Horrible customer service from the scheduling department. The lack of care or concern on their part was mind blowing. This is the first negative review I have ever left for any business. At first, I thought that it could have been just a bad day for that employee. I asked to speak to a manager, who seem to have cared a little more, after I mentioned that I would be documenting my experience. Three days go by and I call again speaking to a different receptionist. Again, that employee could have cared less and had no concern of what I was speaking to them about. If I were someone reading reviews, looking for a place they can trust, I would avoid this location at all cost. The care is great at Mt Baker Imaging and the staff are all very nice! The billing dept is horrible. I recently called because I received a normal bill from Mt Baker as I have been making monthly payments. I also got a bill from a collection agency! Even though I have been making payments, they sent me to a collection agency without my knowledge! I was completely shocked and I called Mt Baker. The girl I spoke with told me she could not help me. I just received notice from them that they had a massive data breach (all possible sensitive data) in Jan 2025. They waited 10 MONTHS to notify me that my data was compromised. This explains all the phishing emails and calls I have been receiving. Why would I trust them with my health if they can't be responsible enough to notify patients of a data breach IMMEDIATELY. If you were ever a patient there, it appears your data was compromised as well. Shame on them. read more

After years of seamless service, the billing department has apparently stopped sending itemized statements in the mail. They DID manage to have a collection agency contact me by mail re an overdue balance for which I was unaware. When l called the billing department for clarification, they denied any knowledge of the situation. Watch out folks, not a good way to do business. read more

I have been going to MBI for 15 years for various imaging. But no more. An ultrasound was ordered for me for abdominal pain. Riley, the technician was super kind, gentle, thorough and professional. She quickly took me back to the room when it was my time and talked me through the whole process to put me at ease. I have had a lot of bad experiences with Mt Baker Imaging but she was special and exceptional. She is a great ultrasound technician. I'm only giving MBI 3 stars because of her. Otherwise it's a 1 star! The receptionists have always been nice and it is a quick check-in. Aside from this, scheduling can be a chore. Sometimes the technicians are late for the appointment time. I wonder if they are overworked and overbooked. The mammograms always seem to be difficult and require multiple imaging and appointments. One mammogram technician in particular I have had twice and she rushed me and talked over me multiple times. She doesn't pause to let me answer her questions. What's the point in asking me questions if you don't bother listening? I've talked to a couple of the managers because of issues recently because after 15 years I'm tired and they seem like they just don't care. I think there's a lot that needs to change at MBI. Until then, I'm looking elsewhere for imaging. read more

My dr referred me here for an abdominal ultrasound after some unusual results on my blood work. I had an early morning appointment but apparently so did many others. I was surprised, but the front desk was able to check us in seamlessly one at a time. Riley, the ultrasound tech I was assigned to greeted me and showed me to the room we would be using. She was super friendly and made things fairly comfortable for me. I could watch the screen for most of it, but it foreign territory for me! I think she was just measuring my organs.. not really sure. Her tone, manner and voice were so positive, I would not have been able to tell if she did see something bad. Very professional and it only took about 20 minutes or so. She told me I would have the results after the radiologist reviewed the pictures, maybe in a few days. I think I actually received the results a few hours later the same day. Followed by an email from my dr the next day. Lots of parking in off street lot. Very convenient north Bellingham location. read more

If I could give this experience "No Stars" I would! I've had mammogram done at this place before. I quit going to that facility for 10 years because I consistently got called back for a 2nd screen because my images were of concern. That's fair. Except they always seemed fine the 2nd time around. Great! My insurance pays for the first Mamogram only. A week ago I had "The mammogram from hell". I have a huge pain threshold, and am not very modest, but I felt like my not so small breast were pulled, stretched, squeezed to the point of real pain. My gown is hanging from my shoulder (barely) and the tech is very aggressively getting the images necessary. I understand that she has precise directions for me, as I followed with the liking of a child... you understand? Only to have my PA'S nurse call me today and tell me that the images WERE NOT USEABLE! Are you kidding me? She's the tech... the pro. It baffles my mind that after 20 minutes of me trying to have an out of body experience, SHE GOT NO USEABLE IMAGES!! I've always had a great experience with Mt. Baker Imaging...once I got an appointment. The only real painful part is getting the appointment. Be prepared to be on hold for 10 minutes, then shunted to voice mail, then have to call again...it can take 3 iterations or more to finally get someone that will schedule an appointment for you (so you're on hold for at least 30 minutes). Once that happens, you're good to go, and they're fast, professional, and courteous. No idea why they can't staff enough schedulers. read more

I have been going to this facility for various imaging including mammograms. Out of the 5 mammograms I have had here, I have been called back 3 times for more imaging. Twice I had a manager assist with the mammogram. I have experienced immense pain lasting a week from these mammograms. The technicians are aggressive with manipulating my breasts to get images yet they don't seem to get enough or the right imaging. One time, the technician spent the full time body shaming me. The females in my family are small chested. They have never experienced pain or having to go back multiple times for lack of good imaging. They live out of state and do not use this imaging center. I will not be using this imaging center and I suggest you go elsewhere if you are small chested. read more

My wife and I came here for the first time during the thick of COVID, so we did not think much of the quality of care we were given. It was not a great experience, but everyone was having a tough time back then. This morning, however, my wife and I arrived at 7am for a 7:20 appointment time. Very first thing, the door was locked despite them having opened at 7. Through the window, we can see people in the lobby checking in, but the front desk lady ignores us and doesn't open the door. We figure out we can go to a different door and take the elevator up, but by the time we get in, a line has formed. There is still only one lady at the front desk. People are arriving and trying to get in and they can't because the door is locked. The lady at the front desk yells that we, the people in line, can open the door for the people waiting outside. Clearly a second front desk person is needed to open the clinic if there is a line of 6-7 people waiting in line at 7am. A few minutes go by. A guy behind us in line actually just leaves. Skips his appointment. After waiting for 35 minutes (we are now 15 min past our appt time), it's finally our turn to check in. It is at this time we are told that the appointment we've had circled on the calendar, our first ultrasound to see an image of our child, is not on the schedule. 7:20 AM on 2/21. We made this appointment weeks ago. Now they have no record of it?? So now I'm sitting in a waiting room with a crying wife, we both took time off work, and we have no idea if we'll even be seen. I don't have all day to sit here so I'm not sure. What I can absolutely tell you is that this a disorganized mess of a practice, and if you're looking for a stress free place to get a simple ultrasound, it is absolutely in your best interest to seek services elsewhere. Appallingly unprofessional. Update: Leaving without being seen. They pushed the responsibility off to my doctor's office, saying they must have cancelled it on their end. Even if that's true, it took an hour and 20 minutes to get that information, and we were never given any kind of notice the appt. had been cancelled. Avoid if you can. read more

MT Baker imaging sent my statement to collections without sending me receiving an invoice or a phone call. They said they sent two statements, however I didn't receive either. They could have called me to verify I received them, but instead they just sent it straight to collections. I will never use this office again. read more

3 strikes and you're out! ZERO STARS! 1. Went to Mt. Baker Imaging for an ultrasound where they found a small cyst. They needed to insert a needle to draw fluid from it which I was super nervous about. I was scolded by the doctor for flinching when they put the needle in without numbing it! The doctor (clearly flustered) said "Don't you know how close to the chest wall this is?!" Umm, no actually I don't know that. 2. Went for a mammogram. While I was changing behind a half curtain some random guy was walking around, unescorted, looking for his wife and pulling back the curtains! 3. Went for a mammogram. I asked the tech if she had experience with aged implants (higher risk of breaking) and she snapped "Do you want a different tech?! You don't have to have this done". I told her "No, I'm concerned that my older implants have a higher risk of breaking and yes, I do have to have this done in order to qualify to take my medications". She said "Oh, most people think I'm too young and don't know what I'm talking about". Uhhh...I think that now thanks. She pulled unreasonably hard, stretched and smashed the worst than I've ever had before. There was no regard for my concern. She claimed she had worked with "implants from the 60's" which I highly doubt since they weren't regulated until 1976! I'm 55 and I've had many mammograms done over the years. It is 5 days later and I AM STILL SORE! They also REQUIRE you sign a waiver so if they burst your implants they don't hold ANY responsibility! The lobby is always packed and the check in is one big insurance money grab. My bill was $900+. Overheard the following twice in 15 minutes "You have insurance, might as well use it!" Mt. Baker Imaging is a great place to get your annual mammography starting at the age of 40 (baseline image should be taken at 35). Easy to book an appointment by calling in advance. They can usually get you in within a week. Arrive early to check-in, show your insurance card, and fill-out/sign paperwork. They have a nice, climate controlled waiting room with lots of reading material, but you won't be waiting long. A radiologist will call you back to the changing room where you can hang up your clothes and put on a hospital gown. She will then lead you into an imaging room where she will position you with the imaging machine. Once in place, hold your breath and don't move until the image is captured. For annuals, only 4 images are needed. More may be needed if there are problem areas (lumps, pain, changes, etc.). They will forward the images to your General Physician (GP) and/or Gynecologist to review the results with you. If you forget to schedule your annual mammography, Mt. Baker is good about contacting you and reminding you to schedule an appointment. read more

I went in for an MRI. The test was fine, but I was severely injured when an assistant yanked my left arm to "help" me get out of the wheelchair. I heard a CRACK and instantly felt terrible pain. I thought they had broken my sternum so they did an xray. I was told it was fine and they went ahead and started the MRI process again. All during this time I was literally in agony. It was clear the staff was more worried about me suing them, I guess, than they were about my injury. I wanted them to call an ambulance but was talked out of it and Instead was walked across the street to the ED in a wheelchair. Again, each little bump was excruciating. I was admitted to the hospital and spent 6 or 7 days flat in bed, unable to move or use the bathroom. No one from Mt. Baker Imaging bothered to check on me. After the week in the hospital, I was transported by ambulance to Lynden Christian Health care where I stayed for a month which is all I had insurance for. I was discharged home, to fend for myself for dressing and cooking, etc. I spent the next three plus months continuing to recover. Again, I never heard from Mt. Baker Imaging. They don't return my phone calls; they leave me on hold to the point where I am forced to hang up. I think the whole thing is pathetic, cruel, and done on purpose to make me give up fighting for justice. They have absolutely no idea what damage that thoughtless YANK has done to my life. If they had just indicated that they cared...but they didn't and they don't. read more

What a wonderful experience! We almost forgot we were there for a guided biopsy. There is plenty of parking and the reception area is nice and quite. The ladies at the front desk were efficient and friendly. Kay the nurse, Dr. Buetou and Richard the lab guy were absolutely amazing. This visit to get a biopsy could have been very stressful however these guys had us laughing and feeling very comfortable. Everything was explained thoroughly and still professionally. You will also see the same response from the business taking no accountability and apologizing that someone is "unhappy" with their billing "method" if you can even call it that, considering they don't actually send you a bill. Here is my experience (note that I'm not quoting anyone and the times are approximate, this was over a year ago) My appointment went fine. Some difficulty with the IV but nothing too bad. People were generally friendly. I'm thinking hey, maybe all those reviews are exaggerating. Still going to be watching for the bill like a hawk though. About 3 weeks later I've heard nothing from them or my insurance. I call to check, I'm told that billing through insurance takes up to a month or more depending on the provider. Okay, no big deal. My insurance has always been slow. Two weeks after this I see my insurance has processed the bill and paid their portion. Great. I call to ask when I'll get my bill. They say it should arrive anytime and they can see it in my account, okay, cool. I wait... And I wait... And I wait... No bill. I call to ask about this and am told; yes my bill has been sent out! It should arrive within the week. Great. Cool. I wait a week... No bill. I call again. I'm getting frustrated at this point. Ask where my bill is. I'm told it's on it's way, don't worry! Okay... Fine. Mail is slow, there's issues with the national postal service right now. Whatever. I wait another week. NO BILL. I call again, yes my bill is on its way! But would I like to pay over the phone instead to just take care of it? (at this point I think they're sick of me calling, also they NEVER mentioned this option to me in any of the other calls..) but great, I can finally take care of this. I pay over the phone. I wash my hands of it. A week later.. my paper bill shows up. Postmarked as being sent the day... after... I called to ask and was told it had already been sent out. (third or fourth call, it gets a little fuzzy since I called so many times). I check to make sure the phone payment went through and all is well. But at this point I'm mad. Did they only send this paper bill because I hounded them? Would they have just sent me to collections without a word if I hadn't been calling basically every week? Why wasn't I told I could pay over the phone? (Also just a note I believe they advertise being able to pay though their website somehow which I tried at the time but could not get to work. I'd also seen some stories of people paying online and their payments mysteriously not going through so I wasn't too eager to try it myself. ) So I leave a review, it's rather scathing and outlines what I put above in slightly less detail. Tell people not to go there, the billing hassle is not worth it. A few weeks later, my review has been seen by quite a few people and gotten some thumbs ups, and I receive a reply from the business. It's the same reply as always, offering me to call and sort this out... But then I go back to look at this response a few days later and it's been deleted. Interesting... I wonder why they've left responses up for other reviews then? I honestly have no clue. But what all this is really meant to show is that this business is not operating with your best interests in mind. They don't communicate, they aren't transparent, they refuse to admit wrongdoing. It's not okay and they should not be allowed to do this. Unfortunately sending people to collections without warning is not illegal... Gotta love the USA right? Unorganized, greedy, and unprofessional. They sent a bill to collections, once I found out I immediately paid Mt. Baker Imaging. I was told over the phone that they would notify the collections agency that the debt had been paid. I have called 3 times now because I continue to get calls from the collections agency saying I owe them even though I have already paid. I have a receipt and everything. Each time I call Mt. Baker Imaging I am reassured that they will notify the collections agency, and they still have not. I called for a FOURTH time and they were unable to confirm if they had even notified the agency, when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was placed on hold for 20 minutes only to be told that they "couldn't find one because they aren't answering their phone". Lynden version of greeting is deplorably. I was the only person there and waiting at the spot assigned to waiting, the window opened and I was greeted with, "Why are you here", in a VERY condescending attitude. When I presented the receptionist with my paperwork she stated "Mam that doesn't answer my question, why are you here"'. While she refused to look at my paperwork explaining why I was there. "Xrays" and I refer her to the paperwork in her possession and she states "Mam I can't help you unless you tell me why you are here" ???? Then I recognize her from a phone call I made a few months ago when she repeatedly told me I didn't exist. I gave and spelt my name to her twice as well as gave her my birthday. Then I realized she was a non-productive person and gave her my full first name which is the same but adds two letters Kandi with ce so Kandice...same last name, same birthday, same spelling...same name I use . Suddenly she can comply but warns me no one uses nicknames??????????????WTF. ARGH I am not here out of curiosity of my own accord. SHE is the only medical receptionist that has ever been compelled to say I do not exist when clearly I do and they..if ever, ask if I am Kandice. Go to Bellingham and NEVER continue a scheduling conversation or follow through with the Lynden facility if you need this service. I give Mt Baker Imaging 0 stars for customer service. There is no one local to talk with regarding a billing issue. The person I spoke with was in Gambia and just insisted I was wrong. He did not call me back when he said he would and he said he would send detailed records to me and he did not. He couldn't let me talk to his supervisor, probably because she was not there and is in another office in Ohio. The customer service is awful The phone numbers for any of the directors or anybody locally, are out of service. Apparently they have outsourced everything to a company called Advocate in Ohio. They have not called me back either. It seems mount baker imaging is real big on sending people to collections. See advocates website about how effective they are at collecting debt. While the doctors and nurses were wonderful, they do not understand how to use technology when billing. Several times they have sent my bills to a collection agency without mailing or email bills. They didn't even call me to attempt to get payment for a $20 bill. They sent it to collections. When I called the first time to figure out the problem I updated my address and email. I just found out today, because I called them to make sure that their accounting reflected the payment last month for an xray. Yes I was told that was posted but then they informed me that I had an outstanding bill of $20 from a year ago. What!!! They never billed me, nor was there ever a statement issued to inform me anytime during the year. What was even worse is that their "patient portal" website doesn't work and I informed them 4 times of that. It still doesn't work. When they told me about the year old bill (today) they then told me they sent it to Collections. Again, no notice that they were going to do that NOR have I ever heard from the collection agency in a year. I am a stickler for paying my bills so I drove the 30 miles to town to pay the $20 at one of their locations. I was charged $21.62. Yes, I was charged a collection fee for their incompetence. I spent the entire day calling them and asking to talk to anyone of authority but I guess no one works there because I am still waiting. Absolute ripoff. They did not disclose additional costs and charged me over $1000 in additional ultrasound fees. When I called them about it they said that I should have been told (I was not) and that since the service had already been performed they couldn't take it off of my bill. The techs who work here are awesome; the clerks who schedule and take care of medical records leave a lot to be desired. First, last year my mammogram was cancelled, but no one let me know. I only found out bc I called the day before. I was told it was bc there were no doctor's orders, even though I had specially told the scheduler I would hand carry them from Seattle. Then recently I was called four times the day before to remind me of my mammogram and to tell me to be there early for my DEXA. When I checked in. I was told I wasn't scheduled for a DEXA and I couldn't be squeezed in. Fortunately my mammogram tech listened to me whine and got me in. When I left I made sure the person at the front desk knew my results of BOTH tests needed to be sent to both my GP in Bham and my oncologist in Seattle. She acknowledged this. A few days later Seattle called, letting me know no mammogram results had been received, only the bone density. She said they would FAX you again. Today at my appointment in Seattle I was told no mammogram had been received. What is wrong with this place? From now on since I have to use this place, I will insist on hand carrying my records. I needed an MRI of my spine , my Neurologist sent me here. I requested an open MRI as I'm Claustrophobic, which I recommend it made a fearful experience great. I also chose to pay in full as I've a HD plan that makes me pay 100 percent till its reached and I was told I'd get a 10 percent discount this way. I didn't go last year for this reason but my pain has worsened so I decided to charge and just pay some each month. Truth be known after billing came down to go over details with me, I won't give names as I'm unsure if ok, but I got a little over 50 percent off by paying in full and not going thru ins which wasn't going to help me anyway. I don't tend to write reviews in general. Even when I get bad service. But when it comes to a medical imaging company bad service can sometimes cost more than money. I had an appointment with them this past April 21st, 2016. I will say that check in is fast and courteous. The front desk ladies are always sweet and know their jobs. Waiting times are also really quite good. You never have to wait for a long time. So kudos for those areas. I have had quite a number of very positive experiences with this company. But I have also had several unpleasant experiences as well. Usually I have noticed that the older the technician the worse experience. I am not sure if it comes down to being tired or bored. But I will say that they do tend to have a bit of an attitude. They can across very haughty and a bit snobby. It doesn't seem to matter how polite you are either. But the other day took the cake! I went into my appointment with my husband as I have been getting sicker and sicker with no answers. I have developed several well felt lumps under the skin on my abdomen. I went in and laid down. I had clearly marked these areas wide with a fair amount of range because they are somewhat hard to stand there and pin point. But the tech demanded that I try to do it anyway. She very quickly went over the WRONG area. All the while diagnosing me as she did so. She proceeded to do this for the entire visit. Intent on handing out a diagnosis more than doing her job. Then she came to the large unmistakable mass in my face under my jaw and proceeded to tell me what she *KNEW* it was. Handing out different diagnosis after another. I am not even sure what she did manage to get on record as she was too busy telling me that it was nothing. So low and behold I get the results back from radiology and they claim they found no unusual masses on my abdomen and scarier than that make no mention of the mass that is still behind my jaw! So now not only to I have less answers than I started with I will now have to go back again after I wait for these masses to keep getting bigger and more painful. On top of that they have of course already charged my insurance and myself. So just know when you go to NOT do what I did in trying to be polite, Speak Up! They are NOT the ones who diagnose you. They are there to get clear images of what the areas of concern are for the actual doctor to address! read more

I have used Mt Baker Imaging a few times, but never again. I had a similar experience as another reviewer regarding the "diagnosing" tech, probably the same ultrasound technician I had. The first time I had her for a look at the thyroid, she blabbed on and on about it was probably this and they would probably do a biopsy and it would come back as "this", blah, blah, blah. I remember I said something to get her to shut up. She was acting like she was the doctor! Not in the scope of her license. I got her again about a year later for another issue. As I walked into the room for an ultrasound, she asked bluntly, "So, what is your story?" I shut her up again. She should be fired. When I went there for an MRI, I was in the dressing room and with other patients around was loudly asked for my weight. Really? What about privacy? I just left. They need to conduct training on professionalism and scope of practice issues. They need a new ultrasound technician. I will go to Everett or Seattle in the future.
