They brought out this dip and large chip that was delicious, and the cocktails were excellent. We shared the hoja Santa, which was basically like a large green with cheese in between in a bed of delicious salsa. We then got some squash soup and my husband got a steak. Everything was absolutely amazing and loved being in the heart of Coyoacán. Highly recommend!

We'd eaten at their other location in Oaxaca and needed a bite to eat after we landed and checked in at our hotel. We arrived around 9pm on a Wednesday, and it was lively and a little busy, but we were able to be seated directly. I ordered a Mexican rosé wine, and my husband had a couple of cocktails. We enjoyed all the drinks we ordered. The food I was a little less happy with. My husband got the enmoladas de pato (heirloom corn cortillas stuffed with confit duck and covered in black mole on one and green mole on the other, with aged cheese and pickled onions. The dish was pretty good, easily the best of the night. I had the Ceviche Verde (fish cured in salt and marinated in citrus juice, oregaon, and herb pesto) and the Tostada de huitlacoche (a tostada with huitlacoche confited in olive oil and herbs and creamed avocado). The ceviche was fine (cutting it in smaller pieces might have led to it being a bit more tender and easy to eat), but I didn't enjoy the tostada. Rather than being a tostada with huitacoche on top of it (as the menu and my instincts suggested), it was about two cups of huitlacoche in a bowl with a tostata laid over the top. The portion of huitlacoche was kind of crazy (way too much for the single tostada it was served with), and I thought it needed more done to it? It tasted like huitlacoche straight out of the can (I'm sure it wasn't, but it needed some additional flavor and spice). The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The service was very good, and the restaurant is stunning. Like the Oaxaca location, Los Danzantes in Coyoacán is in a beautiful building, with stunning character and design. It wasn't the best meal I've had in Mexico City, but it was beautiful and the service was great. I'd definitely return for drinks and its great ambiance and service.

Los Danzantes - Sample of moles, manager brought out for us to try. Definitely better tasting than the dishes we orginally ordered.

Don't forget to try the gras hoppers, yes they are on the menu and quite good. The drinks were good, especially the margaritas. I walked to the tranquil downtown Coyoacan area and saw La Casa de los Tacos was open, so porque no? The girls were so nice. And they were open with a few diners inside. It was kind of empty and chill, but the ambiance was festive and exciting due to the music and activities going on in el parque nearby. I was so hungry I wanted to eat everything, so I got the tacos con chapulines (HELLA FIRE) and a side plate of arroz con platanos. I also ordered a beer, but that never came out. Their salsas are hella good. Especially that insane truffle one, who knew! It was SO good. The pan fried platanos were so delicious and the perfect little craving I needed for a sweet treat afterwards. They accept cash and card, and make sure you tip you extranjero/turista!

We came here to try a different restaurant on this block since we always go to Los Danzantes (highly recommend). My coworker selected it because she saw it had Italian food, which should've been the first red flag. I was excited by a seasonal menu of moles from the different regions of Mexico and ordered a mole negro. It was pretty good, but nothing special for the high prices. They had a really nice patio so we were seated outside, which seemed nice at first but street vendors were absolutely hounding us the entire time we ate. We had at least 10 people come up to our table and ask us to buy their items and even after politely declining, they would keep insisting until I had to be firm. The service was fine, but Mexico City is well known for having exceptional service and considering there were 4-5 servers all standing in the corner chatting, I expected our server to be a little more attentive.

Honestly it's not that expensive and the Italian sausage here is imported from Italy itself. The employees here are very friendly and are great people over all. The owner of this place seems like he's very proud of this place and I could see why. The lettuce and strawberries here are grown here and everything is fresh. I wish I could come here often but I live in California but I'll come here every chance I get. This place deserves more recognition and is a great place overall. We don't drink so most of the other places lining the strip seemed like loud drinking establishments. The menu listed Salmon and so we being salmon junkies took to it. It was fabulous... not medium but ever so slightly under cooked as it, and pasta should be. The salad was wonderful as they hydroponically grow their own lettuce on site. We were greeted by a wonderful man named Aldo who was the proud owner and incredibly engaging. His people were from Italy and their is a story to be heard if you ask him about his grandfather renting his home to Trotsky while he was in exile in Coyoacon. A little out of the way, use Google maps if needed, to find it! Well worth the effort... Also try the Tiramisu, it was light, fluffy and not too sweet!

I really liked the fish tacos and the tuna in mango sauce! The ceviche, I wished I went with the original style! The waiter told us that one was really spicy so we tried the one in coconut base instead and that was way too sweet! The quality of the ceviche was really good but I'm not into sweet tasting/flavor food so that was a big disappointment for me. I squeezed so much lime in it but it still didn't help.
