Absolutely, 100 percent, the worst taxi ever! From the Omni Hotel to Lax, it was the taxi ride from hell! Things started out shady and went downhill fast. The dingy blankets covering the back seat was my first indication that this would not be a pleasant experience. Then there was the lack of air conditioning. I removed my jacket, as I was becoming queasy from the heat, road noises and the banging of my luggage as it rickshawed across the hatchback compartment above the trunk of the cab. By the time we arrived at LAX, I suspected the sheet was covering stains from a previous victim of this aggressively driven hotbox. But wait! There's More! I was told by multiple people at the hotel that the fare was a flat-rate of $52. When we got to LAX, the POS screen flashed a fare of $60+. The driver asked if I had cash, otherwise the fair was $60+, "but it was okay to not leave a tip". BUT WAIT! There's more . The POS machine failed to work, so driver persistently asked if I had cash. I gave him a $100 bill and he could not make change! Back to Square 1; he fumbled around and got the machine to work, but it did not provide a receipt. April 4, 2026 8:35PM, I called Yellow Cab for a pickup on a return trip home from the original drop off. Information was confirmed to/from address, phone number. A few minutes later, I received confirmation text indicating taxi was en route. So I went outside the event center to wait. After 30 min lapsed I checked the taxi's ETA which indicated 3 min. Ten min past when I checked the ETA again and it said, "No show!" When I had been standing outside waiting for 45 min. No Yellow Cab EVER showed up in any way, shape or form.. Called dispatch to report it. They said I should wait until they were able to locate another taxi. It's now 10PM and still no taxi assigned. The Event Center closed, locked the doors and I'm standing alone outside waiting for Yellow cab to find another taxi for me; now 1-1/2 hr has lapsed since the initial call. I ended up calling Uber and paying $9 for a ride just a couple blocks away. When this senior would have paid just $1. Unfortunately, the exact same scenario occurred last month. Made advance reservations, confirmed all the information, waited outside for an extended period of time, only to receive a "No Show" text inconveniencing me to make other arrangements for transportation at the very last minute resulting in late arrival to my destination. read more

Yesterday I came from VA to CA for a CEU class workshop. My taxi driver charged me $100 from LA to Malibu. He even did not bring me to the place I ordered to stay. I had to go by foot to the actual place for around half a mile alongside the road which did not have sidewalk. Moreover, the driver refused to give me a receipt for the money I pad. The machine for credit/debit payments was broken. Other possibilities to receive a receipt he excluded. Something weird was to talk to the driver's boss whose introduced himself by phone as Albert who requested the data from my credit card, then said it rejected payments, but when I went to the store after the driver left me far from the destination, my card worked perfect. After working with ATS for several years, I have witnessed how taxi drivers can become aggressive and violent towards customers. Yesterday, I experienced this with Yellow Cab 6076. He became combative, aggressive, and violent simply because I corrected him on why he was telling customers to pay cash only, knowing that passengers can pay how they want.   As a supervisor, I felt it was my responsibility to ensure that all customers were treated fairly and that drivers were following company policies. I recorded the incident for my safety and others, as the driver even tried to hit me.  Yellow Cab 6076 hit my camera as I was recording, which is unacceptable behavior toward me.  This kind of behavior is not acceptable and I have seen other drivers display similar actions. It is time for Yellow Cab Company to address complaints and communicate with their taxi drivers. The worst service! Got a taxi card for seniors through LA County which provides up to 4 free rides per month. Thought it would be helpful to basically bring me home from marketing. Today I waited over 2-1/2 hours standing outside the supermarket in the cold. Took 3 hours to get home from initial call. Most rides have taken over 1 hour on average for pick up. Taxi drivers have told me that a lot of them will not pick up requests for short rides. And, some have said that Uber and Lyft have taken a lot of their business. I don't understand the poor reviews for this cab taxi service company. Obviously no one has ever encountered George. He is a pure gem! We stumbled upon George on our return from Boston at LAX airport and he has thus far been our best experience with any car service. So much so that we request him EVERY TIME! I have called LA Yellow Cab several times to take me to and from concert venues in LA, as the last thing I want to do is drive and park at these facilities. The dispatchers are kind and professional. They double check your departure and arrival addresses and you can even book the return pick up at the same time. The drivers are also efficient and professional. You receive a text as they are on the way to you and you get the cab number and a photo of the driver. The drivers send a text and verify your name when they arrive. I had reserved a minivan cab, the day before, to pick us up at midnight at the Hollywood Park Casino's main entrance following our attendance to Beyoncés Concert. At 11:45 pm I called the cab company to inform them that we were waiting at the main entry only to learn that their dispatcher had cancelled my cab because they tried calling me that evening and I did not answer my phone. I'm waiting outside at my pickup time and no one shows up. I call customer service and they didn't have any clue. I asked them to see if they can give me an update or find a driver but apparently they work separately from "dispatch". Couldn't give me any status updates and told me that if dispatch couldn't find something in 30 mins they'll cal and refund me. This is one of many reasons that cabs are dead. OMG! I reserved a 5a pick up to go to LAX 2 days prior. Confirmed it the day before. The day of the pickup I was wondering where our ride was. Called and got an automated message that a driver has not been assigned and they are working on finding one. What? I immediately hopped on my Uber app and a driver was 5 mins away. We have used Yellow Cab through Modivcare, which contracts with them. The scheduling of rides through Modivcare for non-transferable wheelchair bound patients, which applies to my mom, is laborious and inefficient. The Yellow Cab response to the rides and accuracy of pick-up times is miserable. The last two rides, one to the hospital and the other to her primary, were late by over 30 minutes at minimum. The van for non-transferable patients apparently is not readily available, and the phone staff, when calling, are less than efficient and borderline useless. I have to wait to speak with a supervisor to get any clear indication of a result. I did speak with Joanna and Denise, both supervisors who vowed to correct the issues and, in time, did, but the overall customer service needs an overhaul. The drivers have all been excellent, and I mention Miguel, Angie, Shafi, and others as they card, and their customer service is very good. I give 3 stars simply due to the scheduling and customer service deficiencies that must be noted. read more

I reserved a cab capable of carrying a wheelchair for pickup at 5:20 am, needing to ride 16 blocks straight up Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica to a 5:45 am MRI. Id been advised to set it for 5:20 rather than 5:30, because the number of these cabs is limited, and to call if it was 5 or 10 minutes late. I did and explained that any cab with an empty trunk could carry my wheelchair. Around 5:30, a driver called to say he was coming, but was 29 minutes away. I explained that was 15 minutes after my check in and said I would call to ask if that would work. Please call again in a few minutes. Yes, I learned. 6 am would still work. But he never called, and the text with his telephone number had disappeared. So I called Yellow Cab again, and they said a cab would arrive in 7 minutes (5:45, which would still work. But that driver didn't announce his arrival, and left when he didn't see me. He sent a text. I asked the office to call him to say I'd left the lobby where I'd been waiting and was now at the corner in my wheelchair, but they couldn't call him. Instead, I was offered yet another cab at 6 am, but I explained that would be too late and if they couldn't reach the nearby cab that had come and gone without calling me, I'd have to cancel my appointment. At 6:35 am a driver called. I thanked him for his courtesy, but explained I'd already missed my 5:45 am appointment. The company was unable to find my reservations or call their drivers, even when I gave them the cab numbers texts had said were coming. It doesn't even cancel a call after it's been told it's now too late. I'll never use LA Yellow Cab again. read more

THE WORST! My sister was visiting me and needed to go to LAX to get on her international flight. I just had a spinal procedure and was instructed not to drive, so I called this cab company. She needed to leave by 7:30 PM so we scheduled a ride for 7:00 PM just to be safe. I called to confirm at 6:50 and got the robo voice saying a driver was "on his way." I called at 7:10 and was again told by a robo voice "a driver was on his way. He should arrive in 10 minutes." (Which would make him 20 minutes late.) Called at 7:20. Same message. Called at 7:30. Same message. Pressed the # given to connect with driver, got "Voice mailbox is full" recording and was disconnected. I had to drive her myself in pain so she wouldn't miss her flight. l would walk before I booked another ride with this company. We booked an accessible cab to go from San Pedro to the cruise terminal in Long Beach, booking it almost 24 hours in advance. We gave them the credit card for payment and they had my email and cell number. They were supposed to pick us up at 12:30 and when that time came, and they weren't here, we then called and they said they didn't have a vehicle available. Now they didn't call us and let us know. If we hadn't called we would never have known they weren't coming. We had to call an Uber, and my wife had to transfer out of her wheelchair. Which fortunately she was able to do. Be aware of an aggressive road rage. This happened at the Hollywood & Highland shopping mall parking (after the entrance, going towards to the downstairs parking) on Sunday 5/5 around 5:16 pm. There are heavy traffic for cabs/Uber/Lyft and people driving their vehicles to park. I was driving, to exit the mall, and at the stop sign, this cab driver ignored stopping and made a dangerous left turn right in front of me. I honked and my husband said to stop then this cab driver shouted at me and my husband that we did not stop, which is absolutely incorrect. Got a Yellow Cab Taxi at the LAX airport pick up zone on 6/28 around 9AM. After we started driving, driver said that his credit card machine was not working and I would have to pay in cash. I asked how much the fare would be and he said $22. I told him that I don't have cash and would have to pay with a credit card. He never said that he only is accepting cash before we started driving to my destination or I would have not accepted the ride and moved on to another cab. Per the website, Yellow Cab accepts all sorts of payments including ApplePay. He said that he would call the police that I was not going to pay. I told him to pull over so I could get out of the moving vehicle, call the police, and we would wait together until the police got there and let them resolve the issue. Then all of the sudden he said to give him my credit card. I gave him the credit card and he was able to process it. So the machine was working after all! He asked how much tip to add. I said ZERO. He then proceeded to argue why no tip. Seriously!!!! I guess he forgot that you are tipped for your SERVICE! For some reason this driver, cab #6173, thought that he could take advantage of me. I don't know if it was because of my race or he just wanted to cheat the company he works for and make a quick $22 cash fare without reporting it. The amount of stress to go through while being trapped in a moving cab was exorbitant. No one should be treated this way. I was being exploited by the driver and lied to about a non-working credit card machine. I was fearful the entire drive to my destination, with a driver that was angry, argumentative, and unstable. It was a very stressful situation that should have never happened. I have already reported this to Yellow Cab Taxi's customer service and expect that they do a full investigation and reprimand the driver for his actions. A few minutes after that, our cab arrived at 7pm sharp as requested, and we arrived at the airport earlier than expected. Now that is service! The only negative is that the actual cab that picked us up was not the cleanest. But the driver was nice and got us safely to our destination. That is the important part. The driver was a very obese man in dirty t-shirt and shorts who refused to help me with my heavy suitcase because he is handicapped. I am a little 70yo woman who needs to get to the airport on time so I struggle with getting my bag into the van and then have to listen to a long monolog about discrimination towards handicapped taxi drivers!! He then retaliated and cut in front of me and then slammed on his breaks and then swerved out of the lane and back in front of me to slam on his breaks again.
