High marks for both. The cheese curds, while not my cup of tea, were well received by my Wisconsinite brother-in-law who thought they were quite good as well. Aside from the cheese products this business also carries a large assortment of fresh made ready to cook pizzas, a large assortment of home made dog treats (definitely dog lovers own this business), and other assorted small merchandize. The other thing to mention relative to Covid is that this business practices good safety protocols where everyone is wearing a mask, hand sanitizers are readily available for customer use and most importantly free masks, if needed, are available as you enter the store. Biting into Laney curds sounded like a happy pup gnawing on its favorite squeak toy. The most satisfying squeak of a fresh cheese curd upon gently pressing your fangs into them.. really knows no comparison. Next is proper saltiness. This cheese is too salty for me..said no one..ever. Laney curds had just the right amount of salt to keep you coming back for more but without feeling the need to fill up on worthless water, taking up much needed stomach real estate for precious cheese curds. Lastly, the texture is key. Soft but not rubbery and firm enough to produce the squeak is the sweet spot these curds achieved. Let them warm to room temp, and the softness produces a new and novel texture, making the thought of devouring the entire pound a near maddening obsession. Now that I have properly described the quality of the best cheese known to human kind, I can comment on other aspects of the business. Their small shop surrounded by farmland with homemade products is quite appealing. We were in Appleton and I realized they had a storefront so we stopped in. The store is small but has a selection of cheese, milks and local products as well as Lamers merch and some souvenirs. They sell servings of ice cream and have a couple of tables where families were enjoying their treats and visiting. We got some milk, cheese and chocolates. I'm looking forward to picking up some of their heavy whipping cream and half and half, all of which all of which are made from their rBGH-free milk. Good stuff from Wisconsin!

We finally stopped in. You can smell the smoker going from the parking lot. There is absolutely nothing fancy about the store. 2 chest freezers and a meat counter. The attendant obviously works in the back making sausages and comes out to the store when a customer comes in. There are several varieties of bratwurst, ring bologna, beef sticks and other sausages.. There are pork chops, bacon and ham. I bought more wieners, summer sausage which is very good, and some bacon I will try tomorrow morning. The prices are higher than you might find on name brands or at big chain stores, but the quality is superior. I will continue to get sausages at Salmon's when we pass through Luxemburg going to Green Bay.
