We stopped in La Parisienne for lunch recently. The menu was heavy on French and Spanish food including many tapas.
Our first choice was Carne à la Piedra/grilled beef steak grill. You had to order it for two, and at $20.90 times two that made lunch a bit too expensive for two people who don't eat very much. It was described as 'grilled at the table on a stone'. Maybe one night for dinner. Our next choice was pizza. (Prices were 11.90 to 14.90 Euros). They'd had such a run on pizza the night before that there was no dough left. Back to the drawing board - er menu.
I asked our sweet waitress for a recommendation. (She spoke English beautifully, btw). She quickly recommended Tapas Mixtas, a plate of several different tapas (Spanish appetizers). $15.90 Euros.
We happily dug into the plate with ample servings of chicken wings, onion rings, ham or cod croquettes, chicken rings with cheese (yummy), mozzarella fingers & the puzzling "three bags of goat cheese". These turned out to be phyllo dough 'bags' with goat cheese inside. A sweet dipping sauce and mayonnaise accompanied. Nice!
Several gas heaters dotted the enclosed porch, but we went inside because it was a chilly day. I noticed a few of what appeared to me to be hookahs- is that what the snake is? (see pics).
Great friendly service and we liked the food too. read more
