There are a lot of good Mexican restaurants in this area but this one is different. It's like they care more about their food. I had the pork burrito, the Burrito Calentano. (I heard they are kinda known for the pork). It was very good! The pork is fried but it's still moist, which adds a special crunch. The burrito was 2 meals so that tells you how big it was. The wait staff are very attentive and friendly and brought drink refills without asking, a nice thing. I liked it because it was quiet. I ordered pork enchiladas and they substituted verde sauce. The pork was seared on a flat top giving it a slightly crispy texture. My favorite because it renders the fat off the pork butt. This is a nice local Mecxican restaurant with a full menu to choose from. There is plenty of dining area inside ( and air conditioned ) or outside on a small covered patio. You can view their menu online, and there is the full range of traditional Mexican fare. They start you off with a basket of chips and salsa. The soft drink servings are huge. We both ordered The Burro Loco. Basically a burrito stuffed with three meats and nacho cheese sauce, top with guacamole. It was a bit of a struggle to finish the full serving, but I did! The meals were served quickly, and since this was located close to our campground, we were back home in no time. The location on Main Street is outside the store / shopping area, so it is easy to park. The service was good, although I think our server's English was limited, but not a problem. Stopped in here while riding our motorcycles and it was a perfect lunch spot. It's right off the main road and has a nice little outdoor seating area. I was a little worried about the look of the place outside, but inside of the restaurant was nice and the service personal were quick and attentive. We came here verses the other Mexican restaurants in the area because of the great reviews and we're glad we did. The food was out quickly, and tasted great. I had the Guacamole Salad, Metcahete dinner with chicken,steak, Mexican chorizo, refined beans, Spanish rice and two torillas and my husband had the shrimp,scallops and imitation crab meat frijita which came with two torillas and he added a guacamole salad. Great service and atmosphere, but not quite so with the food. We had the combo which includes rice, bean burrito, and spinach quesidilla. The rice was very good, the beans in the burrito were more watery than I would like, but still tasted ok. But the spinach tasted like moss scraped off a rock in one of the nearby creeks. Both dishes came with heaping portions of meat, and smaller amounts of veggies. Such a large menu and hard to decide so not being too hungry we got the Super Taco and Shredded Pork Enchiladas, which could use some more sauce but the meat was tasty. Ample beer choices including an IPA on draft! The chips tasted old and the salsa lacked some spices. And why do we sit outside next to the highway with a view of traffic when the restaurant has the potential for "waterfront dining"? The service was superb, no more than 5 min goes by without one of the employees checking on us. The food was impeccable.
