So I just purchased a new home and called La Jolla Locksmith. Danny answered and was able to meet me at the property the following day. This guy showed up clean cut and asked me exactly what I wanted. The home had 11 doors with all different locks on them ‍ (11 LOCKS. WHO DOES THAT????). I asked to have them all changed and only a key for the 4 outer doors. They guy got to work and within 45 minutes he was done. Tested and had 2 spares made as well! All at a completely fare price. I've used Danny for about 6 years now, have not been disappointed once. I've actually learned a lot about locks, push bars, cylinder types, door closer intensity levels, types of louvers etc etc. He can be pretty chatty but in a good way if you let him. I used to be in commercial real estate and every project required me to get 3 bids. Whenever I had to bid out a lock or door repair, Danny would be the lowest bid, 100% of the time. Part of this story is what I experienced BEFORE I found La Jolla Locksmith Corp. After opening my security gate leading to my entry door and having the knob fall off in my hand, I pulled out the trusty La Jolla Blue Book and turned to Locksmiths. Calling one of the first large ads, I described my plight and asked them to come right away. I was told it would be a much higher cost than I expected. I asked why. "Well, rates jump significantly for site visits after 5:00 PM." I said, "It's 3:45 PM!" He said, "By the time we get there (2 miles) it'll be 5:00 PM." I hung up and then called another ad, La Jolla Locksmith Corp. I left a message at 4:15 PM and got a call back at 5:00 PM. "No, I don't charge an 'after 5' rate. I'll be right there." And he was, about 15 minutes later. Danny Weinstein is his name and he knows locks! He fixed my problem quickly by replacing the lock assembly from the inventory in his truck, and at 1/2 the cost of the other guy. However, that wasn't what impressed me the most. There was a minor cosmetic flaw in the knob of the new assembly. Danny said, "I'll be back in a few days to replace that." I thanked him, gave him his check, and didn't expect to see him again, in spite of what he said. I mean, he's been paid, the lock works fine, why would he come back for an insignificant minor cosmetic flaw? Well, call me a little too cynical for this craftsman! True to his word, in a few days I received a call from Danny asking if it would be convenient if he came out to replace the flawed knob in 30 minutes? I was quite impressed with the whole experience with Danny and want him to know, how much I appreciate his, old-world, commitment to his profession. The locksmith came to my home and didn't have the proper tools to rekey my locks. He disassembled my dead bolt and then left with my key without informing me he was leaving. I called and texted him several times trying to find out where he was, he abandoned the job. I called the company the next day and they said he tried to reach me and couldn't so he left. I did not have any calls from him in my call log and he also could have texted me as he did when he was on his way. To add insult to injury the company refused to come back and reassemble my dead bolt. I called on La Jolla Locksmith after two internal locks malfunctioned at my business in Rancho Bernardo. I called late in the afternoon, around 4pm and the locksmith offered to come out right away! Because I was leaving we scheduled the appointment for the next day. This company was contracted by our HOA to provide 24 hour camera surveillance. My motorcycle was moved between 4 and 9 pm on a Saturday. I asked for the footage and was told the cameras were down (by the company) and was told they were not down by the HOA. A few days later, my motorcycle ignition was ripped out and the steering column broke. During the time this happened, the camera company had been at the building and I was told all of this was being fixed. If so, there should have been camera footage from the 2nd time someone came in and damaged my bike. I texted Adrian who told me "technology doesn't always work". Would this be an acceptable 24 hour surveillance system for a fortune 500 company or a bank? No. But for an HOA (SHE Mangement - APSM Mgmt) - apparently the lowest bidder on this deal won and their philosophy is to 'not' provide any redundancy measures when equipment goes bad. The following shows chain of events of lies between the camera company and the HOA. Additionally, with 11 cameras on the premises - they still should have been able to get SOME footage of anyone heading toward my parking spots or parking near them. But nothing. So basically everyone in that condo got ripped off when the HOA bought this system. * 12 Dec 15 - Reported 1st incident. * 14 Dec 15 - Asked for ETA on issue. No response. * 16 Dec 15 - Camera Company came to site. Adrian from Camera Company told me Cameras on the lower lot were down. Email on 17th from HOA stating cameras were working. (See below). The cameras are not down and they are working and were working at the time your bike was moved. The cameras are not monitored and are only checked if there is an issue that calls for us to look at them. We check them once a month to make sure they are working and functional. We have never had them down unless repairs were needed. I tried to review the footage today but was unable to get it to play back on the date and times you gave me. I have called the company that works on them to help out with the issue. Please note that even if we see something we may not get a clear picture which is the case sometimes. Not sure where you got your information on the cameras but it was incorrect. He did say the HOA should be checking it for malfunctions. * 23 Dec 15 - It took from the 12th of Dec to the 23rd of Dec to get the information sent by HOA below. When a POE switch goes out - it should not affect the hard drive on where the information is being recorded. Also, the 8 channel switch was installed AFTER my motorcycle was almost stolen twice.
