Nice restaurant ordered food of Rice and beans and tacos de asada. Food came out fast and was pretty tasty. The rice was fluffy and tasted fresh. A nice little hole in the wall with a pretty good size menu. I would eat here again .

Wonderful authentic Mexican Tortas with other items too. Best Mexican food in town by far, plenty of meat and vegetables. Horchata is sweet, churros are warm, people are great, not much more to ask for!

    The Cubana, holy crap!

So, after reading the Surly Gourmand's review of Tortas Locas, I had to check this joint out.... http://surlygourmand.blogspot.com/2009/09/tortas-locas.html I went full-bore and ordered the Cubana torta. As expected, it was a monster and should definitely be shared (I only got through 3/4 of it before throwing in the towel. It contains breaded beef, ham, chorizo, a hot dog, some other kind of pork, queso blanco, lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, avacado & mayo for $9.50. It was pretty epic. I added a picture of the Cubanan torta to the Yelp profile, check it out. I will most likely go for a smaller torta next time. ;) They must have a new menu board up because it was both in English & Spanish.

    The Torta Loca

I was craving a Torta and was heading to my usual Mexican joint. I have passed this place numerous times and thought I would give them a try. I was told it was Mexico City Style Tortas. The menu has a lot of choices and is in Spanish, so if you don't speak Spanish, ask for the printed out English menu. It was similar to any Torta I have had, yet different. The bread was the same as any, but bigger. The meat selection was not you usual taco filling. It was breaded beef, sausage, chorizo, and other wonderful meats. I had the Torta Loca with a bunch of different meats. It was delicious... add the jalapenos. They also have a great selection of Mexican soft drinks.

The service was great--everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The menu is pretty extensive, especially when it comes to tacos, so there are plenty of options to choose from. I tried the asada, carnitas, birria, and adobada tacos. All were decent, with the birria being my favorite. The other meats weren't bad by any means, but they were a bit on the drier side compared to some other taco spots I've been to. The rice and beans were pretty standard--exactly what you'd expect, nothing particularly standout. One thing I really liked, though, was the self-serve salsa bar. It's always a plus being able to customize your flavors. One thing to note is that you do need to bus your own table, but considering the price and portion sizes, it feels fair and worth it. Overall, a solid spot for a casual meal. I'll definitely be exploring more of this area of Renton--there seem to be a ton of authentic Mexican restaurants nearby. We went late at night, so options were a bit limited at the time, but this was a good find.

I'm sure the place is more lively with more etíope, but it was still pleasant to sit and eat with some background music playing. Food was absolutely delicious! It's a bit on the pricey side but you will definitely leave full and satisfied. I ordered the Pollito Pibil and my boyfriend ordered the Lechon Congri. We CLEARED our plates. We also ordered the Street Corn appetizer which was very tasty. Service was quick as well with be dry attentive staff. We were in and out in less than an hour. The jalapeno toast was the star of the show, great flavors and textures. The ceviche was solid with maybe a little too much tomato for my personal taste. The lechon came in a mountain of pork and rice, if I were to get it again I would probably ask to get the meat on the side since all the sauce/oil dripped down into the rice. In total we spent ~90 for 2 people Ambiance: The restaurant is a really beautiful space, we loved the lighting and decorations Service: Here is where there were a few things took a turn. Service is obviously very subjective, but I felt like our waitress could have been more welcoming and explained more since she did ask us if it was our first time there and we said yes it was. There were 4 sauces that came with our meal and she never explained to us what they were or even what we should be eating them with. She also never checked in on us and when we asked for some boxes and the bill she seemed pretty dismissive. Something more weird for us was when another staff member came with a big camera and light and started taking pictures of us mid meal. After a few minutes she came back with framed photos of us and offered them to us for $20 a picture. When we declined she seemed irritated we didn't want to pay for a service we didn't ask for.

The queso tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for a long time then warmed up in the microwave. I ordered 2 tacos which were okay for just regular carnita tacos. My fiance had ordered the supreme burrito. Normally burritos are freshly made to order so we thought it would take some time for our food to be made. However, the food came 4 minutes later, quickest made burrito. The burrito was chewy and it was cold in the middle. It was also a pre made microwaved burrito. He couldn't finish it because it didn't want to get sick. The waitress only came twice to take the order and for payment. There's other Mexican restaurants around the area that you should go to.
