Absolutely delicious mangu and queso frito. The lady behind the counter was super nice. I will try the cassava next time.

If you're looking for delicious, authentic Latin food, El Típico on Canal Street in Nashua is…read moredefinitely worth trying! This is a small restaurant with a huge variety of choices. It's not a self-serve buffet but you simply tell them what you'd like, and they prepare your plate. My go-to is the rice and beans with pulled pork, marinated chicken, and sweet plantains, and everything is always perfectly seasoned and tastes fresh. They also offer seafood, vegetables, empanadas, roasted chicken, desserts, and plenty of other options. The portions are very generous, especially for the price, making this a great affordable meal. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast. The only downside is that parking can be limited. However, there is additional parking available in the Margaritas restaurant adjoining parking lot, which makes it easier. Overall, great food, generous portions, affordable prices, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. A little hidden gem in Nashua that I highly recommend!!!

I have no problem with the fact that the floors were filthy, the TV was blasting, the tables were dirty, the garbage was overflowing, and the service was cold. It was the fact that the food was terrible. The keyword is "dry". So much so that it was all really inedible. Yes, the food was dirt cheap. But you get what you pay for. I'm sorry Dominicanas, if this is typical then I feel bad for you. Maybe I was supposed to go to Pollo Tipico? I'll have to ask my friends.

After a long afternoon of shopping, my friends and I built up and appetite. We wanted something…read morequick that would calm our hunger for the drive home to RI. One of my friends was more familiar with the area and recommended we come here. She ordered a plate of fried pork with tostones, some guisado de res, and white rice. The total was around $20 which was fair for the portion sizes. The guisado was a bit oily but the flavor was really good and the meat was very tender. Since the tostones did not come with a sauce, we ended up dunking them in the guisado. The tostones were on the thicker side but crispy and tasty. The fried pork was good, although maybe a little bland. The lime helped a little bit with bringing out the flavor. The white rice was good. They offer a small, medium, and large portion - small was good as a snack for 3 people. I would come back and try more of their menu items. They have a parking lot, but it was packed and the snow didn't help. There is also street parking. It is in a lively part of town, so I enjoyed people watching while eating in the car.

There's a large dining/ bar area and a takeout side with a few tables. We ordered the sancocho and rabo guisado (Oxtails), with white rice and plantains. The sancocho was pretty good. It had a lot of meat and vegetables, the white rice was perfectly cooked. I thought the sancocho had a bit too much garlic in the seasoning, but it was still great, especially since it was rainy and a bit chilly. The Oxtails were simply amazing! They were extremely tender and practically falling off the bone. The sauce was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the white rice. I've never had Oxtails this good at a restaurant. They tasted just like when mom recipe takes hours and hours to make since you want to cook it long enough for the meat to become tender. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food came pretty quickly. Prices were very reasonable. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely return and order the Oxtails.

And when you tell them that's not what you ordered, the very rude waitress will tell you "tough luck, that's how they make it at this establishment", with no attempt to rectify the issue. When you separate your sides from the meat onto another plate and tell her that you really don't want the meat portion of your plate because that's not what you ordered, the very rude waitress will take your plate and will also punish you by aggressively taking the plate of your sides away too... yes, even though you told her you wanted to keep the sides. When she comes back to your table to check on the rest of your party, she will ignore you, even if your cup is empty simply for speaking up about food that you ordered that you ultimately would have to pay for with the money that in this economy, absolutely doesn't grow on trees. This establishment has VERY POOR customer service and the waitresses lack the necessary skills to work in the food industry. Do not spend your money here.
