Great restaurant with large portions and very friendly service! We came in the offseason (June) so it was not busy at all and the waiters were eager to welcome us in. The frozen mango margaritas are some of the best I've ever had. Super mango-ey, big goblets and rimmed with tajin. I wanted to try the strawberry, but the mango was just so good I stuck with that.
We got queso fundido with chorizo. It's served with flour tortillas and is oily but so good. We also got al pastor tacos and alambre arrachera (skirt steak) which both came with corn tortillas (my preference) and an order of enchilladas verdes. Everything was great, but we had to take most of it home because we had eaten a bit too many pre-dinner snacks.
Because it was pretty close to our Airbnb we came back again before we left Cancun and had the costillade de res tacos . Google told me this meant beef rib, it came out as a t-bone steak basically in tacos. Still tasty! We had the same waiter as the first time (Luis) and he even gave us a couple of extra margaritas on the rocks. The taco portions are generally huge! The pastor came with three pre-portioned tacos, but the other tacos we ordered were basically a pile of meat with several tortillas under and over them.
We sat inside because of the heat, but there's a great outdoor space in the back with several palapas. You can see them grill the food and carve the pastor. There's also a seating area in the front. I imagine in the high season it is very lively and the atmosphere is cool. It's a bit touristy, but still not crazy expensive. read more
