The new shop boosts an impressive array of Ale & Lager coolers with a chilled behind-the-scenes browsing space. Ample shelf and floor displays for the bottled spirits and wines. What made this one stand out to me though is that it had exactly what I was looking for. I had been searching for a specific rum all over CT now that not even total wine had (and they have everything) so I was pleasantly surprised when i found it. Even more so by how friendly the guy behind the counter was, he said if there was anything I ever wanted all I had to do was ask and he could get it for me, and that is exactly the type of customer service you can expect at this place. The layout itself is really nice, very well kept and clean, if you need cash theres an atm, and theres a bag policy too so make sure not to bring in a big bag unless you want to leave it at the counter. There's also a website and app for added convenience, and they host events sometimes too. Truly a one stop shop for all your liquor needs, specialty or otherwise.

I've visited Capital Spirits a couple of times since they're pretty much the only liquor store Downtown (jazz fest, Pratt events, etc). Last night I was on Pratt to watch the Yard Goats game and we decided to go inside. The staff was super friendly and helpful, even when there was some indecisive minds in my group. I was able to find some pretty affordable sake, and the cashier even suggested some new and popular wines that they have, which I thought was nice.

As a tangent, good on them--and a lot of other places for that matter--for spending the time on the phone with me answering question about stock and policies...in this case, specifically that you can get any craft beer as a single. The guy added that you also get a 10% discount on single prices if you buy four, and there prices were fair to begin with IMO. Don't fooled by the cooler cases and be sure to step into the beer cave to see the full selection! Super nice, super helpful, good prices, great selection--not much to say about the decor! I think I will be back in West Hartford, and when I do, this will be my shop.

The vibes and ambiance in the space are great, the bat has all the bottles on display of all the options, the menu has a great variety of unique and interesting cocktail interpretations. We got to chatting with Chris and learned so much from him, got to try so many interesting creations from Waypoint, which even led us to buying a couple bottles to take home! We now can't wait to go back again. Definitely going to be a new weekend spot when we want casual hangouts.

My favorite was the vanilla vodka - which was very smooth, and has great flavor. We also got a charcuterie for two- and it was extremely good.. the cheese was fresh and so were the meats and fruits. After the flight, I decided to get a drink. I got the Hurricane which was made with their rum and was exactly what you would expect. My bf got the Boulevardier and really enjoyed it.. he said it had a full and oaky flavor and really enjoyed it. This is definitely a hidden gem.. and I think everyone needs to come here!! The bartender was personable, and definitely did not make us feel uncomfortable. He was funny and was very friendly. There is also not an outdoor are we didn't get a chance to sit in but looked beautiful. The atmosphere itself is warm, welcoming and very clean.
