Seafood soup and chile verde
Mike S.

Service was friendly that's about the only positive thing about this place. Why is there ketchup in your salsa? I'm Mexican and I felt insulted by this grossness. The food was pretty bland all around, my fiancé order some seafood soup and guess what? it also had ketchup in it! WTF why?? The picture on the menu showed lots of large chunks of seafood, crab, muscles pouring out of it, that's not what she got as you can see in the picture. There was half a crab leg in her soup. I ordered chile verde, one of my all time favorites. The meat was hard and chewy the green salsa did have good flavor. She had a margarita that's was overly sweet and I just had a bottle beer. Unfortunately we will not be coming back. WHY KETCHUP???? I still can't over that! So bad.

Quesabirria

Came here twice. Tacos from the first time were alright, nothing amazing. 2nd time i had quesabirrias and it tastes much better than the tacos, although we also asked for guacamole on the side and i didn't like it. It looked and tasted like store bought guac. I love that they also include the consomé on the side, not many restaurants have this. Was bummed that they don't have any of the juices that they advertise. The people here are kind but not quick to attend. Overall It's an ok place.

My hubby suggested I check this place out, and he nailed it. And now I'm wrecked because they have pupusas! They also have posole all the time, and not just on the weekends. The food was fantastic, but they were so warm and welcoming to me even though I was getting a take out. The place was very clean. It's fun trying new places, but knowing pupusas are five minutes away from my hotel is going to bring me back.

Where else can you get Ballenas in WA?
Geoff G.

I've been going here for almost 10 years, and it's still as good as ever. Bonus: the whole restaurant is hospital clean and they are doing a great job of running the restaurant while maintaining good social distancing. Also, Ballenas!

Over priced. $14 for four asada tacos and No seasoning on asada tacos. Tastes like ground beef.

The service is horrible, it used to be good. I can't do this place. The service staff use to be awesome. Now they are not. Really sad.

The service was great--everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The menu is pretty extensive, especially when it comes to tacos, so there are plenty of options to choose from. I tried the asada, carnitas, birria, and adobada tacos. All were decent, with the birria being my favorite. The other meats weren't bad by any means, but they were a bit on the drier side compared to some other taco spots I've been to. The rice and beans were pretty standard--exactly what you'd expect, nothing particularly standout. One thing I really liked, though, was the self-serve salsa bar. It's always a plus being able to customize your flavors. One thing to note is that you do need to bus your own table, but considering the price and portion sizes, it feels fair and worth it. Overall, a solid spot for a casual meal. I'll definitely be exploring more of this area of Renton--there seem to be a ton of authentic Mexican restaurants nearby. We went late at night, so options were a bit limited at the time, but this was a good find.

Some places skimp on the lengua because it's since become and expensive cut but not El kiosko. It's tender and delicious. They've moved their location to a much larger location since then and it's so nice. Well deserved. The parking lot is huge so don't worry about that. When we came in we were told to choose a seat wherever we'd like then promptly served chips and salsa. The salsa was so good. We got to try their taco Tuesday for the first time and the Al pastor was so flavorful and they make the carnitas super crispy. We were also surprised to see they now have a full bar. We ordered a cantarito and although yummy, I didn't think they put the right amount of alcohol for how massive the cup is but that's alright it was good nonetheless:) Salsa bar was nice and full both times we came to the new location and kept clean between uses. I can't wait to come back now that there is way more seating.

They also charged me almost $3 for a small thing of sour cream as well. Super disappointing.

I'm sure the place is more lively with more etíope, but it was still pleasant to sit and eat with some background music playing. Food was absolutely delicious! It's a bit on the pricey side but you will definitely leave full and satisfied. I ordered the Pollito Pibil and my boyfriend ordered the Lechon Congri. We CLEARED our plates. We also ordered the Street Corn appetizer which was very tasty. Service was quick as well with be dry attentive staff. We were in and out in less than an hour. The jalapeno toast was the star of the show, great flavors and textures. The ceviche was solid with maybe a little too much tomato for my personal taste. The lechon came in a mountain of pork and rice, if I were to get it again I would probably ask to get the meat on the side since all the sauce/oil dripped down into the rice. In total we spent ~90 for 2 people Ambiance: The restaurant is a really beautiful space, we loved the lighting and decorations Service: Here is where there were a few things took a turn. Service is obviously very subjective, but I felt like our waitress could have been more welcoming and explained more since she did ask us if it was our first time there and we said yes it was. There were 4 sauces that came with our meal and she never explained to us what they were or even what we should be eating them with. She also never checked in on us and when we asked for some boxes and the bill she seemed pretty dismissive. Something more weird for us was when another staff member came with a big camera and light and started taking pictures of us mid meal. After a few minutes she came back with framed photos of us and offered them to us for $20 a picture. When we declined she seemed irritated we didn't want to pay for a service we didn't ask for.

The queso tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for a long time then warmed up in the microwave. I ordered 2 tacos which were okay for just regular carnita tacos. My fiance had ordered the supreme burrito. Normally burritos are freshly made to order so we thought it would take some time for our food to be made. However, the food came 4 minutes later, quickest made burrito. The burrito was chewy and it was cold in the middle. It was also a pre made microwaved burrito. He couldn't finish it because it didn't want to get sick. The waitress only came twice to take the order and for payment. There's other Mexican restaurants around the area that you should go to.
