Total glory came out of a crisis here. I'm a fuss-free bride, so I was happy to have cupcakes as…read moredessert for my wedding. Two weeks before the big day, the father of the bride decided that he would like to have input on dessert and he wanted a wedding cake (no cupcakes). He was the one fronting my budget and had made no other requests, so I decided to honor him and let him have some input. I spent a little time surfing the web and pinterest, called two cake places (a little nervously since this was a destination wedding. Most brides seem to at least get to taste their cakes beforehand), and found Gloria's. I found pictures of what I wanted on pinterest and emailed them the photos. I emailed them once with directions and called to confirm. They understood me very quickly. I got a very simple roughly iced turqouise cake that faded into white. It was strawberry on the inside with buttercream icing. My groom got a carrot cake (this one is awesome!) with buttercream icing and a very simple design. I am SO HAPPY with them! The cakes came out phenomenal - they were cost-effective, beautiful, tasty cakes. The staff was friendly, responsive, and followed every detail to a T. They also worked VERY quickly (who orders a wedding cake the WEEK before your wedding?) and had an idea for a "Plan B" cake topper for my cake when I couldn't afford my "plan A." They delivered the cake at the time requested, and true, they didn't accept credit cards. So I did have to fedex them a check over the weekend to get the process rolling. But I wasn't disappointed in the least. Going with Gloria's was one of the BEST wedding decisions that I made. Just a note: (I saw the other review about needing to send in a photo - and I agree; Find a picture of what you want and send it to them. As an artist, I can understand that they need to literally see what you want. I sent them photos of exactly what I want and got exactly what I showed them.) I found out that they also made a wedding cake for another bride who had her wedding the day after my wedding. She also recently posted on facebook that she was very happy with her cake as well.

Thank you . Will be going here for his next birthday cake as well. I added the happy birthday banner because both Gloria's and I forgot to mention if I wanted happy birthday on the cake but it's ok. :)!! Also her shop is very clean and customer service is very good. They always answer the phone as well.

Walking through the doors is nostalgic invoking your own walk through history. If you've never been you won't be disappointed and begin your own experiences. Grab a box with one of everything and you still will have plenty more to sample. Ive traveled through many states and places specializing in this sweet pastries but never find anything as delicious. The staff is very friendly eager to help and always smiling. Even the owner will be there in the front lines assisting. Like the olden days. You can even get a cup of coffee and talk story. They also have a few grocery items in case you need to grab milk, eggs and a soda. The ambiance is just down home. Maybe I'll see you there grabbing your favorite piece of "pan dulce". Yes, they are "Special".

They have quite a selection of freshly made items. I would suggest getting there early if you are looking for something specific as they did have several empty trays. Everything we ordered was delicious as usual. I did not see or get to try any barbacoa or tamales, but maybe next time. This place has a history and is an important part of San Benito. If you're ever in the area, put it on your list of places to visit.

Incredible flavors. We ordered four different flavors for a zoom style birthday party, one custom…read more(chocolate cherry) and three from their amazing list (anything for Selenas, You're a cupcake Harry, and Lemonberry). I can't even describe how good they were. My favorite bakery recently closed for good (we miss you, Anne's Kitchen Cakes!) and there was a scramble to find a last minute replacement, so we tried this bakery based on how awesome their flavors looked and I'm so glad we did. They were all moist and decadent with just the right amount of sweetness. Not overly sugary, but plenty sweet. I find that a lot of even the most professional looking bakeries in town have rather grainy icing, but all the icing was smooth and luscious. Each cupcake was very different from the other, which I really liked. So much of the time cupcakes end up rather identical, but with different flavors in the icing, etc. These were all individual works of delicious art. I also want to say that the owner was incredibly kind, and brought me extra packaging so we could distribute to all the party goers doorsteps. He was super communicative, texted about delivery and made awesome suggestions about the fantastic woopie-pies we also enjoyed the heck out of. I honestly can't wait to try the rest of the flavors, I'm trying to think of excuses to get more dozens of cupcakes. We're already talking about what we want to order for our (inevitably) zoom Halloween celebration. Thank ya'll so much for a wonderful showing. Zoom birthdays are a bit of a bummer sometimes, but these really made things better. We all really enjoyed them (and are continuing to enjoy them because I think I ordered like a dozen per party guest, ha ha -but I'm not sad about it.)
