I even caught myself gawking and saying "Look at this one! He's so cute!!" Per the website: Sea turtles inhabit all oceans of the world. There are five species of sea turtles found in the Gulf of Mexico, all of which are either endangered or threatened. The most endangered species of sea turtle in the world is the Kemp's ridley which is also the most common species found in the waters off of Texas. Since the Kemp's ridley was listed on the Endangered Species Act, the Galveston Lab has played an important role in the conservation and recovery of this species through ongoing research, head-starting experiments and support of international conservation efforts. The volunteers showed and presented an awesome slide/video show for 45 mins. They passed around several items: a real baby turtle (preserved in a jar), a real egg (also in a jar), an actual size loggerhead turtle taxidermy, garbage that turtle eats in the sea (it's both frightening and sad), hooks that are being used.....and several more. After the presentation, they'd took us a short block to a secured facility to see the turtles. YOU WILL JUST LOVE IT! It's warm and humid in there but even if it was 110 degree weather outside, just seeing the baby turtles will make you soon forget the humidity. What a wonderful way to educate yourself and your family/friends. You'll come out as a better person....thinking differently. :-)

Unfortunately I got bit 2 times today for whatever reason they couldn't find blood. Also felt my hematologist could've been a little more animated as opposed to being a zombie today on top of her apparently letting the less experienced person try to draw blood for me. I have come across good hematologists in the past at other Quest unfortunately though not here, won't return.

Woe is I for being diabetic and having to get blood drawn on a regular basis…read more Quest is one of the largest lab operations in the country, and most of my experiences have been OK, even in this particular location. However, there was one occasion here when they couldn't find a doctor's order, so I left and went back home only to find out that the dude looking things up really didn't know what he was doing. (They called me back and said "Our bad," without seeming to give a rat's furry behind about my time and travel.) More recently, the phlebotomist drew my blood and wished me a wonderful day. The next day, I was informed that my blood "coagulated" and that I would need to return for another draw. I call bull. Though I went back and let them draw again, which was also a painless experience, I let them know that blood doesn't just coagulate in a vile. Not mine at least. (It didn't "coagulate on the second draw.) The truth is, someone mislabeled or mishandled my lab specimens. Why not just admit the mistake? There are other Quest locations around here, and I have and will continue to avoid this one.
