Swedish style breakfast skillet
Sam A.

Ambiance -wise I think this was my favorite restaurant in all of CDMX. We actually came here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. For breakfast I ordered the swedish style chicken enchilada skillet which had a very mild tomato sauce on it. If you're looking for a huge punch of flavor I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but it was still delicious (and I was getting over some food poisoning so the almost bland -ness was appreciated). The infused peach tea and Cafe de olla were great. For dinner, I recommend the tres mole enchiladas. Really nice staff, great location in the park, A+.

I took 2 trips here during my 2 weeks in CDMX. 1st time on my own and had a full meal, second time with a friend and we had drinks and an appetizer. The service on my 1st trip left something to be desired. The waiter was not very friendly nor did he check in on me. Felt like he considered me a nuisance which is never a good feeling. The waiter on our second trip was delightful, super friendly, and attentive. The 2 cocktails were mezcal punch (the clear one) and the carajillo criollo (second one with whipped cream). Both were perfect but the second one is more of a dessert FYI. The fried shrimp taco that came out burning over coals was a super cool presentation but the dish overall lacked flavor and the cauliflower was an in between brand of not chewy and not crunchy. The tlayuda de arranchera was perfection on the steak side but the rest of the dish was just meh. I think getting just the arranchera is the way to go. The appetizer is the pescadillas which was delicious. The ambiance of this place whether you sit inside or outside feels very romantic and warm.

It is really damn good. Go. You won't regret it. Quality: 5 Value: 4 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 Corozan de Maguey is popular and famous for a reason: it's what every great restaurant should be. The service is fast and friendly, the food and drink menus are both great (and they have a great range of options), and the entire restaurant is like an art exhibit. The mole is phenomenal! The sopas are also phenomenal. Breakfast was a little less good (molletes and the enchiladas skillet) Only complaint: it is pricey. You can find similarly delicious food elsewhere for a better price. That said, you have to hunt high and low for that deliciousness, and it won't have the same ambiance.

Okay this review is long over due! My friend and I were exploring the cathedral and artistry markets - along the way we came across this restaurant. We didn't think much of it as there is so many to choose from with tourist like us. But first impressions: the decor and vibes were amazing! Everything was very nice and it had more like a dark romantic vibes - a great place to bring a date for sure! Food: I ordered the mole! It was one of my top moles the green salsa had more of a spicier flavor but not so much and the red mole had a bit more of a sweeter taste! The chicken was soft and tender as well, dipped it with the tortillas - it was chefs kiss! My gawd it was so good! I savored every last bit! Service: Our waiter was really nice! He recommended us drinks and at the end of the night gave us some recommendations of other places to check out! Definitely a great impression! Worth checking it out! Everything was just chefs kiss!

Corazon de Maguey is so good, and so unique, that I'd call it a destination for lunch or dinner in Mexico City. I was spending a Friday in Coyoacan with my guy and we were loving the plaza and performances. We were hungry and this came up and didn't feel as touristy as the other restaurants lining the parks. They do have english menus and bilingual staff (I won't get into details, but our service was limited due to an uncontrollable emergency that day). The decor is outrageously beautiful and very Mexican, with bright colors and details everywhere. We had an amazing meal with new flavors and textures from parts of Mexico I hadn't even heard of, and I know a lot about the country. We started with an avocado taco that came on a lava stone grill with avocado leaves burning to give it a special scent. I loved the contrasting textures, smooth and crisp. My guy had the classic black mole with a beef protein that he had never tried before and really enjoyed. I tasted it and it was proper, 20+ ingredient slow-cooked mole with only a slight hint of chocolate. I had a tlayuda, a crisp tortilla base with a black bean spread and fresh grilled veggies. It was complex and had that contrasting textures thing again that I love. You really can't go wrong with the seasonal, traditional, regional and flavorful dishes at Corazon de Maguey over in Coyoacan!

I came to this place after searching on Yelp palaces to eat in Coyoacán. I order their 3 color enchiladas and let me tell you !!!!! it did not disappoint me. I loved every bite of it. My favorite was the black mole. I did not take pictures of the food. I was so hungry. The service was great, my server explained to me about the food and their Origen so 5/5. The place is located in the center of the city in front of a beautiful park . The ambience is amazing, they have music and the place itself is beautiful

We enjoyed a lunch on the patio of Corazon de Maguey on our day in Coyoacan. In fact, it was one of the highlights of our Coyoacan day! We shared the salbutes de cochinita, which were delicious. The cochinita was wonderful - a little picante - and the salbutes were great. A delicious starter! My husband had the enchiladas tres colores (with cheese), which he enjoyed. But I loved my dish - their empipianadas with flaked fish, pipian, pepitas, and cheese. I would eat it again and again. We had a few drinks too - a glass of pulque natural, several of their great cocktail - La Magara, and a cafe de olla to finish the meal. The restaurant is cool inside, but the patio was lovely. We definitely had a longer/lazier lunch than I had planned for, because it was so comfortable there. The service wasn't the best (just hard to get attention when wanting to order something else or the check), but they were busy! It's a popular place. I thought the drinks, food, and atmosphere were top notch. I'd happily return!

Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday while exploring the Coyoacan neighborhood. They had their stuffed chile relleno on special that came with a decadent walnut sauce. Very different than anything I had ever tried before and very enjoyable. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant itself has a nice covered patio and indoor area, but it is quite popular so it fills up even at "off hours".

I quite liked eating here! My grilled salmon was excellent and my partner enjoyed some green mole chicken a lot, though she had to ask for added hot sauce. Environment is nice, a bit clubby but still sultry.

Enmoladas

Stunning restaurant, beautiful plating, spectacular food. I tried their "esquites esquineros" (corn kernels prepared with grated cheese, mayonnaise, orange marmalade and spicy Tarascan salsa), the "chile relleno" (a poblano chili stuffed with grilled zucchini, corn kernels and epazote, served with pickled red onions over a black bean sauce), and the "enmoladas" (corn tortillas filled with chicken, bathed in black mole sauce, and drizzled with Mexican crema). Everything was delicious but I was obsessed with the chile relleno. The flavors complemented each other perfectly. Highly recommend treating yourself to a wonderful meal at Corazón de Maguey if you're in Coyoacan.

Ate here on a busy Friday night. The staff got me a table quickly! I ordered Beet Empanada's and Hibiscus Taquitos and the food was incredible. I also enjoyed a house margarita that was perfect. Very quite location, it was relaxing, will visit next time I am in Mexico City!

Had this spot bookmarked for my trip to Mexico City so imagine my surprise and smiling face when my friend took me here! It is kinda loud so if you are looking for an intimate type of restaurant with a quiet ambiance, yeah, I wouldn't recommend this spot. The bright red interior and split level setting reminded me of a nightclub complete with loud music and bustling staff. Overlooking the local park, you can have seating either indoors or facing the open air. If you do the latter, be prepared for beggars, artists and merchants to come up to you to sell their wares/services. Daughter ordered the pumpkin seed salad - loved the touch of squash flowers that came with it. I got the jamaica (hibiscus) flautas and assorted tlayudas with various meat (like mini tostadas). Also had one of their mezcal cocktails which was waaaaaaayyyy too sweet. In fact, I found that most of the cocktails here tend to lean towards too sugary for my taste. It was my first night here and I was extremely jet lagged and tired, but the music kept me up as well as the high energy of the place!

Service was lacking even though it was not busy. Guacamole lacked flavor. Mole was good & fish taco appetizer was nice. Margarita was ok.

Though there was a Spanish speaker with me, we appreciate the staff also speaking English to help me. Always love the aesthetic and elegant vibes this restaurant has. Low lighting does make it a little harder to see. Food is always so flavorful especially for their vegan options. Portions are pretty large In my opinion. I also appreciate wine and mezcal options from vineyards and distilleries throughout Mexico.

We'd eaten at their other location in Oaxaca and needed a bite to eat after we landed and checked in at our hotel. We arrived around 9pm on a Wednesday, and it was lively and a little busy, but we were able to be seated directly. I ordered a Mexican rosé wine, and my husband had a couple of cocktails. We enjoyed all the drinks we ordered. The food I was a little less happy with. My husband got the enmoladas de pato (heirloom corn cortillas stuffed with confit duck and covered in black mole on one and green mole on the other, with aged cheese and pickled onions. The dish was pretty good, easily the best of the night. I had the Ceviche Verde (fish cured in salt and marinated in citrus juice, oregaon, and herb pesto) and the Tostada de huitlacoche (a tostada with huitlacoche confited in olive oil and herbs and creamed avocado). The ceviche was fine (cutting it in smaller pieces might have led to it being a bit more tender and easy to eat), but I didn't enjoy the tostada. Rather than being a tostada with huitacoche on top of it (as the menu and my instincts suggested), it was about two cups of huitlacoche in a bowl with a tostata laid over the top. The portion of huitlacoche was kind of crazy (way too much for the single tostada it was served with), and I thought it needed more done to it? It tasted like huitlacoche straight out of the can (I'm sure it wasn't, but it needed some additional flavor and spice). The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The service was very good, and the restaurant is stunning. Like the Oaxaca location, Los Danzantes in Coyoacán is in a beautiful building, with stunning character and design. It wasn't the best meal I've had in Mexico City, but it was beautiful and the service was great. I'd definitely return for drinks and its great ambiance and service.

I walked to the tranquil downtown Coyoacan area and saw La Casa de los Tacos was open, so porque no? The girls were so nice. And they were open with a few diners inside. It was kind of empty and chill, but the ambiance was festive and exciting due to the music and activities going on in el parque nearby. I was so hungry I wanted to eat everything, so I got the tacos con chapulines (HELLA FIRE) and a side plate of arroz con platanos. I also ordered a beer, but that never came out. Their salsas are hella good. Especially that insane truffle one, who knew! It was SO good.
