessly every interaction reflected genuine kindness. Even with so many patients moving through each day, your office never feels impersonal. That really stands out. I especially appreciated my doctor checking in multiple times to reintroduce himself and make sure I felt informed and comfortable. Thank you all for the compassion and professionalism you show. My MD, Jason Short, was a good enough guy, but I can no longer abide with the ridiculous wait times at this location. Today, I was scheduled for a 2:50 appt, they took be back around 3:05, and I was still sitting in the exam room waiting for a physician at 3:50. This is completely unacceptable. I understand that physicians get behind for a myriad of reasons, but if they are running late, the office should give you a call and let you know so you have the option to reschedule. This is not a unique circumstance, although it is the longest. I have been made to wait for inordinately long periods of time many times over the years. No longer. I do not recommend NSFM. It seems as though they are more focused on patient volume than patient satisfaction.

Having largely sworn off western medicine for most of my adult life, I found the route of naturopathy to be more in alignment with healthcare, as in caring for peoples health. The holistic route. Having been physically active my life, when my body started behaving differently, I was not happy with the change. I was even less happy with the fact that no one in my western medicine community took my concerns seriously. Big hospitals and doctors that came highly recommended failed me time after time. Having moved to a new community and not having made new healthcare connections, I was in a place to start looking at starting over. Basically firing my fancy doctor and looking for a great doctor within the BIPOC Community. It was during this process that I learned about Bonnie and her work. I had never been to someone practicing functional medicine. Oddly, I don't even think I've ever researched down that path. But she came highly recommended and she accepts my insurance so I made an appointment. My initial appointment with Bonnie was very reminiscent of visits with former naturopath. Her approach is thoughtful and holistic. Her questioning was good and relevant and careful and inquisitive. She not only listened, but she heard what I was saying about my concerns - she tracked what I was saying, and asked questions to dive deeper. She ordered bloodwork that I needed to start getting answers. Bloodwork that I wasn't able to get from others because they wouldn't listen to me. Because she listened and was proactive, I'm now on a path of Collecting information that will tell a story. With that story will come actual health care. If you're feeling like you're not being heard and you're tired of getting blown off by providers with fancy titles doling out shitty care, check out functional medicine and Bonnie Sprague.

I would describe Bonnie's style as old-school...the most amazing thing about Bonnie, is not her years of experience, quaint office with easy parking and convenient location, highly professional staff..Sandra is a gem !! But the fact that Bonnie LISTENS!! Yep!! She truly does!! She actually takes the time to sit down and make sure she understands exactly what YOUR concerns are. I so appreciate this woman and her impeccable skills, judgment on numerous issues at this point. I would be lost without her! If you are reading this and liking what I am telling you, please let's keep it between us as we don't want her to turn into a doc-in-the-box kind office with plastic people and their artificial smiles as they swipe your card.. I have been consistently surprised and delighted by the quality of care and providers here. We have seen Dr Elkayam in the past and Dr Andrews the last couple times. I feel well informed, HEARD and worked WITH for pediatric food allergies. I feel that they are progressive and very experienced. Today my 4.5yo passed his first oral food challenge in the office to peanuts. I was on the verge of a panic attack upon arrival. ... They had tablets, movies, trains, comfortable chairs, incredibly kind and skilled nurses and staff. I just am so grateful for my son to be in their care. Thank you!!!
