Seafood Fajita with shrimp, crab and scallops
Gail B.

Yelp never lets me down.... Traveling to North Carolina in over 15 years, was looking for a place for dinner... La Poblana Mexican Restaurant in Bryson City, North Carolina, did not disappoint ... offered a vibrant and authentic taste of Mexican cuisine. I can certainly tell this family-run eatery definitely stands out for its flavorful dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and warm hospitality. Atmosphere: La Poblana boasts a cheerful and inviting atmosphere, with colorful decor that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Mexico. The restaurant is adorned with traditional Mexican decor and bright, festive colors that create a lively dining environment. The booths are amazing and a focal point of the dining experience as well making for a cozy interior. Food: The food at La Poblana is the star of the show. The menu features a wide array of classic Mexican dishes, from sizzling fajitas and enchiladas to mouth-watering tacos. Each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic spices, delivering robust flavors that are sure to satisfy. The guacamole and pico de gallo are made fresh to order, and the salsa has the perfect balance of heat and flavor. For dessert, we ordered the last flan, offering a sweet end to a delicious meal. Service: The service at La Poblana is consistently top-notch. The staff works as a team ... they are friendly, extremely attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, always ready to provide recommendations or accommodate special requests. There was no wait time, even though there restaurant was pretty full both inside and outside seating areas. I observed how well the staff ensured that each guest, especially the ones outside on the patio and deck were made to feel welcome and were well taken care of. Value: La Poblana offers great value for its high-quality food and generous portions. The prices are reasonable, making it an affordable option for families, couples, and solo diners alike. The portion sizes are substantial, often leaving you with leftovers to enjoy later. Location: Conveniently located in the heart of Bryson City, La Poblana is easily accessible for both locals and tourists. The restaurant provides ample parking and is situated close to various attractions and shops, making it a perfect stop for a meal. Conclusion: La Poblana Mexican Restaurant is a standout dining destination in Bryson City, NC. With its authentic and flavorful cuisine, vibrant atmosphere, and excellent service, it offers a memorable dining experience that will keep you coming back. Whether you're a local resident or just visiting the area, La Poblana is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Mexican food.

We loved everything we ordered. Guacamole was delicious and it comes with warm chips. Tacos very tasty and chimichanga was good too. We will definitely be back.

Strawberry margarita on the rocks, fabulous!

Amazing and kind service, very quick turnaround on the food. Fresh and delicious, seriously try the shrimp dish (camarones poblanos). Drinks are so delicious too! Would come back. Stop by and visit them. The music was also on point, we sat at the front patio and had a blast!

The Burro Loco entree. A three meat burrito topped with guacamole

This is a nice local Mecxican restaurant with a full menu to choose from. There is plenty of dining area inside ( and air conditioned ) or outside on a small covered patio. You can view their menu online, and there is the full range of traditional Mexican fare. They start you off with a basket of chips and salsa. The soft drink servings are huge. We both ordered The Burro Loco. Basically a burrito stuffed with three meats and nacho cheese sauce, top with guacamole. It was a bit of a struggle to finish the full serving, but I did! The meals were served quickly, and since this was located close to our campground, we were back home in no time. The location on Main Street is outside the store / shopping area, so it is easy to park. The service was good, although I think our server's English was limited, but not a problem. Enjoyed the experience and food, and hope to visit again on our next trip to Bryson City.

Chicken fajitas for one
Kathi T.

I had the enchiladas verde and hubby had chicken fajitas for one. The chicken was very tender in both dishes. The service was fast and the beer cold. All in all was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. By the way, there were enough fajitas for 2!

Speedy Gonzalez but after I ate the taco

Stopped in here while riding our motorcycles and it was a perfect lunch spot. It's right off the main road and has a nice little outdoor seating area. We sat out front since the weather was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the food was ready pretty quickly. I had the speedy Gonzalez which was delicious.

Chips and salsa

Okay Mexican food. As someone from Texas, my bar is very high for Mexican food. The salsa was good. The chips were a little stale. I ordered the chicken fajitas, and the meat was good. I didn't really like the rice and beans. I wish the fajitas were served with shredded cheese. Not a bad place to eat, but it isn't life changing or anything.

The place also has a pool table, which you can use for free, along with online trivia you can play on the TV. However, there was no wi-fi here. For my order, I went with the black and bleu burger with fries and a coke. My family also ordered a pizza, so I had that too. This took 25 minutes to come out. Taste-wise, the burger was delightful, the fries tasted great, my pizza was scrumptious, and you just can't go wrong with a Coca-Cola. Sue, our server, did great and was nice to us. I can definitely see myself coming back up here, thank you so much.

Also entertaining bc cops were pulling people over left and right . We started with the spinach dip and garlic knots. They went down quick, the spinach dip was delicious! My boys loved the knots. For entrees we got the kids cheese pizza, pretty big slice for $3.5, we were impressed and our 11 year old demolished it and was full! My husband raved about the lasagna and the chicken margarita pizza was yummy! I'd never had it with chicken on a margarita and was delighted with how good it was! I'd definitely try this again! The vibe was good!

Friendly staff greeted us as we walked in. The waiter promptly arrived and brought chips and the house salsa to our table, and most of them were broken and looks like they took from the bottom of the barrel. The salsa bar was a nice addition so you could have various flavors. We ordered a regular and watermelon margaritas and they were not good, no taste of tequila at all. I was surprised at this since other reviews said great drinks. So far two strikes against them. I was starting to regret coming here since there are many good Mexican places in town, but things changed quickly. Our second basket of chips was much better, and once we received our food orders I was very pleased. I ordered Chili Rellenos and they were fantastic, much better than I've had in many other places. My wife ordered the 4 enchiladas platter and it was beautiful, plenty of chicken and fillings, with tasty sauces on each type. It was so big the rice and beans had to come on a separate plate. I normally prefer refried beans over the rice for side dishes, but that rice was very flavorful which was surprising to me since most are bland. My son had the seafood burrito and he said it was very good with a lot of seafood. It filled him up, which is an accomplishment in itself. All the portions were large and prices were very reasonable. Our waiter provided great service. He didn't speak English very well but no points were taken off for that. He knew enough to do his job. Their health scores were also very high, which was why we chose this place over others in the area we normally chose in the past. I would rank this place up there against any of the other local Mexican restaurants and hope they do well. At the time of our visit, the Ingles in Cashiers had coupons on the back of the receipt, so you can save a few bucks on the already very reasonable prices there.
