I was in a rush, to a baby's baptism, I stopped by Harvey's in Bishop's Corner for the pre baptism party which I wanted to bring a bottle of wine to. As I walked inside a gentleman, for all I know he might be Harvey, came to assist me with selecting a wine. He told me about some of the taste profiles, he was very knowledgeable about the products in his store. Then I spotted a Chardonnay called Prayers of Saints. What's more fitting than this for a baptism? I didn't take my own advice, I got it based on the packaging. However, the gentleman did reassure me, this was a good pick. It's light and refreshing. There are also plenty of other liquors, beers and wine options at Harvey's. I would stop by when I need to pick up something for a gathering.

Bottle Stop is right between the huge Avon Goodwill Store and an auto parts dealer, and truth be told it looks small and fairly unimpressive from the parking lot. But once you go inside you'll see that the store is actually quite large and the aisles seem to go on forever. Their beer section is enormous, filling both sides of an aisle from the front of the store to the back. They sell quite a few single bottles so you can be adventurous and create your own six packs. We went to the bargain wine section and walked away with a nice Pinot Grigio for $3.99. Wandering the aisles and checking out their big inventory made me pretty sure they would have whatever I might need from a liquor store.

I later discovered that they were sampling all different wines every hour! It's probably for the best that i found out when i did, or this might have turned into a full-on wine review page.. Vino Crudo is a wonderful little shop that I will be directing all of my friends & family to from this day forward. This is not a liquor store, it is a carefully curated specialty wine shoppe, that if you give a chance, will most definately deliver. They have masterfully selected a collection of natural & organic wines from all over. While It is true that the wines sold reflect the owners taste; they are skillfully chosen. I liked to think of the experience as a guided tour through the world organic wines, with an expertised advisor leading the way. I loved all of the samples owner Luigi offered, with not a bad one in the bunch. In fact, i was willing to purchase 2 of the 4 choices on the spot! I even contemplated purchasing a 3rd. See? I told you it was a good thing I didn't know about the revolving taste test or i would have surely bought more than I could carry. His palate; like mine prefers bold & aromatically fruity, but not sweet & ever so slightly dry, but not too dry. This shop is the only natural organic wine shop I am aware of that is not online, & their wine selection is carefully curated. The shop has a hearty online presence through FB, Instagram, Yelp, as well as many other wonderful write-ups & for good reason. I would 100% return and recommend this shop every chance I get. FYI: They offer regular free wine tastings every Friday. BONUS: They are hosting a Wine Class on Sept 6th 2025 (that's in 2 weeks) at Elm Ridge Park in Rocky Hill from 4 to 6. I learned that Vino Crudo has recently opened and they carry specialty wines that are low intervention, natural wines. There is also a wine membership so definitely ask about that! They are located in Old Wethersfield and there's definitely lots of traffic here. I am so happy they opened this area. Can't wait to try what I got today!

The vibes and ambiance in the space are great, the bat has all the bottles on display of all the options, the menu has a great variety of unique and interesting cocktail interpretations. We got to chatting with Chris and learned so much from him, got to try so many interesting creations from Waypoint, which even led us to buying a couple bottles to take home! We now can't wait to go back again. Definitely going to be a new weekend spot when we want casual hangouts.

I placed an order over the phone and picked it up. fine experience, and i thought the selection was nice; made a note to return when in the area. obviously the other big background we all know is that Covid is still a big deal so i try very hard to give everyone more than 6' of personal room, and expect the same, especially from staff. i wear mask always when in shops and downtown areas. this past 1st weekend of April, i found another bottle on their site i wanted and decided to stop in. it was midday on Friday, four men are inside, none seem to be shopping, but none greet me. i recognize one as the man who was there last time and he's the shortest one so we'll call him Shorty. not seeing the bottle i sought, i caught attention of one of the men and asked: 'are you shopping or do you work here?' he didn't really reply so much as throw up his hands and look confused, but then Shorty yelled from the front, 'i can help you, sir' and rushed back. He immediately got within 6' of me. i began backing up, and he kept up with me until i said, 'could i please have 6' of space'. this seemed to irritate him, but he went to look for the bottle. i wanted to check out their Loire chenin, and once the aisle was clear i went in. after a few moments of browsing i go to leave and see that one of the men is standing at the end of aisle to my right. just standing there. ok... i turn left. another man is standing at that end of the aisle too. again, just standing there. there is no room to get out. then, i notice that the other two employees are in the aisles above and below my aisle. so in a (est.) 40' x 25' space, EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE is within approx. 6' and i have no where to go. i'm a little frustrated, but i stay calm and say, 'guys, i need some more space please. i can't leave the aisle right now. could i get some more space please?' the wardens at the end of the aisle move, but Shorty screams, 'WE HAVE TO DO BUSINESS HERE, SIR.' (the sir is dripping with disdain in his tone.) i turn and say, 'Why are you yelling at me? I understand business; I just wanted space." he repeats: ''WE HAVE TO DO BUSINESS HERE, SIR.' 'do you always scream at customers? do you think i want to shop here now?' he's a broken record, 'WE HAVE TO DO BUSINESS HERE, SIR.' he is incredibly hostile, irrationally so. meanwhile, none of the other employees seem to think this inappropriate. i will admit, i lost my cool here and crossed a line. i told him to go fuck himself. to this another employee says, 'well now we're not going to sell you anything'. my reply, 'fuck all of you too; i do not want to shop here!' i am sorry that i swore at you all, but the outright disrespect and hostility i encountered pushed me over the edge. BUYER BEWARE. STAY AWAY.
