The resturants food may taste good to yall but let me tell u what I have seen and experienced first hand. The bread let's start there they make you serve the bread with mold spots on them if u look at other reviews u will see my comment backed up. The mold spots can be so small and until it was pointed out to me I would of never knew it was mold. The person who helps prepare the chicken came to me to tell me not to eat the chicken for a few days because there was a very bad odor coming from the raw chicken and she brought it up to the owners and they still had her prepare it so they could serve it. The place is dirty go feel the table tops full of stuck on grease and grut look at the seats food all in the damaged seats. The soups and sauces they prepare r done in same containers not cleaned out properly and they sit them on the floor uncovered while they hand that back door open and flies all over it. When its state time they try to clean the nasty fridges and freezers where they have ton of probably old out dated food all over those freezers. Also I have watch the employees work many hours and handling different food items and NOT wash their hands.. the owners r mean to their employees and push u to get things done and rush u and push u faster and ur first job isn't done and handling chicken and not able to wash hands and wants u to help employees without washing ur hands which causes cross contamination this is horrible service. Our new Friday night take out place! Amazing food and terrifically kind owners. Last night we ordered the chicken ghallaba and the beef shawarma platters which came with hummus and a side salad. The portions are so generous and everything was so fresh tasting! We also had the baklava, which was was the best baklava I've ever tasted. I can't say enough nice things about this place. What a delight. It was not too pungent, very creamy. The avgolemono soup was fabulous. I think they added a bit of cumin which really added a punch. I've never experienced that with this dish. Nice touch. There's falafel and there's falafel- these were incredible. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside. I'm not a big fan of tahini, but it was homemade and the perfect addition. Relishes were pickle strips and pickled turnip strips, all in a chopped bed of lettuce. My waitress, Avery, was holding down the fort, taking orders and delivering dishes as quickly as possible. i have been eating here for 20 years and am beyond disappointed with my dining experience today. We were there for over 1.5 hours and never actually received the whole table's food. what food that we did receive was crusty and dried out. it took a half hour for the waitress to come to our table, she took our orders and never came back. After waiting for quite awhile we had to ask for our drinks which took another 10 minutes to get. we also had to ask for our salads, only one of four were brought. I had to go to the register to ask for the rest of our salads. No one came so again asked the waitress for our salads. After another long wait she came with our salads and right behind her was the owner with our meals. We asked to be given time to eat our salads and we would like hot fresh food after we ate our salads. When we finished our salads we were brought the same food that was brought half an hour earlier which by this time was very bad. Also the whole table did not receive their food. We asked twice for the missing food and were brought the wrong food. No one was able to eat any of their food and when I asked for the owner and explained our experience he told me it was a bad day there and said he would only credit one if the meals. When I explained no one was able to eat the food he didn't care, said i had to pay over half the bill and we were not welcome in his restaurant any longer. Very, very disappointed, will never return to this establishment and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My mother in law has been talking about this place for weeks, so today after driving her to a doctors appointment she treated me to lunch. The food was great! We got a carry out and it was ready in 15 minutes. We got a couple of pita wraps, garlic dip and hummus. The falafel was delicious but not crunchy like I have had at other places. The garlic dip was great and not too strong. The hummus was creamy and delicious. Beware though the pita bread that comes with it isn't what my husband and I refer to as "the good kind", which is the puffy fresh baked variety. It was the flat style. It's official-this place rules! I love Middle Eastern food, but often find that I only like certain dishes at certain restaurants. NOT HERE! Every single thing we have tried here has been just outstanding. And we have now tried a lot. Their baba and hummus are both incredibly good. The baklava boasts chunks of pistachios inside. We've had soups, salads, stuffed grape leaves. Their sandwiches are large and in charge! The chunks of meat in the kabobs are huge as well. Falafel. I love it, but at so many places it's fried so tough and dry that it's hard to even chew! La Mia's falafel is a dream-moist and flavorful inside. A deal too for the falafel plate served with extras! I don't eat meat, and there are plenty of options for me. My husband does, and he raves every time here. They have garlic sauce that is outstanding, the only real complaint that I have is that they could make the inside a bit cozier, food is Great, waitress was great, but the interior just felt really cold and uncomfortable, if they had someone come in and redo the interior, that would make a world of difference. Decided to try this place on a friend's suggestion. Didn't dine in, just grabbed a carryout. Had the chicken shwarma sandwich combo, which came with a choice of two sides. I opted for tabbouleh and hummus. The sandwich was large and very tasty. Good garlic sauce and a nice crunch to the pickles. I was impressed with the size of the sides - the tabbouleh was packed in a small carryout container, so I wound up with leftovers of that, and it tasted very fresh. The hummus was a little bland, but otherwise ok. The also provided a generous portion of pita bread with the sides. Service was fast and very friendly. Considering the lack of Mediterranean restaurants in the Mt Clemens area, I'm sure I'll be back. read more

I seen La Mia had great reviews on Yelp and had a 4.5 star rating. My dinner sounded pretty promising before I even stepped through the door. Not! My boyfriend and I waited close to give minutes to get seated. Nobody in sight to help us during 'dinner time'. Once seated we browsed the menu. I think if the owners updated the menu with descriptions perhaps items would be more appetizing and leave customers asking less questions about items. While looked at the menu the waitress brought us the garlic dip and pita bread. Nasty. The pita bread isn't homemade like almost all middle eastern/Mediterranean restaurants. The dip wasn't well blended together and the texture was thick and chunky yet watery. My boyfriend and I both ordered the chicken schwarma pita combo with hummus. I asked the waitress what kind of hummus and she said 'homemade'. Well then. Chicken was extremely dry and overcooked. Pickles in the pita were not fresh and some were brown. The hummus was the blandest thing I ever put in my mouth. I wish they had store bought hummus instead, at least THAT has flavor. I should mention the service isn't very attentive. I asked for no ice in my water and I got 'extra ice'. My boyfriend waited 15 minutes for a refill on his pop. In addition, my boyfriend and I pointed out to the waitress that there was a bunch of spiders (dead and alive) right next to our table. She told us 'it can't be.
