We made a reservation for a van to take our family of 4 to the airport way in advance. 30 minutes before they are scheduled to arrive, we got a voicemail telling us they don't have a vehicle for us, leaving us to scramble to find alternative means of transport. read more

On Feb. 14 about 10:30am I called Bell for a cab. I was given a prediction of a 30 minute wait. After one hour the cab hadn't arrived. I got recorded calls saying we are looking for a cab. Eventually a Yellow Cab arrived. I don't know if the request was given over to Yellow cab or if my companion made a new call to Yellow cab. I hated the unrealistic prediction. I wish the dispatcher simply said, "We don't have cabs available, call another company." If I was in a rush, I'd have been in trouble. read more

SUPER HONEST SERVICE I arrived late to LAX and had a very pleasant ride with a great driver, originally from Ethiopia. Foolishly I left my cell phone in his cab and he was fabulous in helping me retrieve. Not only did he find a friend's number in my phone and call it from his phone to let me know he had it (I'm a senior from Canada and don't use my phone in the US), but tried to bring it to my home. Unfortunately, we didn't connect, but he took it in to the office first thing Monday morning and I picked it up there. I cannot say enough about this man's honesty. Bell Cab Company is really lucky to have someone of this caliber working for them!! I'll always look for a Bell Cab at LAX in the future. read more

Another great ride!!! Saturday night Mid-City to WeHo. Our driver was Beyene and it was cab number 5823. Super nice guy. Called for the cab and he was there within 10 minutes and off we went. read more

Save your money and don't bother with them because they will not service you if you don't have a physical address. My problem started on Friday night when one of my friends took me to the airport. On the way to LAX, she suffered an engine trouble. (by the way, don't get a VW Jetta, it's a piece of junk that will require countless of repair cost). Needless to say, we got AAA to tow her car back to her home, but poor ol' me need to get to airport. Because of the fact that we are at Crenshaw Blvd at night near the Greenline Metrorail station (near the Hawthorne airport too), there is no real physical address for the parking lot of the Greenline station. It took countless of calls to try to convince them to send out a cab for me as I am hopelessly stuck and need to get to airport fast. I can understand if they feel some suspect is going to rob their cab in a non-physical address. But c'mon, if you stuck in nowhere and needed a ride, then what? The cab never came, so finally I had to bribe the AAA guy to sent me to the airport. That's right.... AAA sent me to airport. Great story, but a lousy experience to begin a trip. Ay Caramba!! read more

(NOTE: I didnt look here before I booked .... otherwise would never have done so) I went online to find a cab to LAX, and found Bell Cab. Then I noticed that the ability to book online, so went for it. Booked a cab at 230p, put in my address, city, etc. (and no ability to put in the zip, but figured ... they are local) At 210pm I got an automated message the "cab was here". WTF? I hurried to get out the door, and noticed ... no cab ... I live in Manhattan Beach, and many times Magellan GPS systems will take people to the same address in Hermosa (or they don't notice there are two, and select Hermosa). I called in and got a Bell Operator, and told her I got the message and no one there. Did not have a chance to explain the potential problem, and she said "they will be there in a minute" and cut me off. I waited with no cab and then 5-10 min later - called back. I got the same operator (as she told me ...), and tried to explain the GPS situation. Then she went off on me. She gave me the address, and the WRONG zip she said *I* inputted. (again, I couldnt have put that in) Then gave me incorrect cross streets, etc. and I said that was clearly Hermosa, and I was in Manhattan. Again, she said this was all my fault, and said she would put a rush on the cab. The cab driver arrived and was nice. But then said he inputted the MANHATTAN BEACH address, and it into the Magellan GPS and it took him to Hermosa. Moral of the story ... Next time, call a different cab company. read more

the guy arrived a few mins early and patiently waited outside until i was ready. They use a cool automated system to call you when the cab arrives and they ask you if you still want the cab. you press 1 for yes and 2 for no. I like that! That way you dont have to run down to the door and ask the cab driver to wait. Instead you can answer the phone and then keep on packing. I wouldve given 4-5 stars but somethign was up with the credit card machine and I had to wait an extra 3-5 mins for it to process. Good thing I wasnt late for my flight. read more

I booked the cab online at 8pm for a 4am pick up. Called at 3:55am because it showed "not dispatched" online. I was told they do not dispatch until 15 min prior. That would be understandable; however at 3:55am, 5 min before my pickup time the car had not been dispatched. Dispatcher said car would be there in 5-7 min. Did not happen, called back and was told it would be another 10 min. Cab finally arrived 15 min late. At least the driver was nice; however I will not use or recommend company due to lack of customer service. read more

Double charged Friday from LAX. They haven't corrected it and had to go through my bank to dispute the double charge. Take Lyft/Uber.

Swiped card paid cashed. Still got charge on my card. Recommend get recipients. Bell cab management Hawthorne. Not recommended stay away

Very misleading info. When I called and ask the fare from LAX to my home address, they told me it would be approximately $39, The fare (late at night and no traffic) came to $53. When I called the office they said there was a $17.50 minimum from the airport. They then said that "minimum" means the amount the meter starts at--thus, that $17.50 is ADDED to the price of the metered miles. Totally misrepresentation. Do NOT use them. read more

Extremely Unsatisfied with their service, I used their service several times before writing this review. I used their service to get my daughter to school, thinking service would be better for a repeat customer... No. The first week the drivers were on time but 2 of the drivers decided to take a longer route to the same location charging my daughter $20 for a trip that had only been costing us $10. After the first week every day after that they were late. I would call them at 7:15 for 7:30 they never showed before 7:50 causing my daughter to be late for school. I called their main office once to complain about being overcharged, they took my name and number but I have yet to receive a call back regarding the complaint read more

Got picked up at LAX terminal 1. Quickly realized his driving skills were questionable. Driving extremely slow. Missed cut off to avoid driving around the entire terminal. When I questioned him he said he's been driving to LAX for 19 yrs and that there were too many cars and he couldn't move over there quick enough. Ya right! Had trouble changing lanes as I believe his vision is not good. He left about 3 football fields in between him and the car in front of us. Other drivers are honking. Slow on the acceleraror, hard on the brakes. Again going well below speed limit. He needs a vision test. Peeked in the front seat while getting my receipt and it was absolutely disgusting. Dirty. It's no secret why these guys are losing to Uber and Lyft. read more

Normally, I and my family would have nothing but praise for the treatment we receive from Bell Cab,however our most recent involvement with a particular driver left us remembering the adage "One bad apple..."! The driver in question is car number 5903! Luckily for him, I have not been able to get his name, else he might be avoided by customers like the plague! First, he started off arriving 3 houses away from me and forget about the fact that I was in the middle of the street waving at him before he realized that he was at the wrong address (5 minutes later )! Next, upon arrival at the destination, he barked "YOU DON'T HAVE ANY CASH ",when he was given my credit card! As well, he hastily ran the card in error, 3 times causing it to freeze my account regardless of the fact that I have over a thousand dollars in it! Then, the final straw was when he demanded that I go into a Walmart and return with cash, which I reluctantly did! Never mind the fact that the competent folks at Walmart were able to run my card with great success to hand me cash! My message to you is a simple one, avoid the guy who drives car number 5903,and, just in case the drivers drive different cars, avoid the guy who's carrying about 150 extra pounds, is about 6 foot and gray short hair! Oh, and he speaks with an accent thats either middle eastern or deep European! No matter, the guy's an unequivocall asshole! read more

July 26, 2016-Repeatedly late arrival. Today 30 mins to go to LAX. We switched from South Bay Yellow Cab after using them for 25 years because of late delays. We make an effort to support local businesses-never again. We will now use Uber &/or Left. read more

Worst experience ever!!!!! Next time I rather walk than get a cab from them !!! I was on hollywood Blvd trying to get home, I had to call them 3 times to get the cab and the lady on the phone(dispenser no 30 I think ) was very rude when I ask for the 3rd time where is my car. After I got home (my fault) I forgot a bag in the car. I had to call back to ask for the driver to come back and she told me that it'll cost me more than $20 and the driver was 5 min away!!! I'll never use this company anymore read more

DO NOT USE - for a fair that was $15 when leaving was all of a sudden more than doubled because the driver - drove us around for 20 minutes. We even had to tell him which route to take..........when we mentioned to him. " You are taking all the heavy trafficked roads" he claimed - do not speak good English - in fact this was very true. I called Bell cab 424-636-1200 management comp. They were SO SORRY and would check and get back to me. NEVER DID - BAD TAXI COMPANY...........you will never get our business again. read more

These people are awful. Their attitudes are really something they need to work on. I advise going after a different cab company. My sister left my phone in a cab and I am currently still going on a roller coaster ride of constant, "We'll call you back", "We have your phone in this office", "Sorry we don't have your phone". I just want a definite answer! read more

The worst cab service I've received. I had to pay for my ride from the airport and the bill was around $30. I didn't have any cash on me, so I wanted to pay with a card. I got in a fight with the guy about paying with a card and he wanted to take me to an atm to take money out, ridiculous! I sat there in the back seat and could not believe we were literally arguing over this. The cabs need to realize not everyone carries cash at all time with them and there is a reason they have credit card machines. read more

from LAX to UCLA, the driver said my first card was declined (which it was), said he ran out of credit card receipts for my second card, so we drove to an ATM & I paid him cash. 4 days later, reviewing my card receipts - the second card was indeed charged. In retrospect it appears the driver knew what he was doing; he took advantage of a weary traveller and got paid twice - leaving me with no physical record of either payment ! Fortunately, the management office was extremely responsive, found the transaction, and reversed the charge. So - 0 stars for the driver, 5 stars for the management office = three stars average. read more

I took a cab home from the airport on Sunday and left my phone in the car. Unfortunately, I didn't get a receipt nor did I get the cab number. When I called the office, I actually got a helpful woman who tried to use data from my iPhone tracking app to identify the driver. No luck. I managed through other means (thank you Square) to track down the driver yesterday. He apparently didn't think it necessary to drop off my phone at the Bell Cab office on either Sunday or yesterday and this morning, charged me the $39 fare from Van Nuys to my house in West LA to 'deliver' my phone. If he had dropped off my phone like he's supposed to, I would have gone to get it and it would have cost me nothing. When I called to complain, the manager essentially told me that since I wanted my phone delivered, I should be charged, I pointed out that his driver never actually turned my phone in to the office so I had no choice but to have it 'delivered' and that my phone was essentially being held hostage. My logic fell on deaf ears so I just gave up. read more

We had an incredibly unprofessional driver. From the second we got in, he was verbally abusive and ranting. We genuinely feared for our security and asked him to drop us off at the nearest stop light. He was driving cab 5524. read more

I was picked up in Hermosa Beach by myself to go home Saturday night. The cab driver right off the bat was extremely unfriendly. A few minutes into our drive, I noticed his meter was off. When I asked him about it his response was that I could pay him whatever I wanted when we got to my house. (Obviously he wanted to pocket my money.) I told him that was fine. I live just about a mile away. When we got to my house I gave him my credit card and he freaked out telling me I had to pay with cash, even though there was a working credit card machine right there. (Again obviously wanting to pocket money.) I told him that was all I had and he was pissed. He just charged me the $10 flat fee, no tip. He ran my card and I left... And nowww I checked my credit card account yesterday and there were two charges! 1 for $10 and one for $25. I have tried calling Bell Cab company numerous times and they never answer their phone. BULL. read more

Booked my Taxi on line using their app. I booked the day before as I needed my taxi to LAX at 4:15am. At 4am, I got a phone call saying they were having trouble filling my order, and gave me another taxi company to call. I said, so you're telling me you're NOT coming. I called the other taxi and they said they were experiencing long wait times. So I drove myself and parked. My taxi would have cost $30 with tip, parking for a week will cost me over $150. I have deleted the Bell Cab app and will NEVER use them again. read more

After reading online reviews regarding the four taxi companies operating in Redondo Beach, I was afraid to use any service (getting to LAX on time is stressful enough). Finally decided on Bell Cab. My experience was very good - nothing went wrong! The night before, I ordered the taxi by phone. The dispatcher was professional - no issue there. The driver arrived on time. He was polite, pleasant, and a very good and safe driver - he asked if I had a route preference. Without comment he loaded and unloaded my very heavy luggage. Vehicle looked and smelled clean. Got to LAX no problem. No stress. read more

I needed a wheelchair taxi for transport on Sunday so I booked online on Friday to be extra sure to get one. I called on Saturday to confirm and to book return trip. Then on Sunday, 20 minutes before taxi was supposed to show up, they call me and say they don't have a car. We were screwed! You're supposed to reserve 24 hours in advance, and other places say they need at least 1 hour notice to get a wheelchair van. It was a special family event, with grandfather attending granddaughter's piano performance, and he missed it. We were all devastated. Never using this company again. Then they had the nerve to call later to confirm the return trip! read more

Worst cab ever! Stick to uber. The rates were OUTRAGEOUS. The driver was incompetent, constanly stepping on the break or gas. I was jerking around in the cab so much my neck hurt when i arrived at my destination. On top of that the guy had 3 super strong air fresheners and told me to roll up the windows for the ac. So I left with a headache from the smell and the driving. The driver was also deliberately going under the speed limit so the meter would run more. The only reason i used a cab was because I only had cash. It would have been a 40 dollar uber ride instead it was 120!!! I would rather walk than EVER use this service again. read more

Tried them for first time, called them 2 days for a trip to the airport LAX, and requested a van for 4 people. At the pick up time no one showed up, when I called them they said they had no vans available and they had called another cab company to do the pick up. The other cab company was 20 minutes late. It was a mad dash to the airport. I will never use them again, and I hope no one else will until they get their customer service under control.. read more

Caution! Can't trust you'll make it safe and on time with these guys. I'm not into posting reviews about businesses but I wanted to report the poor and irresponsible service of bellcab resulting in my 8 months pregnant wife missing her important Doctor appointment. The cab booking was for 5.10 pm and she waited outside on the road from 5pm until 5.20pm - but no cab, no calls. Since the Dr. appointment was at 5.30 she called bellcab when the service agent 'casually mentioned' that the previously assigned cab 'picked up some other passenger in that area! The agent also said (still casual) the next cab would reach for a pick up in 10 minutes! Finally the cab reached at 5.35, my wife got in (since there wasn't another option) and the cab driver (casually) asked "Which way to go"? Surprised, my wife managed to guide him onto the address, lucky enough to survive an accident when this inexperienced newbie racer almost hit another car and got honked while making a turn that he almost missed. In the end the driver says - total ride cost $xx, my meter is not working!!!! After all the fun, all that remained was a missed Dr. appointment and a disappointed expectant mother! I repeat, I don't like complaining, but today I'm forced to...hope this helps someone! read more

I got into LAX arriving just before midnight after a 24 hour international series of flights. The first cab in the line out front had a female driver with a heavy accent I took to be Russian, who, when I asked about the fare to a local hotel, pretty much snarled $20 and informed me it was just half a mile, as if I should just walk. I got in and she took off at a violent pace, dodging in and out of lanes with what seemed to me very little control. I was frantically trying to fasten my seat belt when I became aware of her watching me in the rear view mirror. Suddenly she accelerated hard and then stamped on the brake. I braced myself hard so I wouldn't shoot forward. I am convinced that she was so angry that she was trying to harm me. She then launched into a rant about how she had been waiting at LAX for over an hour for a lousy $20 fare. At my hotel she parked just out of the street, nowhere near the registration/arrival area, and just sat there until I asked if she wanted me to open her trunk to get my bag. She finally got out, opened the trunk and I lifted my case out of the car, handed her a $20 and ran for the hotel door because I was genuinely afraid that she might hit me on her way past. I have rarely in my life been in the company of an individual I consider dangerous and I was frightened enough to contact the management of Bell Cab to report the issue. They were apologetic and promised to pursue the matter and get back to me but several days have now passed with no feedback. I feel that I have a responsibility to warn others about this woman and hope that the company dispenses with her "services." read more
