Today on my first trip back to Aix, there's no way I could have found it, considering I was brought there first by Tunisian local friends who introduced me to the joy of North African cuisine. In the 22 years since, I've tried to make it myself, had it at lacking alternatives like in Paris, NY or SF.
Finally, after all these years, the couscous is light, individual (not sticking together), the vegetable stew is perfect, and best of all, the HARISSA is real!!! Feel like I'm 21 again...
P.S. upon entering, this place looks dark and dungeon like, and then it opens up into a beautiful garden!!! Doesn't hurt that the weather is just like at home today!!!
