I don't understand all the hype about this place!! I wasn't impressed at all. The parking lot is very hard to maneuver because there's so many big holes all around. I will say that there was a lot of people here standing in line to place their orders. I had three tacos de chicharon...unfortunately they were cold my husband had five tacos of cabeza, barbacoa and chicharon. He could not tell which of the tacos he got were cabeza. Pulled up for a late-ish (8PM) dinner on a Thursday night with a group of 6 and while there was a constant stream of people coming in, the line to order never piled up to more than 2-3 folks. It was super easy to snag a table and parking is also a breeze with a large lot out front. Once you pay for your order, they actually bring the food out to you and they have bottles of salsa available at every table, though the tacos are already plenty delicious without. We tried about 8 different types of tacos and the quality was pretty good, but the tripa and the chicharron were a bit of a miss for me. I prefer the two cuts to be a bit crispy for the texture, but instead they were chew in a bit of an unpleasant way and the tripa in particular didn't taste like it was thoroughly cleaned. The highlights were the gringa, which we tried with the chuleta, but I'm really just a sucker for a flour tortilla and cheese. The chuleta, lengua, and al pastor were solid, but the must get for me was the cachete (beef cheek), which was cooked to perfection with the fat completely rendered until it almost melted in your mouth. Horchata was solid with a strong rice flavor, not just cinnamon; it was a tad sweet, but paired nicely with everything else. read more

I live in oak lawn and these are the best tacos I've had within a 15min radius of my apartment. Expect to get authentic meat styles (suadero, birria, fajita, tinga, al pastor) along with some more unique takes like all the above meats cooked into a cheese. I also tried the ceviche tostadas which were pretty good but the tacos were the real standout. There are two of these places located not even a minute drive from one another. Decided to try the one that had more parking spaces available. Smelled so good once we got inside the place! It took longer to decide what to order than to actually get our order. Not even a minute after sitting down, they had our food ready. The tacos looked and smelled good! I loved the tacos!! They were made to how I asked for them to be cooked. I am not a fan of cilantro and I requested my tacos without. Normally the cook will grab cilantro and have cilantro still on his/her hands and then grab the onion and puts in taco leaving cilantro in the onion. Went here for lunch w/ some co-workers as they've been bragging about it for quite some time. It's a in a plaza, so as one can imagine it isn't a huge establishment but def. spaceish enough to sit at a table & enjoy your food. I ordered two tacos, one chicken one beef. I'd recommend getting the seasoned chicken taco because the other is very bland. But the beef is A1, and it comes with raw onions, cilantro and radish. I also did a tostada and wow. It was amazing. The crunch + cheese + beef just made it great overall. I would come back for this alone. Only reason I'm saying 4 stars is because it was difficult to order with me knowing little to no Spanish. My all time favorite taco place!! FIVE kinds of vegetarian tacos with actually amazing flavors (favorite is huitlacoche - mushroom and corn), tasty salsas that will make you tear up, and all $2 each. It is almost impossible to find a place this cheap, this fast, and this delicious. Their quesadillas are humungous and super yummy too. It's right next to Lake Bachman so on a sunny day I get tacos to go and eat at a park picnic table. The veggie options are huitlacoche, beans, mushrooms, nopales, and rajas, and usually I get all 5 because it's too hard to choose! Love love love this place.
