Banana bread with blueberries

I have celiac and have tried dozens of all gluten free bakeries and restaurants around the world. This was my favorite. The food is fresh and nourishing, the baked goods are epic (highly recommend the banana bread with blueberries), and the vibe is super cute. I will definitely be back!

First of all, can I just start off by saying that this place is absolute FIRE!! Never have I been in a Gluten-Free bakery of this caliber in my life! So cute, delicious, pretty much everything about this shop is perfect. Located right across the street from El Palacio De Hierro, this place was just a couple of blocks away from where I was staying during my visit in Mexico City. K had actually found this place while we were researching all the best gluten free eateries available in town and La Otilia by far had the best options. When you first walk up into the establishment you can see a couple outdoor patio tables perfect if you're in the mood for something a bit more 'al fresco'. The inside is very Pinterest-y -- cute home & kitchen tables with antique Edison style filament bulbs. The front door is kept wide open to let the cool air in. There are two customer facing fridges available displaying all the gluten free treats available for purchase. One fridge has tons of pies and cupcakes and the other fridge has tons of cookies and other treats that look like possible scones. The staff is just as friendly and the vibe this place gives off. For the most part it is self-seating, we sat ourselves in the patio and this very friendly waitress met us. I cannot remember her name, but she was awesome! If you check in on Yelp right now you get a free Italian Soda with your check-in. Make sure you let them know ahead of time. I had the hibiscus Italian Soda and it was bomb. Very refreshing. One of those drinks you can sip slowly and last throughout your meal. My favorite part was the croissant. OH MY GAH!! This shit was amazing, out of this world, best I ever had! Loaded with slices of turkey breast and melted Manchego Cheese. So good I highly recommend it. My only complain would be that I wish the dish was bigger because I wanted another. LOL K also ordered a side cheesecake with some sort of purple jam on top and he says it was delicious. We plan to come more often if we ever find ourself back in Mexico City. If only they had something like this in Houston.

Stop by here for some sweets after eating at Contramar. I tried their matcha with pistachio cake. It was good but very heavy. I did not finish the rest but ended up taking it back to the Airbnb stay. The space is cute, you can sit down and work on your laptop if you want. Great service.

Brought my son here to enjoy a meal and dessert. He loved it. We had a hawaiana pizza and blueberry French toast plus a matcha muffin and cinnamon roll. It was all very tasty. It is very expensive compared to the rest of Mexico but as a little treat it's worth it.

I am not big into Gluten free places. I am big into this place. It taste different in a very good way. I had Molletes, heart shaped cookies and a latte. Would recommend you try it at least as your desert if you find yourself in Mercadoroma.

My favorite gluten/dairy free bakery in Mexico City!! The food is delicious and you can be assured that all your food is safe to eat if you have any dairy or gluten intolerances!! They also offer a great selection of breakfast meals, coffee, green matcha latte, bowls and so many smoothies! This place is my go to

They cold-press their own almond milk, which is amazingly rich, creamy, and delicious! And try their freshly made juices, which combine different fruits and vegetables for really unique flavor profiles. For breakfast, you can't go wrong with their Eggs Benedict. The homemade Hollandaise is rich and delicious, and the eggs were perfectly poached. Also try the Chilaquiles. They offer it with egg or chicken and the green sauce is to die for. In addition to the kitchen and coffee, they also sell interesting coffees, wholesome chips, gluten-free pastries, and superfoods that are made by local businesses. A definite must-visit in the Roma Norte!

I did arrive a little bit early and I think that they had opened-up just minutes earlier. One of the things that I wanted to order, tacos de pastor, were not ready yet. Not a big deal. Instead I settled on two tacos de pollo milenesa. I wasn't sure how spicey their salsa really was, so I skipped on the salsa altogether. I actually eat a lot of tacos without salsa and they taste just as good to me. The ambiance was up-to-date and the restaurant was nice and clean. The tacos de pollo milenesa were just what the doctor ordered!

We loved the concept here! Basically no set menu, tell the team your dietary preferences, and then…read morethey just keep bringing out food until you're done. As someone who always struggles with trying to figure out what the "right" thing to order is, I absolutely loved not having to worry about this and rather sitting back and enjoying the vibes/ talking to strangers while awaiting "surprise" dishes. They were also able to cater to my vegan diet with every dish being so unique and tasty. We came by twice and between the two visits every dish we had was different. This was overall probably the most fun and tasty meal we had in Mexico City Some tips: - the restaurant is cash only so make sure to bring cash - there's no reservations so make sure to come early because lines are common. We got lucky in that we stopped by on weekdays when it was less busy

I expected too much and this was a let down. This is a unique restaurant where you don't order…read moreanything but drinks. You sit down and they bring whatever seasonal food to you. The concept sounds great. The wait list sounds organized. But no. We were told to put our name in WhatApps for a 40 minute wait. We rushed back in time and still waited another 30 minutes for a communal style table. Then, food came out in rounds, but the rounds were for all tables at the same time, so there was a 20-30 minute wait between each dish, about the size of a palm of the hand. There were no utensils, so we ate everything by hand. While waiting for the food, a street vendor came by to sell carpets. We were extremely tired at this point and decided to leave after 2 underwhelming dishes and 1 dessert. The total time was over 1 hour to wait for a table and over 1 hour for only 3 unfulfilling dishes. I do not trust the Michelin system and this place is a proof of it. Food was good, but by no means excellent or out of this world. Had they brought out the food after 10 minutes, it would have been more acceptable. It wasn't worth the hype in my opinion due to the extreme wait and hold between each dish. I and family also felt extremely gassy soon after, and mind you, this was our first lunch in CDMX. There were only 4 communal tables, about 30 seats. No restroom! Cash only or local transfer.

I can't overstate how much we loved this place! I went to Mexico City with my vegan husband…read morerecently and was so pleasantly surprised with just how many vegan options there were within the city. I am not vegan, so I normally search for a place that has both but this place was so close to our hotel, it was hard to resist. Genuinely- I was blown away, even as an omnivore. Everything was really affordable and quick and I managed to snap a pic of the tacos I ordered, even though my husband devoured his torta before I could document it. We came back for lunch the next day. It's relatively small, but there is seating inside and outside and it is pretty fast, so spots open up quick. If you are vegan or with a vegan- don't miss out on this spot!

We tried the vegan milanesa, al pastor, and suadero tacos, which come with onion and cilantro; and guacamole with chips. When we first arrived we were seated right away. The food came out fairly decently, but all at different times. There is some indoor and outdoor seating, but neither space is very big. The service was a little mixed; one waitress seemed to initially have a negative attitude, but then later was fine; the other waitress who helped us was more friendly; I'll chalk it up to the fact that it was a Sunday night one hour before closing. The food itself tasted good, but nothing out of this world. This place has a punk rock vibe. Overall, I would potentially come back.
