For many years, I have been going to ENT doctors for an assortment of ailments. One ailment that I…read morewas told I have by every ENT doctor I went to was that I had a deviated septum. So, I asked if it could be fixed, and they all claimed that it could be fixed, but there wouldn't be any significant change. So, I said I am willing to do it even if there is a minor change, and they retorted that it just wasn't worth it and refused to do the procedure to correct it. I didn't go to just any doctors; I went to top-notch doctors, many from this company, and I also saw doctors who taught in prestigious hospitals like Mount Sinai in Manhattan. This is a sample of the doctors I visited. About A. Paul Vastola, MD https://www.entandallergy.com/find-a-doctor/a-paul-vastola-md/ Dr. Paul Vastola, who has been in practice for over 20 years, is an experienced, friendly, compassionate, and highly trained Adult and Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist. Dr. Vastola graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS in Molecular Biology and went on to receive his Medical Degree from the Boston University School of Medicine, where he was on the National Dean's List and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency at the NY Hospital--Cornell Medical Center for General Surgery and at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital for Otolaryngology. He then pursued a Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Baylor College of Medicine--Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Vastola has authored numerous presentations and publications on topics related to Pediatric Otolaryngology and has also provided his skills and expertise to multiple Medical Missions overseas. This went on for years, and I got older and didn't want to travel a distance to see those fancy doctors who did nothing for me. I then looked up a doctor close to me, and it was the New York Institute of Otolaryngology, Dr. Raj Bhayani. I made an appointment to see the doctor, and he examined me and told me right away that I had a deviated septum and I should get it fixed. I was flabbergasted. I said I went to many doctors, and they told me it wasn't worth it. He insisted that that was nonsense and it would certainly help you. I was skeptical and checked the doctor out on the internet and studied the procedure he claimed to do, and I thought I had nothing to lose, so I made an appointment and had the operation. I had a little difficulty with bleeding; however, that finally went away. In the subsequent weeks and months, I felt a significant change. I can sleep much better, breathe better, my appetite was better, my sniffling for many years went away and my overall feeling was better. I am very happy that I had the procedure, and I want to thank the doctor and the staff for being so wonderful. P.S. If anyone wants more information, you can email me at peterusa311@outlook.com

We waited almost an hour after our appointment time, but it all made sense when we got to see the doctor. Dr. B patiently sat with my grandmother for around 2 and a half hours. She asked her a ton of questions about her hearing issues, current hearing aids, and general activity. She is also the only doctor that has ever spoken loudly and clearly enough for my grandmother to understand. She tested my grandmother's hearing in a soundproof booth, and explained in great detail what her issues are and what could be done about them. I should mention that my grandmother is also legally blind (which throws off a lot of medical professionals), but Dr. B taught her how to use her hearing aids by feel, which was amazing! My grandmother got new hearing aids, as well as a tester pair to use for a week while they were being built. We had some personal issues in the interim, so it took a while for us to pick up the new hearing aids, but Dr. B's office was super kind and flexible! We also got to try them for a few weeks at home before we had to pay for them, which we were able to do over the phone. Fair warning that the office is in the basement of an apartment building which is NOT handicap accessible. There is a ramp to get into the building, but there are two or three small steps to get to the office. The office itself is also small, but my grandmother's wheelchair just barely fit in. My grandmother's hearing is much better, and we are very happy with Forest Hills Audiology!

Dr. Boruhkov provided thorough testing and explained everything in a way I could understand. She was incredibly kind and attentive, listening carefully to my concerns and making me feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. Dr. Boruhkov took the care & time to teach me about my new hearing aides and answered my questions and concerns without judgement. Dr. Roxanne Borukhov and Dr. Kathleen Kalschmid both possess professionalism, knowledge and humor; traits that create an excellent hearing healthcare environment. I was set up with my new hearing Oticon devices. I'm still getting used to them but during my second visit, I received adjustments that made a helpful difference. The ladies at the reception desk are professional, kind and helpful as well. It isn't always that you can find these qualities in my experience. On a side note: On my way to the office, I slipped and fell . I hurt my hand and arm. Kristen at reception, fixed me up with a bandaid, Bacitracin and a cup of water. Dr. Kalschmid checked my arm and hand and talked to me until I calmed down. Dr. Boruhkov did the same. They go above and beyond to make their patients feel seen, heard and taken care of. I recommend Forest Hills Audiology!

The next time I visited was a few months later and she was re-reading my past results and told me I had gallstones. I asked her why didn't you tell me this information when I had the telehealth visit, she said she forgot to turn the page. The second time was when I was getting a checkup. She told me I was missing the last dose for a vaccine, I had only gotten two doses. The second vaccine I had taken was over a year ago. I told her that no one informed me that I needed a third vaccine otherwise I would have scheduled it. She said I was the one who needed to schedule the vaccine appointment. I was going to the doctor's office consistently so she failed to notice that I needed an additional vaccine for a year. She never apologized for her office's mistake or took any accountability. Her secretaries barely speak any English so it is hard to get anything done. For example, I was at a radiology office and Dr. Xu forgot to sign the referral order. Her office refuted that the referral was not signed. The intake person repeated what she said over three times. They eventually faxed over the referral but it was not signed. This incident wasted 30 minutes of my time because of Dr. Xu office's uncooperativeness. The last incident was that I asked her office for a letter with my medical conditions and treatments for work purposes. She told me that she has no responsibility to provide me any documentation. This is a clear violation of my hipaa rights.
