Carnitas were disappointing because they were dry and shredded instead of chunks of meat. The tacos were good though, 4 in an order which was very filling. I was craving simple Mexican food and that is exactly what this is…read more The food is very simple and bland. The margarita taste like old sour mix with tequila. The server was nice although it took her a while to come to my table (and I'm a very patient person). Food was bland. Price was comparable to other places which is decent. The salsa is good but i don't like how thick the chips are. They have a nice dining area and outside seating which looks nice.

They had a few tables outside the restaurant as a "patio" but not a full blown patio set up. Our server was quick and attentive, I forgot her name though but she was super pleasant. I forgot to take photos of the menu as well as their daily specials but on Sunday I think it was monster mug for $5.95 or something like that with drinks such as bahama mama, blue electric lemonade, long island tea, etc. Food was pretty decent too :) Would recommend if in the area.

You come for the large marg and end up ordering a full dinner. I judge a Mexican restaurant quite a bit on their chips and dip, with it being free and bottomless being at the top of the list. This place clears that bar. Although the chips felt more store bought than those thin home-made ones. The weather is finally getting nicer and we were able to sit outside, which is highly recommended. The service was great and quick. Our food was very well prepared and my carne asada exceptionally seasoned. Portion sizes are exactly what you'd want. Overall a great experience with not much to complain about!

We tried Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Fenton, Missouri for the first time. My hopes were low…read morebecause I don't really tout Fenton as an area with good Mexican Food - but we were starving so we decided to give it a shot. The atmosphere is pretty on-point for a mid-range Missouri Mexican joint - slightly run down but kept up to an extent. We sat in a booth and were served almost immediately by the same woman who seated us. She took care of us the entire time, she was brief but friendly. The food just wasn't good. It wasn't horrible, but the chips and salsa needed salt, and our entrees were *meh*. My Dad got the Carnitas, which sounded promising, but it was just a dry block of pork with fajita vegetables and tortillas. I just got a Bean Burrito and a Tamale ala carte. Both were fine, but I've had better at Taco Bell for a 1/3rd of the price. I also noticed the bathroom needs cleaned badly, there were gnats swarming the toilet. Overall - Atmosphere/Ambiance - 2.5/5 Service/Attentiveness - 3.75/5 Food and Drinks - 2/5 I wouldn't return but it's not the worst I've had.

Our server was not very friendly at first and she didn't even tell us her name she was a older lady tho, Kids ordered the kids enchilada plate with beans and rice and also a kids cheeseburger with fries. I ordered the Baja wraps. I got one chicken one shrimp, I also ordered the number eight that came with a tamale and an enchilada. My oldest daughter got the shrimp enchilada plate, but switched out the shrimp for steak. I can honestly say the service was terrible. My son who is special needs had to keep getting up to get his drinks refilled. She went to everybody's table checking on them except for ours and anytime my kids would ask questions. It was almost like she was annoyed with them. When the food arrived my plate looked disgusting The tamale was crumbled not even a whole tamale. It had ground beef all over the top, no cheese and a brown sauce. It honestly looked like canned dog food. My daughter's cheeseburger the first time before they've remade. It had no cheese on it so we gave it back so they could add cheese when they brought my daughter's cheeseburger back. It was burnt to a crisp. She even tapped it on the table and it was loud. Now for the good parts, the Baja wrap was phenomenal as well as my daughter's steak enchilada with queso on top. The rice was well seasoned as well as the beans and my son enjoyed his very much. I did not eat my tamale enchilada, rice, or beans because I sent that whole plate back. I am very glad that I ended up ordering the Baja wraps. My only suggestion would be to make sure they don't overcook the chicken in the chicken ones to prevent them from drying out the shrimp ones. Hands-down were absolutely amazing when she brought us the check. They did remove the plate I sent back, but she tried to charge me for three kids meals instead of two when I showed her, she seemed annoyed yet again she brought me back the check I went upfront to pay and we had to stand and wait again on her.We drove 40 min away to try this place and it was kinda a let down

Definitely not as authentic as I was expecting. Cocktails were of the high sugar, vat style. Probably best to go and just have a tequila, chips and salsa with friends bookending going somewhere else for food. Didn't notice the recent ownership change which might account for some of this. Fun experiment but lots of other places to go. But it was really cheap. Actually if I was back to being a broke college student I'd probably give it a higher review. But given the number of only slightly pricier places in a 10 min drive that are properly 4.5+ stars I think this place might need a bit of a refresh.
