Attended a wedding here in late June for one of my gf's besties…read more The venue itself is absolutely beautiful with a quaint, outdoor terrace for ceremonies and a massive dining hall for receptions (adorned by double bars and washrooms on both ends. This wedding was quite big and although it was very spacious for the guests, admittedly, it was slightly hard seeing (and hearing) the bride and groom as they were on a raised center cove that was slightly walled off on the sides. The mics were also dying I think and needed the batteries changed out. Food-wise, it is a different story. 10 course chinese food dinner which you would think is pretty standard but it was actually quite hit or miss. I understand that portion control is typically a judgement call made by servers when they come around but our servers were quite inconsistent portioning out the food (at least at our table). I got 1 strand of jellyfish w/ my suckling pig. Multiple guests at our table also got uncooked e-fu noodles on their plate when the noodles came around (the noodles were literally crunchy still LOL). Fried rice was very bland. Crispy chicken was overcooked to smithereens. The guy sitting next to me had several shells and cartilage pieces in his soup that he had to pluck out haha. The rest were pretty good. So like I said, it hit or miss items. I found the bartenders on the left side of the venue to be far more professional and knowledgeable. Some of the bartenders working the bar on the right side of the venue were giving sass to a lot of guests (especially when they didn't know how to make simple drinks) which I was ok with but I could see a lot of guests didn't appreciate the added sass. For late night grub, the burgers were actually not bad! As a recommendation to the kitchen staff management (in case they're reading this), I know it's just late night grub, but if you gave the servers at the late night bar a grill to melt the cheese on the patties that would be awesome. They were there serving poutine and compiling the burger toppings anyways! Melted cheese on those late night sliders go a long way! TL;DR Amazing venue, food hit or miss. Would recommend for the venue alone (but perhaps explore w/ a diff cuisine or dinner vendor?)

Great venue for holding corporate gatherings and parties, weddings, gala, conferences, fundraising…read moreevents, etc. They have 2 bars, one at the reception and one inside the venue; both of high quality. I strongly recommend trying their Espresso Martinis. I attended a gala here and it was perfectly organized. The appetizers. Entrée and dessert were delicious and perfectly decorated.

From the cuisine to the exceptional service, every aspect of the event was meticulously executed, leaving a lasting impression on me. The culinary team at Doctor's House truly outdid themselves. The steak was cooked to perfection, with each bite tender and flavorful. The salmon was equally impressive, with a delightful balance of flavors and textures. The potatoes, which often tends to be an afterthought, were actually pretty good. it was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The dessert course was a delectable in sweetness and creativity. Each bite was a delight, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Doctor's House boasts ample parking, which was a huge relief, we had no issues with parking, there is accessible parking as well. Furthermore, the venue itself is beautifully decorated, with elegant touches and plenty of natural light. The staff at Doctor's House were exceptional. From the moment we arrived, they were attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The service was seamless, with each course served promptly and with a smile. There was this particular gentleman who kept ensuring our table had enough water and drinks (sadly forgot his name). Attending my friend's wedding at Doctor's House was an absolute pleasure. I would highly recommend Doctor's House to anyone looking for a venue for a special occasion. It's clear that the team is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for every guest. Overall. - Cuisine: 5/5 - Ambiance and Amenities: 5/5 - Service: 5/5

One of the Most Unprofessional and Sketchy Hotel Experiences I've Ever Had…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. When we arrived, the pullout couch was absolutely disgusting. We had to request sheets and pillows just to make our own bed. The walls were so thin we could hear everything, so forget about getting any sleep. But the condition of the room was only part of the problem. The staff behavior was what really pushed this experience into disturbing territory. We were in town for a wedding but received a family emergency call and weren't sure if we'd be returning that night. So we put our luggage in the car just in case. Suddenly I started getting calls from the hotel because the maid had gone into our room and reported that we didn't leave any luggage. I cannot emphasize enough how creepy and invasive that is. Why is a staff member snooping around and keeping tabs on whether guests leave bags behind? It was beyond unprofessional. I explained to the front desk (a woman named Linda) that we might not return that night due to possibly having to head home, and instead of showing understanding, she pressured us to "make a decision" by 6 p.m. It felt like they were trying to double-dip--charge me while re-renting the room. Even after asking if management could approve a refund, I was told they'd look into it, but no one followed up. I had to call again during the wedding photos, and still no action was taken. In the end, I never received a refund or even a partial refund from the manager, who I believe was Kimberly. And yet, I was still asked to leave a positive review. The nerve. I paid for the room. My whereabouts, my luggage, and whether I return or not should not be monitored or questioned. The entire stay felt sketchy, invasive, and stressful--on top of being flat-out uncomfortable. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Between the filthy conditions and the shady, overbearing staff, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I will be telling everyone I know to stay far away

The housekeeper was knocking to come in around 10:30. The washroom floor was very slippery as the water splashed from the curtain to the tile. Also the washroom should have exhaust fan. It felt like it was meant to be! The venue itself was so grand and elegant. Definitely gave me castle vibes! The layout of the Victorian hall worked out great for us; we loved the courtyard access and also the huge bridal suite! Our Sales Consultant, Geraldine, and Event Coordinator, Danna, were so great to work with. They were so responsive and professional. They were able to help with any questions or concerns we had leading up to our wedding, and also provided many helpful suggestions for our event, including the layout and menu. Everything turned out wonderfully with their help. The day of staff were also great and very friendly. We had a couple of no shows, but they were nice enough to pack up all the extra food for us to take home. I had quite a packed schedule that day, but they brought us some food/hor d'oeuvres straight to our bridal suite to make sure we got to eat too. Really appreciated this gesture. Food wise, they definitely had a huge selection available. We opted with a standard 3 course dinner with pasta, 2 meats (chicken + beef) and crepe gelato. The food was good overall, except the beef was a little dry but that is to be expected when cooking for a large group. The accommodations for dietary restrictions were also great, we had eggplant parm for the vegetarian meal and I've heard good things about it! Our hor d'oeuvres and late night station (pub crawl) were also really popular; it's been a month but people are still raving about it when they see us! We are so happy that we chose this venue for our wedding. It was an absolutely perfect night!

But I found the chicken was dry and they didn't have the greatest presentation as they didn't wipe off the sides of plates before serving. Had drips sauce on the side of the plate. The amount of sauce was inconsistent as well. I had more sauce on my plate then my friend's plate and I felt I didn't have enough sauce. Probably because the chicken was dry. The dessert we had was a crepe with ice cream inside and it was obvious that it was not made in house as all of the plates looked exactly the same like it was copied and pasted out of a machine. And it was obvious they prepared it way in advance because the fresh berries that were on the plate for garnish were frozen making it evident that it was prepared in advance and then placed in the freezer until serving time. We were served penne pasta with a cream sauce and farfalle (bow tie) pasta with olives for an appetizer and it tasted pretty good. It kind of made up for the not so great main course I had after. The salad we got with the dinner was fairly good. It was a simple mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing but it compensated for the dry chicken served with my dinner.
