Outstanding small restaurant in Chantilly. Possibly a father and son team. We had the fixed prix menu for 35 euros. I started with the foir grois that was great. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with a calvados sauce to die for on toast. 2 nice portion pieces. Small salad to clean the palate of fresh greens and cherry tomatoes. My wife had an escargot in a type of gratin that complimented the escargot, not overwhelm in the hands of a lesser chef.
The mains were excellent! My wife had a shrimp risotto using a shrimp reduction to give rice ample flavor and topped with a toasted garlic chip. Great depth of flavor. I had a Guinea fowl with a vegetable gratin, fingerling potatoes and a nice sauce used as the base of the dish. I was in heaven.
Desserts were basic but just right. I had a fondant with cream that was perfect. My wife had pears in cream that were lovely.
Quality of the meal easily outdistanced the price paid. Coupe of Champaign and glass of wine with a carafe of tap water finished the meal.
Try it if you go to visit the chateau or the stables. Hope you agree it's great. read more
