    Quesillo Burrito

Honestly the best quesillo burrito I had in a long time.. this place is good! perfect example how food trucks are better than most places.

    Chorizo, al pastor, asada tacos

Tacos here did not miss. Could tell the stand was family-owned and operated, and they were all super nice to my friends and me even though it was super late at night. $2 / taco and they came with all the right toppings. Also, if you like spice, this place has probably the spiciest salsa I've ever gotten from a taco stand.

    Parking lot pimping

Came here completely randomly, while my brother, boyfriend, and I were on the search for a late-night taco binge. Saw this random taco truck with a crowded line and I immediately made an illegal U-turn and almost ran through a red light. The danger I encounter for food.. After my brother yelled at me until we parked, we lined up to order Tacos de: buche, asada, al pastor, carnitas, and lengua. They hand press the corn tortillas, making them piping hot and fresh to order: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7uPtiieYpyUaca9W6waqtw?select=2xs3j-8eAMU-zekpDi_Opg Hmmm, I want a tortilla press!! I recommend the tacos than burritos. I noticed that the burrito is mostly packed with black beans, while there was tasty and soft meat, just not enough. Get the tacos ($1.25)!! My brother said it was one of the best lengua and al pastor tacos he's had in a while. I think they also specialize in quesadillas. La Tehuana is usually located next to a parking lot of a Lucy's Laundromat and a movie rental store, but they aren't stingy about parking and/or loitering there. That parking lot was our dining room and my car hood was my dining table: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/7uPtiieYpyUaca9W6waqtw?select=lVldbVekIUJX1snZpmKJxQ Oh.. and the red sauce is spicy but kinda weak. The green sauce is DELICIOUS, and still spicy ;) A solid choice for a late night snack!

I'm not going to make this review fancy; I think if you give this taco truck a shot, the food will speak for itself. $1.25 for a taco? Great price to pay to get through the gates to taco heaven. Corn tortillas from scratch (you can see the woman making it from the window), awesome salsa bar so you can take as much as you want, and great flavors from the meat to the spices! I've tried their carne asada, carnitas, and tacos al pastor (shepherd-style tacos). Incase you're unfamiliar with this type of taco, it's made with thin pork steaks seasoned with adobada seasonings, skewered, and overlapped on one another, rotisserie cooked, and flame broiled. Delicious, I say! I generally pass by the La Tehuana truck at night while they're parked on 3rd and Normandie. Please go try their tacos for yourself and taste for yourself what a GREAT taco is supposed to taste like! ;) GOOD EATIN'!

Good street tacos. Great portions and the salsa is really good. Also get the season grilled onions on the side

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was presented really well. The enchiladas were flavorful, the grilled fish was cooked perfectly, and the tortillas with the short rib were a table favorite. Portions were great for sharing, and the sauces really tied everything together. Service was friendly and our server checked in on us throughout the night without making us feel rushed. It did get a little busy, so there were a few waits between courses, but nothing that took away from the experience. Overall Great atmosphere, solid food, and a fun place for birthdays or date nights. I'd definitely come back!!

Our waiter then told us we needed a specific Dine LA reservation, something that was never mentioned when I called or when I made the reservation. I've been to plenty of Dine LA restaurants and have never experienced this. The service wasn't necessarily bad, but it was very dismissive. No apology, no real explanation--they basically just brushed it off. Thankfully, the food saved the night! The Michelada oysters were TO DIE FOR--seriously one of the best oyster flavors I've ever had. We also had the short rib plate, which was delicious. The outdoor atmosphere and decor are really cute too. I would come back, but ONLY for those oysters--definitely not for the service.

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.
