The mocktails were not only delicious but beautifully presented, which made them feel a little extra special. For appetizers we had the house bread & butter and the French onion soup. The bread was fresh and paired with a high-quality, creamy butter that tasted amazing. The French onion soup arrived in the cutest little pot with a lid and had a rich, savory flavor with perfectly melted cheese on top. Unfortunately, there were whole peppercorns in the soup (I fished out four), which was surprising and almost ruined an otherwise great dish. Entrées were a mix of hits and misses. The grilled salmon with dinner potatoes was the star of the night--perfectly cooked, flaky, and full of flavor. Absolutely spot on. The crab cakes were a good size with lots of crab and a nicely crisp exterior, but I did find pieces of crab shell in mine. The side salad that came with it was the biggest disappointment--no option to swap it out and the lettuce was visibly brown. We also ordered the mushroom pasta. I didn't personally try it, but it looked great; however, I was told the flavor was a bit lacking. Dessert totally redeemed any small issues--the chocolate mousse cake was incredibly decadent and rich. Definitely a must-try. I even took a slice home for my husband. The grounds felt a little scattered, and the team working seemed a little cold to my in-laws (despite them being long time members and locals).
