This is not a Bed and Breakfast, no breakfast voucher either - so forget anything you read otherwise - I complained about the sign that was even in the window as you walked in stating Bed and Breakfast, which they did remove the next day. Speaking of walking in - I had to push the automatic door to the lobby open (they did fix that the next day) only to find a kiosk virtual front desk (from a different town/state who knows where, that had to call about everything that required attention). After we had drove a few hours, we did get a text to warn us that the elevator was broken (so check on that before you go, because it was still broke when we left). I had booked a room specific to 2nd floor, as my wife has some trouble with stairs after hip surgery (none on first floor, and 3rd floor only has stair access). After the steep climb with luggage (We heard some poor soul struggling to get luggage up the stairs and thought he was going to have a heart attack, but he made it before I was able to get out to help). We got settled in, but before the day was over... the TV quit working. Mr. kiosk suggested the typical things (reboot etc...) that I had already tried and had to show him a picture of the screen that showed it had no connection. He said they would have someone fix the next day after treating me like I did not know anything (I worked in IT over 40 years, I can tell when a Roku cannot connect to a network). Next day, after being out all day, came in to relax - no TV still, Mr. Kiosk said we could move to another room... OK we pack up and move to a new room, and it is super cold, go to Mr. Kiosk again because we could not find a thermostat, his solution ... we move to another room that has a thermostat we can adjust on the third floor - no - we are tired we don't want to lug up another flight of stairs, we will just get out another blanket. We did get a call at that point, and I was told the thermostat is currently in another room for the whole floor, but I can go and adjust (got there and it was set to 66), so we finally was able to settle in and watch TV for the night. (They are planning on making changes to have individual controlled, but something you might want to consider). The last day was better, but not sure we will be back even though we did like the room itself. Definitely, buyer beware - ask before booking.

We tried another motel first, the front desk was obviously uninterested in working at that hour. The room they gave us had a musky odor and AC didn't work and we got attitude when we called about it. We decide to leave and find another place. Just down the road we saw Greenup Inn. We obviously woke the manager up, but much to our surprise, he was extremely helpful, checked us in and directed us to our room. I have to say the exterior may not be much to look at but the rooms were really nice for a small town motel. However, what happens next made me a customer for life. Our 3 month old baby was colicky and my husband had to get some sleep so I stepped outside the room at 2am to calm the baby down and not disturb my husband. The manager heard the baby crying, noticed I was outside; he immediately opened the office, invited me in and offered the place to me as long as I needed even made me some tea from his own kitchen. He stayed up with me for the next 2 hours until my baby fell asleep. Is this small town hospitality or just good people that go over and beyond?? Whatever is it, I'll be staying at Greenup Inn every time I make this trip, which is 3x a year!

These people have said that they renovated their hotel rooms, and I paid more to be in an upgraded (Executive room)! 1. The first room that they put me in did not have a smoke detector at all! 2. One chair was dirty, and the seat springs were broken. 3. There was black mold around the vanity sink. 4. The lamp shades were torn. 5. The bathroom tub bottom was filthy dirty. 5. The shower curtain rod was falling off the wall! I did ask for a different room, and was moved to another which was barely in better shape! For breakfast, I was told by a staff member that the coffee pot was broken, and found that the scrambled eggs and biscuit gravy BOTH were cold, although the man warmed it up quickly. By that time, I had lost my appetite and opted to go to McDonald's instead! I spent over $125 per night for this fleabag joint! NEVER AGAIN. Their new restaurant ( INDIAN food) is overpriced for the area, and judging from the hotel's cleanliness, I refused to eat there! However, I want to especially thank Erin. She was on duty the night of 3/4/26. After I arrived home from my visit, I thought that I left an expensive water bottle in the room. I called the hotel and got Erin. She was very pleasant and understanding. She immediately stopped whatever she was doing to search for my property. When she was unable to locate it, she contacted me to let me know. She didn't stop there. Understanding the value of the bottle and the urgency, she continued to search for it with no luck. Ultimately, I located the bottle in a different bag that hadn't unpacked yet. Although I was happy that I found it, I felt bad for sending Erin on a wild goose chase. I did call back to let her know and to apologize. She was so sweet and pleasant. She wasn't bothered by it at all. She was simply glad that I found it. She continued thanking me for the stay at the hotel and hoped I would keep the hotel in mind for future stays. Because of this, I definitely will. He politely asked if I was ok w/ his help, and then used his cell phone lite to look where I had already looked, felt, and told him the retainer was not. But he could see it under the seat and stuck into a gap in the floor paneling. Pretty incredible. Very incredible. Forever grateful. Above and beyond the call.

Our room was exceptional and very quiet as the main road out front is not exactly a major travel route. Whenever I am in the area this will alway be my "go-to" place.

I should add I went to breakfast at 7 am - dead center of the breakfast hour. There are plenty of services around the hotel that travelers need - gas, food etc... This is the best choice in the area - but the off-season price (mid September) was $100. I could have stayed at a Hampton for that rate. I will say this its far better to stay here than in Terra Huate
