Loved this place! I am surprised it doesn't have better reviews. The decor, ambiance and service are amazing. Every dish we had was so good but the salmon bombs were definitely my favorite. And my passion fruit drink was not only delicious but a work of art! Would definitely recommend and go back when I'm in Guadalajara.

I arrived at La Madalena fully prepared to roll my eyes, thinking it was more about the 'gram than trying to provide a dining experience of any substance. But I will admit...I was wrong. The service was disarmingly good: a waiter who actually anticipated needs and a maître d' who clearly believes in standards. The cocktails were clever and genuinely fun, not "conceptual for the sake of it." And despite my best efforts to remain unimpressed, the place delivered

6,7,8,10, 20 starts if possible. This is on my top three list of all time. What an amazing experience was to come and visit this beautiful place. Very high end and great food. Beyond great I would say the food is of superb quality. The service, the servers, the ambiance, the decor, very amusing. Will definitely go back.

Amazing food, Service was amazing. Antonio was the best waiter, served us our food made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Overall a great experience. SHOUT OUT ANTONIO

If I could give a perfect score across the board, I would. My experience was exceptional, prompting me to dine there twice during my brief stay in GDL. For those who complain about not splitting checks, it's essential to recognize that restaurants cannot be expected to cater to requests that tourists are accustomed to from their home countries. Every menu item featured rich, full-flavored ingredients, and the expertly crafted cocktails ranged from classic martinis to margaritas. I highly recommend this restaurant; reservations are essential, and if you desire to be treated like royalty, La Madalena is the ideal choice. Kudos to Esau, Andreu, Roberto, Trujillo, Héctor, Alma, all hostesses, Alma and Vero for their outstanding service

Food was amazing and loved how attentive our server was. Jovanny and the rest of the staff know what they're serving and also offer great recommendations. Loved the ambiance and vibes as soon as you walk in. Next time in Guadalajara we will be back! :)

Came and had a reservation for 9, make sure to dress somewhat modest. They had one of us girls cover up due to this establishment being a "family friendly" place. Felt off because other girls dressed showingly. Food was good, ordered the tomahawk steak and shared it amongst us. Definitely get the lobster mac and cheese. Drinks were good too. Staff was also very attentive and nice. The restroom area has a cool little photo spot. Lots of mirrors and lights

Food and our waiter was amazing my only complaint is the guy that came to charge my card. He was rude and aggressive, I wanted to tip cash but he force me to tip on my card saying no we only take card tip and still after I did want he said he made a face because I choose 15% like if that wasn't enough mind you my bill was almost $500 usd. After I ask my the host is that true and she confirmed no so I continued to look for my waiter and I gave him cash but that's very unfair he did such amazing job and went above and beyond.

My first time in Guadalajara! The breathtaking beauty of the city did not disappoint. The beautiful people here did not disappoint. How about the fine dinning here? A couple family members went to university here and took me to this place, their favorite restaurant. I love the decor! We were seated in a half moon section surrounded by books, goes very well with the proud intellectual tradition of this city. The ceiling is an LED that changes throughout the night. The wait staff is extremely well trained and attentive, with a manager constantly walking around checking on the staff and customers. The best service I have had for a long time. The drinks were a highlight for my dinning mates. Beautifully crafted with unique presentations for each. We had the salmon and rock shrimp appetizers, both are really well done, and meticulously presented and served onto our plate by the staff. Now the main course. And the only reason for me to be here, the genuine Japanese A5. Many expensive restaurants serve Wagyu that is not genuine. But this place has the certificate in Japanese at the entrance! And a golden certificate in Spanish at the reservation desk. I had the A5 New York. It is served table side. Delicate thin slices grilled on hot stone by a staff, and placed on your plate as they cook. The meat was soft, juicy, perfectly seasoned, perfectly prepared. A memorable dining experience. It went really well with a surprisingly good Mexican cab. Two of my dining mates ordered their extremely popular ribeye, topped with a tangy Mexican sauce, very nice also. Overall i thoroughly enjoyed this place and plan to fly in with my wife soon to eat here again! Lastly, the price is also on the premium side.

I don't like giving bad reviews but I didn't have a good experience here but I will keep the details to my self.... If you don't get to sit in the inside of the restaurant with video ceiling .. then be prepared to smell like smoke.. It was my wife's birthday so we made the best of it. Our waiter was a good sport, very friendly guy!

We had a reservation set for 2215 on a Wednesday evening. We arrived 5 minutes early, was told that our table was not ready and we would have to wait 30 minutes to be sat. That has never had happened to me when booking a reservation. Once sat it was difficult hear the server. The ambiance was too loud for my taste. My wife was needing some guidance on selecting a wine. The server stated that he was a sommelier, however he had trouble explaining the wines. My wife was looking for a big bold red and he directed her towards a French Pinot noir. Another thing to note that this restaurant does not offer a small taste of wine to assist with selecting. We decided we would only order a couple small appetizers to see if our experience was going to get better. The first we ordered was queso fundido, our server gave us a warning that it was spicy and checked to see if that was alright with us. Spice is one of our favorite flavors and our pallete is well adapted. The queso fundido did not come to the table piping hot as it should and the tortillas were cold and no spice or flavor whatsoever in the dish. We tried the scallops appetizer next. This one was served as a mini tostada and the accompanying parts went perfectly. We decided to not continue with any more and try another restaurant. We did however have a couple bites of the chocolate volcano cake. It had so much melted molten goo. The proportion of molten inside vs outside cake ratio was off but the flavor was there. Probably would not come back.

what a phenomenal experience! made a reservation via the yelp app. upon our arrival we checked in and were promptly seated. let say that the atmosphere and decor was so beautiful. it felt like you were walking through a mystical garden and into an immersive study room. our server and staff were amazing! great service an attention to detail. they presented each dish with such personality and skills. our appetizers were delicious! i can say we would okay if that was all we ordered. our dishes we cooked to perfection and tasteful. I would recommend you share your dishes as they are very much well served. the cocktails were so refreshing and beautifully garnished. i would like to state the the prices are reasonable for the quality and the service they provided. la madalena was an experience within itself. the immersive roof was just well worth it for a visit. it changes ever so often and its a combination of popular art pieces like Monet, Van Gogh and much more. the restrooms where a charm on its own. so fun and full of personality. i love the fact that they were all private on its own. what delicious dessert! we shared a scrumptious carrot cake and had enough for us to delight in this treat for 2-3 day later. the serving piece was HUGE!! just look at my photo! I was so happy we were able to enjoy such a wonderful location as this! if you are visiting Zapopan, Jal and are in Andares go have a meal here youll be delighted!

The Ceviche Docena was outstanding--fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced, clearly made with top-quality seafood. The biggest surprise of the night, though, was the beef tongue taco. Wow wow wow. Incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and easily one of the best tacos I've had in a long time. I would fly back just for that taco. We also tried the escamoles taco since we always like to try something new. While it was interesting and I'm glad we experienced it, it's not something I'd order again--but no regrets. OMG! The Iberico!!! Just shut up and get it. Overall, a fantastic meal with great service, beautiful ambiance, and some truly memorable dishes. Don't skip the ceviche--and absolutely do not miss the beef tongue taco.

Fantastic choice! Restaurant was full at lunchtime, although we were seated properly without a reservation. Not outside, but had an outdoor feel. Extensive seafood menu, heavily oriented toward fresh oysters, clams, and other amazing seafood, which was all presented in a fantastic manner and delicious. Anyone that thinks this place was pricey or not a winner must've had a bad experience that would've been out of the ordinary in my opinion. It's not cheap to be sure, but it was not expensive. In my opinion great quality and nice. Nice portions. We had two primary servers who are pictured in this review. Ignacio and Lalo - incredibly friendly and obviously wanted us to enjoy our meal. Made excellent recommendations definitely added to the wonderful late lunch experience. We travel a lot, and this is clearly some of the best seafood/oysters we've had in a long time.
