Came here with my family for dinner and had a pretty decent time. I ordered the enchiladas suizas and they were alright, chicken was a little dry and didn't have a ton of flavor. The margaritas were pretty good and a really good size lol. My main complaint was that our service was not great. We went here for early dinner 3:45. Only 3 tables with customers. Chips and salsa came right away. We got the bottom of the bag. Lots of little pieces but the salsa was fine. The food came quick after we ordered. I ordered cheese and a beef enchilada. My husband ordered the three beef enchiladas. While the food was good and I have no complaints, nothing stood out. Not a place most think of for authentic Mexican food, but La Mesa has some great dishes and the food is consistently really good. One of my favorites is the Quesadilla de Camarones. The shrimp have great flavor and are surprisingly very fresh tasting. The quesadilla is huge with plenty of shrimp, cheese sauce and peppers stuffed inside. The Nacho Fajitas are also pretty good. The portion is big and can easily be ordered as an app or shared between two people. La Mesa is a go to place I've been to many times over the years. Good old La Mesa. I've came here a number of times over the years. From a person who doesn't like authentic Mexican food, this place actually wasn't bad! The servers and hostesses are always nice and accommodating. You sit down and for starters you have unlimited chips and salsa; and the salsa is really delicious. I usually order the Enchiladas Acapulco or the Chimichanga, mainly the chimi as of late. The Chimi is so good. It has a lot of meat in it and I usually throw the sour cream and other fixins on top, and make sure I get some beans, rice and Chimi with every bite. The margaritas are pretty good too. Nice blend of tequilla and sour mix. Overall, I have grown to really like this place. The last time, I was there, which was a couple weeks ago, everything went right. We got in, waited a little while for a seat, sat down, ordered, ate, paid and left. All very fast. I will definitely come back and get me another Chimi soon! read more

My parents eat here because it's cheap, but have recently switched to frequenting Romeo's more often because they feel their dishes to be more flavorful. I think what pulls my parents here is the free chips and salsa, mostly. I do like that the salsa is spicy. Usually the only time I visit is with my parents when I'm visiting from Los Angeles. I order a cheese enchilada. The cheese is cheap but when I want something salty it most definitely hits the spot. We dropped in for dinner with a party of 5, and were seated prompty at around 5:30 pm. This was $1.98 Margherita Wednesday, and we tried them, and for $2, you can't go wrong. Just went in asked to talk to a manager, no manager available but talked to someone at the front desk. La Mesa is my Go-To Mexican restaurant! If I want a good compliment of Mexican faire, I go to LM! From entry to exit the experience is usually pleasant! PROS: The food is good, the beer is cold and relatively well priced, the service is as it should be and the place(s) are usually clean and well decorated. CONS: The time spaces for LM's Happy Hours stink! Mon-Thu, 3-5 then 8 till close? Really? Also, the appetizer menu could be expanded to accommodate more bar centric patrons. LM is a fun place to eat & drink, but not so much to just casually go for a drink & chips. read more

It's a decent place to eat. That said, over the last few years, the service has become kind of spotty. Sometimes it's good and sometimes they are playing on their phones and don't get around to getting refills on drinks or clearing plates from tables. The food is usually pretty good. The last time we went, my daughter's chicken strips were raw in the middle....as in pink, rubbery and refrigerator cold in the center. This happens with chicken strips cooked on timers sometimes. The timer says it's done but it isn't. Usually it wouldn't be a big deal, but our server never came back to the table until we were done eating and she was bringing the check, so we weren't able to ask her to take the raw chicken back. We just set it aside and shared our other plates. As we were paying,a manager came by and was kind enough to take it off the check. So, we don't eat there as often anymore, and when we do, it's usually for lunch. The service is faster and better during lunch most of the time and you don't run into too many problems. read more

Not sure where to start with this review. The service here was beyond excellent. Our server, made sure we had everything we needed, and even gave us suggestions on what drinks and food were the best. I had a chicken burrito and my wife had a chicken chimichanga. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The flavors of everything we ordered were amazing. I was on vacation in Omaha, Nebraska and a few of my friends took me to La Mesa. When you first walk in you quickly notice the restaurant's nice decorations and the vivid paints and colors. It is very clean and comfortable. Right when you sit at the table you are greeted and given water and chips with salsa. I wasn't a very big fan of the salsa. It was too mild for me and not very flavorful. For my drink I ordered Horchata. I have had several good ones in many different restaurants; however, La Mesa topped them all. For my meal I ordered Chile Rellenos (A la Carte). They were filled with cheese and were excellent. I also ordered the Jalisco Fajitas. It was a mixture of chicken, beef, and shrimp. The portion was very big and they were also very delicious. Our waitress was very kind and did a perfect job. My experience at this restaurant was very positive. If I am ever to visit Nebraska again I will definitely have La Mesa on my list of restaurants to visit. read more

Fake Mexican food! They don't even use Monterey Jack cheese they use white American cheese for chiles rellenos!! Yuck!! They're enchiladas were hard tortilla like you can tell it wasn't cooked right!
