Pastor

Flour tortillas are fabulous. I had the pork chop taco and a pastor taco. I love to eat I took one of each and it filled me up the small little restaurant but friendly people the food sports stuff you cannot go wrong coming here and trying a little piece of Latin America. They have a variety of hamburgers which come with fries at decent prices I'll be back for the breakfast and update

What a fantastic place a very small hole in the wall but family owned and really nice of them especially since it was a party of 13 that came in last minute took very care of us. The tacos were tasty and nachos were my favorite.

Barbacoa was all meat.

Good was fresh. Ingredients had flavor. Small place, but packs a lot of flavor and freshness. Great breakfast spot!!! Probably the best on Austin highways that's for sure !!

So I was headed somewhere else and found this place. Walked in and was greeted immediately. Didn't see salad on the menu so I asked. He could see I was in my workout clothes and said yes he would make one for me and he would make it low carb!!! He added delicious grilled chicken, beef and bacon yummm!! It had guacamole, sour cream and two different cheeses. This salad was da bomb. I don't care that it's across town I will be dining there again.

When I was looking for a new place to try near my parents home while visiting, I saw this place and that it has a 5 star. I mean the reviews were selling it and I bought in. First I will say that the place is your average place, small and cozy. The gentleman that helped us was nice and attentive so they certainly have that going for them.... Now to the food. Granted we only got breakfast tacos but some folks raved about them.... Well I felt cheated. :( The tacos are a good size so you do get value for your money but I swear I must have put 3 packages of salt on each taco and tons of salsa to give it some flavor. They are not the worse I have ever eaten but they were just ok. It isn't a place I would return too, at least not for breakfast tacos. Maybe their other items are more flavorful.

Strawberry Lemonade....AMAZING!!

Fresh homemade salsa and fresh squeezed lemonade were a great start. Food, while tasty, lacked a bit of quality. The steak burrito and quesadilla were dry and the milanesa was too thick and too chewy. Since I'm not from Texas, Chicago born and raised. I have to remember that not all Mexican restaurants use corn tortillas. Some actually like Luna Azul use flour.

Burrito with some super Nachos in the background.

I might be related to the owner but that grilled cheese is and yes it is a family runned business and that is something else that is good.

We ordered the half chicken ($11), and I was honestly surprised by how juicy and moist it still was inside. The outside had a wonderful smoky charcoal flavor, and the marinade was flavorful all the way through. It also came with rice, corn tortillas, red and green salsa, grilled jalapeño, lime, and grilled onion, so it was a really filling meal for the price. We also tried the Bean Burger ($9.79), which was a fun combination of a beef patty, refried beans, cheese, chipotle sauce, and pico de gallo. I enjoyed it, although I personally would have loved a thicker layer of beans. The green salsa was SO good that I ended up buying an extra container for about $5 to take home. The restaurant itself is very casual and no-frills, with a big charcoal grill that really adds to the atmosphere--you can see and smell the chicken cooking. It feels much more like a local neighborhood spot than a polished tourist restaurant. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Even though we arrived late, we never felt rushed, and our server checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I would absolutely come back for the chicken and green salsa.

The green sauce is my favorite so far of all the pollo asadas places I have tried so far in San Antonio area. The beef fajitas were another favorite. We were first planning to get their viral pumpkin torta but then decided on trying some of their other dishes instead. The Chicharrones came with guacamole and a delicious salsa that was quite spicy, but also incredibly tasty. The salsa complemented the chicharrones, especially once we placed them in tortillas to make our tacos. Four of us shared this appetizer and we were able to make two tacos each. The chicharrones also had a nice crispy skin on the outside but with pork meat available on the other end. I had the omelette de Rajas and it was perfectly seasoned with crispy corn chips in the middle, which I thought went perfectly with the tender delicious omelette and sauce that surrounded it. It came with a side of beans and potatoes which honestly I hardly ate because the Chicharrones were so filling. My partner got the pork mole, and I thought the mole sauce on it was really interesting because it seemed to feature toasted sesame seeds, which gave it a nice crunch and flavor. Please see my pictures to see the dishes we all tried. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, accommodating, and apologetic about the wait. After trying their food, I can honestly say that it was well worth the wait. My only suggestion would be to please be sure that no one plays their in phone or iPad loudly, and instead uses headphones so as to not disturb any of the patrons enjoying they're lovely meals. We will all definitely be back.
