    a food truck at night
    Steven D.

We used to get late night tacos here for more than 10 years. Few days ago, we came here around 11pm to get some tacos after drinks. First of all, the lady getting orders was not too friendly. Maybe she was tired. Second, they don't make their own tortilla, which they used to. And hot sauce was an ass burner the next morning. Anyway, it wasn't a good experience. Maybe we had such good time for years previously, we were expecting more. Next time, we will go to the one in Olympic & Normandie. I heard that they have good food & good vibes.

Honestly the best quesillo burrito I had in a long time.. this place is good! perfect example how food trucks are better than most places.

Tacos here did not miss. Could tell the stand was family-owned and operated, and they were all super nice to my friends and me even though it was super late at night. $2 / taco and they came with all the right toppings. Also, if you like spice, this place has probably the spiciest salsa I've ever gotten from a taco stand.

Came here completely randomly, while my brother, boyfriend, and I were on the search for a late-night taco binge. Saw this random taco truck with a crowded line and I immediately made an illegal U-turn and almost ran through a red light. The danger I encounter for food.. After my brother yelled at me until we parked, we lined up to order Tacos de: buche, asada, al pastor, carnitas, and lengua. They hand press the corn tortillas, making them piping hot and fresh to order: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7uPtiieYpyUaca9W6waqtw?select=2xs3j-8eAMU-zekpDi_Opg Hmmm, I want a tortilla press!! I recommend the tacos than burritos. I noticed that the burrito is mostly packed with black beans, while there was tasty and soft meat, just not enough. Get the tacos ($1.25)!! My brother said it was one of the best lengua and al pastor tacos he's had in a while. I think they also specialize in quesadillas. La Tehuana is usually located next to a parking lot of a Lucy's Laundromat and a movie rental store, but they aren't stingy about parking and/or loitering there. That parking lot was our dining room and my car hood was my dining table: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7uPtiieYpyUaca9W6waqtw?select=lVldbVekIUJX1snZpmKJxQ Oh.. and the red sauce is spicy but kinda weak. The green sauce is DELICIOUS, and still spicy ;) A solid choice for a late night snack!

I'm not going to make this review fancy; I think if you give this taco truck a shot, the food will speak for itself. $1.25 for a taco? Great price to pay to get through the gates to taco heaven. Corn tortillas from scratch (you can see the woman making it from the window), awesome salsa bar so you can take as much as you want, and great flavors from the meat to the spices! I've tried their carne asada, carnitas, and tacos al pastor (shepherd-style tacos). Incase you're unfamiliar with this type of taco, it's made with thin pork steaks seasoned with adobada seasonings, skewered, and overlapped on one another, rotisserie cooked, and flame broiled. Delicious, I say! I generally pass by the La Tehuana truck at night while they're parked on 3rd and Normandie. Please go try their tacos for yourself and taste for yourself what a GREAT taco is supposed to taste like! ;) GOOD EATIN'!

Carnitas tacos...under a mound of salsa and lettuce!

Taco truck in Koreatown, right on 3rd street. They make corn tortillas from scratch in front of your EYES. The only downfall is that no one speaks english... It's only an issue because I don't know a word of spanish. They have things written in spanish so my boyfriend and I just ordered 4 tacos using horrible pronunciation and google translator... First world problems for sure. The tacos were two chicken, pork, and beef and it costs about $6 or $7. I really had my heart set on lengua (tongue apparently) but they were out. At least I understood her saying "no, no, no"! You can add your own toppings there and aside from tacos they have quesadillas, burritos, and tortas. I'll definitely be adding this place to the dinner rotation since it's two blocks from my house!

We kicked things off with the queso fundido, and wow, it was absolutely delicious! Rich, melty, and packed with flavor, it was the perfect way to start the evening. For my entrée, I ordered the cochinita pibil, which was incredibly tender and saucy in the best way. My husband ordered the short rib, and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On the side, we shared the papas bravas and esquite, both of which complemented our dishes perfectly. The drinks truly elevated the night. My husband and I both love mezcal, and Kateen delivered. I ordered the Valentine's Day "Zona Romántica," which featured mezcal and wine almost like a sangria, but completely unique and beautifully balanced. My husband had the "Gypsy Fever," also mezcal-based, and it was smoky, smooth, and refreshing. Between the food, cocktails, and ambiance, it made for such a romantic and memorable evening. We'll absolutely be back!!

This time, we decided to give it another shot since it has so many good reviews, and I'm glad we did. The ambiance was much better, with nice Tulum-style vibes and music that really set the mood. From the moment we walked in, service was great. We were greeted and seated right away thanks to our reservation. Our waitress, Brenda, was friendly, attentive, and super helpful in explaining the menu and recommending drinks. She checked in often and made sure everything came out quickly. The food was good overall, though the menu is a bit limited if you don't eat meat or seafood. I was especially looking forward to the fish tacos, but it seems like they've been removed from the menu. One thing I really appreciated was the mocktail options. Perfect if you're not drinking but still want something fun. The Wes Colada is a great pick if you like piña colada type drinks, though it is on the sweeter side. The michelada was also really well done, with a nice balance of savory and sour. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot for a date night or a girls' night out.

Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us.
