You have the choice of a four course or six course menu and you can opt for wine pairings or order by the glass. We were part of the second seating and we decided on the smaller menu and ordered a bottle of wine. Each dish that we had was very balanced with lovely, seasonal flavors. My biggest complaint of the evening was the timing. Dinner took over three hours. There was often 45 minutes in between each course. I am all for a long dinner, but I think it is important that the restaurant acknowledges the pace the diners want. The entire restaurant seems to be on the same schedule with every dish, even people who arrived over 45 minutes after us we're getting the first course when we were. I really didn't joy the food but I would think twice about rushing back due to the timing.

Vegetarian dishes are the highlight here, meat and eggs can be added for extra. Then you walk upstairs and see the uniquely decorated "home" that puts a new spin on "eating in". All orders placed at the counter consisted of a couple croissants, a light entree, a dessert, and all you can have coffee, juice, baguette, butter, and jam for 24€. We were given the pastries, and a buzzer to collect our entree and dessert when they were ready from the basement kitchen. So you'll definitely need to be with people who can walk up and down stairs while holding plates- and maybe more than one plate if someone needs to hold a spot at tables. It is pricier than other brunches nearby, but it is also a novelty and part of what you're paying for is the unlimited nature of the buffet and time you will occupy the adorably decorated but limited space.

Hidden in an angle street of rue de la roquette, this place has a dozen wooden tables and benches. It is fully decorated by its wine bottles so you know what you step into. The owners are extremely friendly and passionate about the wines they serve, which they know perfectly. They go mostly for organic wines and have a preference for Languedoc reds which they find have a better quality/price ratio. There are a few wines from the other regions as well. In total, you'll find probably 50-80 wines on the menu, all deliberately chosen by the owner who will be happy to talk about them. This place is a mix between a wine shop and a restaurant: you can buy the bottles to go or drink it in the restaurant for an additional premium (6 or 8 euros, can't remember). The food is simple but good: charcuterie or cheese plates to share, some grilled meat or fish. Try the calamari and the burrata as appetizers, they're pretty good. All in all, you spend a great time in this place: you discover new wines and you eat some good food. This is a great place to bring a group of friends!

Fully booked at precisely 10h00 three-weeks in advance, just as it has been for more than a decade, arrival at 80 Rue de Charonne finds the green-fronted bistro largely indistinguishable from those surrounding while an interior of concrete and wood is neither exciting nor particularly comfortable. At one point part of the "Bistronomy" movement, but now perhaps best considered a Micro-seasonal experience right down to its beverages, guests are invited to begin with Aperitifs well-suited to deeply flavored Onion Broth and signature Gougeres served piping hot with bold spicing. Ambience is French countryside rustic - Didn't have to dress up, didn't have to wait for choreographed service or any of the nonsense that the low reviews seem to crave. Just a very good restaurant. Some of the pairings were super interesting and really transformed the dish. However, on the day of our service, some dishes (such as the grilled endive) was a bit of a let down. There was a wine that is intentionally oxidated, very daring pairing but I was not a fan. Would like to come back and give it one more try!
