The service was excellent, since we walked in the staff was very welcoming. The restaurant is is cozy. Our waitress was Mabet she is very friendly and patient, she answered all our questions. The food, I can't even describe. It was very flavourful, and pretty. Aporreadillo, was something delicious. Chile ahogado was 2 thumbs up. The Árabe is something you need to try.

Fresh papaya with delicious... sweetened sesame?
Rose K.

I stumbled upon this small place because it was hoppin' with locals on a Sunday morning. It was just down the street from where we were staying, and I never would have noticed it if it hadn't been for so many people dining al fresco that morning. I did not regret it. The service was incredibly friendly. I ordered green pozole, which came with all the accoutrements and was a generous portion. They were happy to add aguacate to my order. Avocado makes everything better! I made friends with the couple next to me, who let me photograph their enormous tlayuda of the day. They offered to bring out some fruit, and the papaya was perfectly ripe and the included some sweet seeds with it. They were fine with both English and Spanish. It was also properly priced (not crazy tourist prices), and probably one of my favorite meals of the trip. I would definitely come back.

Delicious, casual corner eatery. Great for traditional Mexican breakfast and lunch. Open Tuesday through Sunday. Breakfast comes with fresh juice and coffee. The combination guava and orange juice was great, as were the chilaquiles with chicken and eggs.

Chilaquiles w/ Pollo in delicious red sauce: this photo barely captures the excellent flavors and ample size ($98MX)

Little things matter: * The fresh sliced white onions atop my pollo chilaquiles; * The slabs of thick, moist carrot bread delivered before the entrees arrived; * Sweetened, toasted sesame seeds in which to roll the fresh papaya; and * Omelet accompaniments which mimicked the colors of Mexico's flag. La Ki-K is that small, under the radar spot that you should know of when you're in Condesa in search of a blissfully delicious meal served in immaculate surroundings. Someone cares deeply about what this place looks like and what comes out of the kitchen and you're the beneficiary. If not for the locals dining al fresco La Ki-K would've made little impression to me, a passerby. But as I traipsed past one morning I couldn't help but notice the bountiful entrees on the tables and their rich colors. Since I bulleted the highlights above, let me just say that the sauce in which my chilaquiles were bathed was a rich, complex mix of spiciness, satisfying and delicious. The menu here is larger than expected and the prices are a steal if you're accustomed to being scalped by paying for brunch in the US. A meal for two (Chilaquiles, omelet, fruit, carrot bread, rolls, and coffee) - enough food to last us until supper - ran a grand total of $234 MX (less than $13 US). There's other breakfast/brunch places that might catch your eye in this area but what you really want is someplace to sate your tastebuds. La Ki-K is that place.

Papaya with candied sesame seeds

This place is a hidden gem!!! I come to MXC fairly often, and this is one of the best little spots I have found!! Hands down, the best breakfast I have had here yet; way better than any of the usual recommended spots! I had the papaya with candied sesame seeds, coffee, a sparkling water, and crazy delicious eggs from the brunch menu. They were fried in a clay pot with herb oil, cheese, and a mild sausage, with a side of tzazikj sauce. All of this for $8.50 US, including tip!! I have to find the clay pots they use to bring back to the states so I can make this at home, bc I will definitely crave this!! And, I will be back for sure!!

The melon at La Ki-K was fresh and exploded with flavor and the main dish had a fantastic blend of spicy sensations.

We then kicked things off with the arancini, which set the tone right away--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. For mains, we shared a spread and honestly couldn't pick a favorite: the Octopus Tacos were tender and packed with flavor, the Rabbit Tacos were unique and delicious, and the roasted seasonal vegetables "al mojo de ajo" were simple but so satisfying. The marinated pan-fried salmon and fresh trout were both beautifully cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully presented and well executed. But the real showstoppers were the desserts. The fresh goat cheesecake with orange, grapefruit, and lemon was bright and perfectly balanced, and the whisky chocolate crème brûlée was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Desserts truly knocked it out of the park. Bonus points for the cocktails--my hubby was a huge fan. Great food, great drinks, excellent service and relaxed ambiance made for a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend adding Temporal to your Mexico City dining list.

Then, allow the friendly staff to bring as many items from the menu as you can handle. Come with a group so you can share. An absolute must is the whole fish done à la Contramar, one side of the split fish coated in a punchy parsley sauce and the other in a red adobo rub. Served with flour tortillas (which are refillable) and black bean dip, you'll be instructed how to compose perfect bites. Then, choose your own adventure! We also had both the 4 piece each shrimp tostadas and tuna tostadas. Radically different so getting both doesn't duplicate. The pasta (spaghettini) with clams was buttery and garlicky and the pasta was surprisingly not overcooked. Biggest surprise was the grilled soft shell crabs (with corn tortillas). They came pre cut then reassembled so it was easy to pick them up and pop them in your mouth. The grill flavor was fantastic and we were all impressed. We finished with a slice of coconut cake which was like a caramel coated macaroon. Perfect! Large wine list by the glass and bottle, many cocktails, sangria and beer to choose from. Definitely a place to visit when in Mexico City. Sorry for the lack of photos-- we forgot because we dove into each dish (we were hungry and they looked so good)! Got one good one though...

Even though they have…read moreseveral locations across CDMX, we stumbled upon one just a short walk from our hotel--and the fact that they were open on Christmas Day already earned bonus points. What really says it all? We loved it so much, we went back the very next day. This was the only restaurant we repeated during our week-long stay, which should tell you everything. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated--fresh, flavorful, and something for everyone. We tried the croissant sandwich, salmon deli nut sandwich, chutney mango deli sandwich, santos ahogados, fig chipotle deli sandwich, pear honey deli sandwich, and the spicy tuna deli sandwich. The sandwiches came with a standard simple salad. Every single item was delicious, well-balanced, and satisfying in that "clean but filling" way. The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The perfect complement to the food and ideal for starting (or resetting) your day. If you're visiting Mexico City, Ojo de Agua is an absolute must. With such a wide menu, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love--and very likely come back for more. Highly recommend!

We tried a few juices, the chicken tomato salad and the salmon tacos. The salad was huge with a big portion of chicken, avocado and many toppings for a reasonable price. The tacos were smaller but flavorful. Taking off a star because my salad arrived almost 15 minutes before my boyfriend's tacos arrived and the restaurant was pretty empty. The lights were out in the bathroom and in part of the restaurant, so not sure if they were dealing with a partial power outage and impact to the kitchen. Still recommend for the food!
