We happened upon Cal Ticus while on a spur of the moment trip to Sant Sadurni and needless to say we are glad we did. The restaurant itself has a clean, modern aesthetic which clashes with the rest of the sleepy little town yet not in a bad way. See, most tourists are bussed in (or take a train) from Barcelona and head straight to the cava producers and skip over this charming little town entirely. That being said, it doesn't look like the town caters to tourists much so I take their modern design is there in part to make a statement in the ways of "Hey there stranger. Stop in here. We're here for you." If that makes sense. It looks like the pre-fixe menu changes daily so there's no need for me to get into specifics about the dishes we had. The food was divine save for the chicken breast which was a bit dry and boring. Especially so in light of the other courses. Their paella was by far the best we've ever had. Still, all in all it was one of our favorite dining experiences on our vacation. The owner (or manager?) is very professional and accommodating yet very busy. There was a very nice young man who we had serving us that emanated so much warmth and hospitality that he made us feel like honored guests at his home. The two of them are not oil and water but yin and yang which offer a very nice dynamic for the patron. If you find yourself in Sant Sadurni for a cava tour, stop in here before or after your tour for an excellent dining experience.

Service was friendly and amazing. Our waitress couldn't be sweeter. We sat outside- quiet for a Sunday afternoon but modern restaurant interior in a quaint Catalan town. Please go. You won't be disappointed.

We ordered 6 tapas, a dessert, and drinks. The service was friendly and very prompt, especially when you consider the place was packed. While noisy, that added to the atmosphere. You MUST eat here, if in Sitges!!

Fantastic Start to a Sitges Vacation…read more My wife had never had a proper tapas meal before arriving in Sitges, Spain. Because of the reviews we saw online, we knew that El Cable Bar was one place that we simply could not miss. Our bike ride to El Cable was easy. There are plenty of places to lock them up on trees lining the streets leading to the restaurant. When you walk inside, it might be busy, as this is a popular place for people who know about the restaurant. We sat down and were immediately served. Price-wise, everything looks good- not too expensive for drinks, and reasonable for the food. Move any closer to the beach, and I'm certain these prices go up by at least 50% for the same or fewer portions. I happily order patatas bravas, a sirloin and eggplant combo, another eggplant tapas, and fingers de pollo. From the tinto de verano to every last tapas, it was all simple, yet delicious. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Sitges, Spain. It's the perfect way to kickstart your vacation.

With reservations a must, six of us finally got to try La Picara. There are a variety of tapas, ponchos and raciones on their menu. We tried a lot of them, and everything was delicious with the possible exception of Sepia a la Plancha, grilled squid which was too tough and chewy. Do NOT neglect to see their "Suggeriments fora de Carta" on a chalkboard. Most every off-the-chart suggestion we tried was exceptional, with my favorite actually being Tomaquets de Temporada amp Burratina í old D'Alfabrega. This was probably the best Burrata and Tomatoes serving I've ever tasted. It must be their spiced basil oil. The other standout special was a delicious Pintxo de Foie a la Plantxa, luxurious grilled foie gras skewer. A couple of drag queens came in promoting their show. They were a hoot at our table. Paola, the owner, was so kind and gracious. Service was fantastic. La Picara is definitely a must try during your time in Sitges!

They had free WiFi so it also a great spot to stop and help us gather our thoughts and make a plan of action. They are located across the street from the beach. Great views of the seagulls and the sand. The service was great and with the warm weather it was nice to have a seat outside. The winds picked up and blew over several of the large umbrellas. The food was very different from my norms but it was pretty good. We had hamburguesas which was a pink meat, jamón con queso between two hard pieces of bread and some fried calamari. Once again service was great and made my experience at this restaurant a very positive one

Our server fortunately spoke a little English so our English and broken Spanish helped us throughout our visit. Menus were available in both English and Spanish. The choices varied between hot and cold items, sandwiches and hot plated food. We split an appetizer of fried calamari which was golden and cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. My daughter and I had a cheeseburger with fries. The fries were good but I'm a well done girl, my burger needed to stay on the grill for 10 more minutes. Service was efficient and friendly and prices were reasonable. However, some of the outside seating area canopy kept falling down and blowing over causing them to move people around.
