The chicken flautas preparados are my favorite. $3 for the flauta covered with lettuce, pico, cotija cheese and crema, and it's delicious. The bakery gets rave reviews from everyone I know who shops here. And I love the refrigerated section...There is a lot of variety. I don't love the produce section, it's amazing for unique items, but I cannot buy berries here ever...Always over ripe. Check them out though, definitely lots of authentic items to try.

I picked up the cuerito salad, nopales salad, chicharrón en salsa verde, guisado de res, and two tamales to go. Everything looked fresh and homemade. What really stood out was the customer service. The employee helping me at the fresh food counter was incredibly kind and even let me sample the tamales beforehand to make sure l liked them before purchasing. That level of hospitality really made the experience memorable. I came in for one

If you're looking for choice, Meijer's does feel very much like a mix of Walmart and Target together -- or like a slightly more upscale version of Woodman's. So you can find most anything you're looking for in this store with generally competitive prices. Like every other enormous store, they can sometimes suffer from inconsistency -- particularly in terms of food -- where the quality and pricing isn't necessarily as good as you might expect from peer superstores. Having the enormous choice can help mitigate some of this due to having such a large variety of available items at different price points. Overall though, the shopping experience is pleasant and the selection is massive. There's everything one needs to make this a one stop shop for all your grocery and other needs.

However, Ivanna at the deli counter is by far the best I have encountered since the store opened. I believe that employees should be recognized for exceptional service when it is deserved. Ivanna always greets customers with a smile and is eager to assist them. I hope management acknowledges her efforts and recognizes her outstanding service. Great employees are hard to find and retain. Rosa in the bakery department is unfortunately at the other end of the spectrum. Rosa is so rude and unhelpful that my wife avoids the bakery department completely! I, on the other hand, will not let one rude and unprofessional employee keep me from any department in that store. I have asked Rosa time and time again for assistance in getting fresh bread, only to be told that there is none available to bake (even though I can see there is in the background) or that they first have to sell what is in the baskets. Both are incorrect answers to a customer. I run my own business, and my employees know that the customer is always right. I only hope that management corrects this problem promptly, because one toxic employee can ruin the rest of the team.
