Not a big fan of single sided stadiums but the one has a GREAT argument for it and that is the beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean view!!! Then, on a full moon night, rising up from the left gives an incredible experience, even if the game is not so great! read more

I was vacationing in Santa Barbara and needed to do a track workout. Luckily for me, I was a half mile from SBCC. The stadium was open with a bunch of people doing stadium stairs workouts and others running or walking on the track. It was a nice lively atmosphere. read more

It is so disappointing that La Playa Stadium has been closed to the public for six months. It's part of a publicly funded institution and should be a resource for community wellness during this time. It is totally outdoors and masks and social distancing could be easily enforced. read more

I was visiting Santa Barbara a while back and my friend suggested this spot for best stair workout with a view. Go early enough and get out early for parking b4 classes start. The views do not disappoint and the stairs are a nice solid bleacher style workout. Bonus as you can run on the trach as well. read more

I would like to start this review by saying I am an avid runner, lifter, cardio queen, marathon runner, body builder, and everything else in between. I love anything that pushes or challenges me. That being said, the SBCC stadiums is by far my favorite spot in the entire world for outdoor cardio. I used to live a stones throw away from SBCC and my morning ritual consisted of coffee and sunrise stadiums. As you would find in any gym, you have your regulars, the first timers, the occasionals, fitness groups, trainers, etc. ranging from 2 years of age to 90ish. Yes, I've seen two year olds run up those grueling but oh so fabulous 84 stairs. I can't say enough about how much I love the stadiums. I love seeing the regulars putting in the effort day in and day not, not to mention the kudos received for a job, ahem workout, well done. By the time I am done running the stairs my knees are practically buckling and my legs are fiercely trembling. Yet I am crazy enough to return the very next day to do it all again - rain or shine, hot or cold. I'm there. Don't want to feel like Gumby for the next 4 days? That's fine, the track is perfect for walking, running, sprinting or doing your own fitness regime. read more

This is a great facility that's open to the public from 6-10pm. It's the perfect place for some evening exercise. Run the stairs to the top of the stadium for an amazing view as the sun sets. Once the sun is gone, hit the track and do some laps. The entire stadium is well-lit so it's much safer than dodging cars in your neighborhood after dark. read more

Home to the Santa Barbara Community College. The stadium overlooks the harbor and has a great feel to it. Seems like they leave it open during normal hours for outsider to run or exercise. The seating needs to be upgraded and the field needs a new turf; but the stadium is unique in that it overlooks the ocean and has such amazing views. read more

This is a great place to stair climb! You can't beat the view and it's also very easy to access the stadium. Another reviewer mentioned that it is open to the public from 6-10pm, but I've exercised here during morning hours and also in the afternoon.
