I was happy with the clean and comfortable and well-stocked room, the carts, the front desk service, the room location away from other guests (we travel with two small dogs, and were charged a reasonable $25 fee), the well-lit parking lot, and the overall experience. However, Wyndham's phone app is pretty junky (although that doesn't fall on this location), so we believed we'd be paying $35 less than we did. At $159, it's starting to look like business traveller prices for a hotel that's more comparable to a Sleep Inn (or similar Choice brand) that offers similar services for less. So, hotel: good. Love that they are pet friendly! Pet charge is minimal $ 25 compared to some of the other hotels. Check in was easy- nice and friendly staff. Rooms were quite colorful - it looks like they had recently been remodeled which was nice. Air conditioner smelled super musty with old dank air coming out. Had to turn it off as it smelled really bad. Sheets could also use an upgrade. These rooms are so loud I can hear everything on both sides and above me the bed squeaks when you get in and out of it and it's more comfortable sleeping on the floor then it is on this bed I think it might've been a bed 30 years ago it's not so much anymore. read more

A nice little hotel with plenty of businesses within walking distance. We stopped here for our third visit while navigating the cross country trip. location is right beside the interstate which makes it very convenient. Plenty of parking around the building. Lobby is big and bright. Front desk people are always so nice as witnessed on every visit. The rooms are ok, first floor rooms have somewhat small bathroom but I live the first floor location. We always walk down with the dog to Buffalo Wild Wings where we sit on the outdoor patio. There are sidewalks and grassy areas all around for your pet. Breakfast is just ok but included with the room. In Summary, we like this hotel and will continue to stay while driving cross country. read more

Location is good, just off I-70 and a Cracker Barrel right next door is very convenient . Friendly staff at check in. After that is where the rating went downhill. The elevator was sketchy. It made lots of noise and adjusted up and down before opening. The hallway walls are " scarred and dented ". Our room was nice and clean however the tv did not work. We notified the front desk. After checking the remotes, connections, etc she went off to see about swapping out the tv. Tired of waiting I went back down to the lobby. She was texting manager and waiting on a response. It was 9:30 and I wanted to go to bed. I asked for a rate reduction for the inconvenience. Long story short at checkout I was told I would get a rate reduction...guess what? Charged full price. this is probably the nicest La Quinta we have ever been to. place was super clean, no broken amenities, hot breakfast, and staff was superb. my 87 yo father and I stayed here on our way to Springfield Mo for Christmas. My father fell and needed some help. he was fine thankfully, but I could not get him up. Sam, the night manager helped me, he was kind, professional and respectful of my dad. Great location, and the front desk staff was very kind and helpful. It is a newer hotel, and is super clean. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, and they had plenty of clean places to sit down and eat. The only negative was I didn't like the halogen lights in the room, as it made me feel like I was in my office. There is a light switch on the wall by the door that lights up and is SUPER bright. Stopped here on our way back from Kansas and after staying at the Hampton Inn on our way out to Kansas, went for this place instead (Hampton was overbooked). Overall the place is very clean and modern looking. The inside has flashy LED lit pools and the areas are clean and the carpets are new and criSP. In terms of the room I was given, it was a little odd- more like a half-thought out apartment with a king bed and a sofa. But as you walked in there was a counter oddly placed into the corner. The room was very clean, bed was incredibly comfortable, and overall the room was really well painted and modern looking. The bathroom was a little odd- though it was was clean and well-maintained. The shower had a regular bath tub bottom, which I'm never a fan of, but good enough. In the morning the breakfast was hot and ready- eggs, sausage patties (better than Hampton) and waffle mix. The coffee was okay, but there was only medium roast despite having four coffee dispensers. Overall very nice. read more

we had a wonderful overnight stay. Kristina was FABULOUS. she was extremely friendly and beyond accommodating. We were traveling with Labradoodle and she was able to give us a room that gave Willow room to run around. I needed extra shampoo and she was busy training a new employee, she excused herself and made sure that the new trainee went with her to see where the supplies were kept. the other hotel staff that we came in contact with were very friendly and accommodating as well. the rooms were very clean and comfortable. location is convenient to anything you could need while traveling. They had to switch rooms 3 times due to them not being cleaned. The girl at the desk said they would discount the room rate for the issue but it never happened. This place seems to be going downhill. Had the pleasure of staying at this location last night 8/27/20 and this is the best La Quinta I've ever been in! As you can see from the pictures, my room was beautiful! It was impeccably clean, and had everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Really one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Absolutely stunning hotel, I was greeted by friendly faces the staff are friendly. Very accommodated. The room was spotless so clean absolutely beautiful. The queen bed was comfortable and soft linens and blanket. Hot shower and great hair products. Great location too, Starbucks, restaurants and everything else you need. After checking into the Days Inn across the road and realizing that was an absolute disaster the La Quinta was heaven on earth. Nice hotel but.... the most uncomfortable bed ever! I'd like to rate at 2.5 but I'll give it a 3 due to the many positives. An uncomfortable bed is a biggie tho! My husband and I were up every hour tossing and turning and both "woke" exhausted with sore, stiff necks and backs. The hotel was very pet friendly with laminate flooring, (no carpet), outdoor area for dogs to potty with bags for clean up and disposal. The staff was super nice. The rooms were modern and decorated nicely. They were pretty clean, not spotless tho. I think all rooms come with mini fridge and microwave but only one sink which is in the bathroom. This hotel is great. I would recommend it to dog and non dog parents.it is updated and very modern. The rooms are clean and very sleek. Dogs are welcome and cats which makes it awesome for fur parents. Tonight as a surprise they were serving meatballs, wine, beer and popcorn.... a great treat after a long day of travel. This hotel is very nice. Staff was friendly. My issue with dog friendly hotels...they don't hold owners accountable. If you have a dog and leave the room the dog should have to leave also. I was at the end of the hall and a dog on the other end it sounded like the dog was in our room! I went to the front and was told they are aware but the owner left the dog in the room. It's really annoying to have to hear a dog bark for hours. Not to mention staying at hotels that allow dogs when you have bad allergies. These hotels do not have dog only rooms which makes it very hard for us. The bed was really hard also. It's close to lots of food and Walmart. read more

Super pet friendly, Clean, well lit, good parking, off the highway, close to a good selection of restaurants, huge rooms, very comfortable. Front desk gals were great! The only downside was the breakfast. Eggs were not very good, no water option (really need water offered alongside juice and coffee), overall it was just an ok breakfast. BUT Cracker Barrel is just next door! I do a good amount of cross country road trips with my dog and I don't really like to stay at the same place twice but I have bookmarked this one and will be back. read more

Do Not Stay Here They are completely unattentive to problems. We have been booked twice for the same nights stay at this hotel. I just had the girl who answers tell me they don't take payments from booking.com, though the charge is sitting on my American Express. Then when my husband presented them with his card, they charged again. The girl was more concerned with trying to tell me why I was wrong (thought I am looking at a double charge) then listen and fix my problem. No one should have to pay for a room twice in one night. Stayed many times over the years, but cannot return. Checked into a full hotel and found there was no hot water in the tub/shower. Tried all handle positions and let run for a few minutes in each position. Asked for a room change but told the hotel was full. Tried it again the next morning at 5 AM with the same results. (Sink was fine so anti-scald device probably malfunctioned. ) Left messages all week with desk clerks to ask manager to call me about a partial refund, with no success. I can accept the reality of mechanical failures, but i cannot accept a management that ignores me when there is a problem. read more

I didn't get to experience anything since my reservation was not honored. I reserved online and had to change the dates. I called the hotel itself and made sure the reservation change was made and explained we would have a dog so they added on the charge. When we arrived the room was under the old reservation date and they did not have the room available. They did not offer to give us another room either. read more

We stayed here driving across the country last week. I asked to check out the room before we booked due to accommodating low price of the room. The employee at the front desk gladly showed us a first floor room which we booked. The room and facilities were very clean which is important to us. I loved the laminate floor for cleanliness purposes. I wish all hotels would get away from carpet. The front office staff were very friendly. We also arrived at their beverage hour and were offered complimentary wine & beer, popcorn and cookies. The two beverage servers were very friendly also. The complimentary breakfast was very good also with an accommodating, friendly staff. We have been on moving adventure with our 9 year old cat. Skeeter the cat is very well behaved. He also takes a pill for traveling. We were in Hope, Arkansas on Sunday night. I love the beds at Hampton Inns so stopped there first to get a room. Sorry no pets. I'm not going to sneak a pet into a room. So did not get room. Disappointed me at Hampton Inns. Many of us travel with out pets so may want to rethink that policy. So in Hope we stayed at Holiday Inn express. They allowed pets with 25$ charge. Have always liked Holiday Inn Express. Always felt a little smarter after staying there. But not this time. The room was old , plain and drab. Even the cat felt uncomfortable. Tonight we are in Effingham , Illinois . Staying at La Quinta. I need to apologize to this hotel. I thought this is going to be an uncomfortable night. They allow pets and charge no fee. It was less expensive than stay at Holiday Inn and it is wonderful. Great great room and nice staff. Clean and great towels and plenty of hot water. Even the cat is loving it. Also Holiday Inn Express stingy with hot water. Love you La Quinta. I cannot say enough about how terrible this stay was. I travel weekly for business or family and stay in a ton of hotels. Usually the La Quinta brand offers a great stay. This property however falls well short of the standard. Check in was fine, looking at the room when walking in was great. When I peeled back the covers on one of the double beds I found human feces in a perfectly made bed. The room was in tip top shape so clearly the bed was made. This is obviously completely inappropriate for all of you travelers out there. Their response to my issue was to tell me I had to go through Expedia for a refund or through their corporate office to receive a free room on a future stay. Their corporate office had no way to get through to anyone unless you knew a "party's extension". When I contacted the property back the manager offered me a "discounted room" instead of a free room. The manager has not been in at any point on three potential days of contact. She has not empowered her employees to make anything right and certainly did not step up when presenting a room to someone with feces in a bed within minutes of checking in. Clearly the staff is not taking care at their job to ensure a clean room, and management is not holding their property accountable to their customers. AVOID this hotel! read more
