She was super patient with me (I have difficult veins) and I have to say she is one of the best I have dealt with in recent years. What could be easier? Nothing! Very clean, nice parking lot with lots of spots. Safe area. My new go to lab yay!

I attempted to call to schedule the appointment, but the voicemail indicated a 48-hour callback policy. Since I was required to complete my physical within that same 48-hour window, I did not want to risk missing the deadline and therefore made the drive to the clinic in person. When I arrived, there were multiple receptionists in the back who could have answered my call but did not. The receptionist who assisted me informed me that I would need to speak with the individual responsible for scheduling physical appointments. I waited for her to come out; she asked a few questions and then returned to the back. When she returned, she appeared disorganized and stated that she was unable to schedule me for that day. Her name is June Hathaway. I found her demeanor to be condescending and unprofessional.

Um, nope. Not even close. A few weeks ago a loved one needed a "stat" blood test to see if a serious infection might be present. Because his doctor's office was right across the street from Quest's location in the "Bunker Building" outside the hospital, we walked right over for a blood draw. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Even though there were only two other patients present in the waiting room on this weekday afternoon, we waited for over an hour for this blood draw. But that wasn't the worst of it. The test was supposed to be run right away, so that we could make a decision about the severity of my loved one's symptoms. In fact, there was a chance that hospitalization might be required depending on the outcome. Our physician assured us that as soon as she heard back from Quest she would contact us, and that at most it would be three hours. So we headed home and waited for her call. FOUR hours later, she called. She was very dismayed. After trying several times to get ahold of Quest, she found out they had "accidentally" sent my loved one's STAT blood test to Seattle. Apparently, instead of blood tests being run locally as they were when Peacehealth ran the lab, Quest sends the blood to their main facility in Seattle. But stat labs are supposed to stay and be run in Bellingham. This was a huge oops, with potentially life-threatening consequences. We waited several more anxious hours until his blood was located and the test was run - in fact the call from our doctor did not come until well after midnight. For a "stat" test that had been ordered before 4pm. I absolutely will do everything in my power not to use Quest labs if at all possible. I can only hope other peoples' lives aren't being put in danger by their poor service.

I just had a multitude of blood work/urinalysis tests done a few weeks ago ordered by my…read morespecialist. My family doctor then wanted to give me a requisition for my every 3 month standing order blood work. On this family doctor requisition there were 2 tests that my specialist had not ordered, everything else had already been done through him. When I gave the requisition to the lady at the front desk at Life Labs I explained I already had all tests done a few weeks ago and only needed 2 tests that were new. She was not happy about this and said I had to have every single test done again because it was easier for her (she did not want to go over the previous tests and to see that she only needed to do 2 tests). I explained I could not do urinalysis work because I had not drank any water beforehand not expecting this and was not able to give a sample. She did not care and said I would have to book another appointment for that test (again which I already had done by my specialist ), so now this would be 3 times coming for the same test. I also have very small veins and do not appreciate having multiple tubes of blood taken when only one is necessary. She did not care and said to come another time and gave me my requisition back. I was so upset I phoned Life Labs contact number, and the customer service rep was very nice and explained that the techs have to follow exactly what is on the requisition. I could understand what she was saying, but at no time did the lab technician I was talking to say anything of this nature, just that it was easier for her to do everything all at once, I still would not be able to have done the urine test. The difference between the 2 people I spoke to was night and day, the tech just saying it was too much work to check what I had had done a few weeks ago to the customer service rep who explained things carefully (although I have had them do this before in same situation). The lab technician appeared rude to me, didn't care about my concerns with not being able to leave a sample, and would have to come back a third time. So now I will just forgo the missing tests and wait another 3-6 months when my specialist orders more blood work and coordinate it with this. What a waste of my time and energy. Plus the tech really appeared to not care at all about what I was saying. I gave one star because the customer service representative was very kind and understanding and explained their rules carefully.

I've been to so many LifeLabs, I've lost count. But BY FAR, this is the absolute best site, hands…read moredown. Here are the reasons: -efficiency. They are appointment-based only. No walk-ins. So you are assured a spot and a time, with minimal waiting. -large and bright office, and impeccably clean. -FREE WI-FI. (This is a real rarity at other lab sites). -more services are offered here than at many other LifeLab sites. Examples: EKG's, cardiac holder monitors, etc. -Professionalism of staff. A female checked me in (I didn't get her name) and although she was somewhat aloof, she was thorough and organized and I had zero wait time. My tech was Ian and he was phenomenal. I have had to get cardiac monitors and EKG's frequently and he was the most thorough when it came to instructions and, wow, they even provide you with a mesh "vest" over the monitor (I never got that before, and it made a huge difference in comfort level and stability). And even upon returning the following day, the staff here remembered me and the whole "disconnect and drop-off" experience was, dare I say, pleasant. My experiences at this site were unlike any I've had at other LifeLabs, and this will be the only site I go to from here on in, for sure.
