My husband and I had breakfast at La Pause when we stayed in Coyoacán for a few days in late November, and it was one of my favorite meals of that visit to Mexico City. La Pause is really beautiful - charming and beautiful and lovely. When you walk in, you enter a beautiful dining room, but we could see right through to the gorgeous and lush garden terrace where their outdoor seating is located - and we asked to sit there. I'm so glad we did. It's one of the loveliest courtyards I've eaten at in a long time. The service just added to this ambiance - amazing hospitality. We started with coffees and their pastry service (they brought a basket by and asked if we'd like any - and we did!). Their breakfast menu is broad, and I was tempted by a lot! After some tough choices, I decided on the Huevos Veracruz (tortillas stuffed with scrambled eggs and smothered in black bean sauce with chorizo). I can't remember what my husband ordered, because I was so in love with my dish that I'm not even sure I even tried it. Just absolutely delicious. La Pause is the whole package - gorgeous, sophisticated yet comfortable, hospitable, delicious... It's a restaurant I'd be thrilled to eat at again on another trip to Mexico City! read more
