I've been a fragrance enthusiast for over 20 years. I typically go to high end department stores to try fragrances but wanted a different experience. I visited La Jetee for the first time a few months ago. They have a great selection of niche fragrances. Natalia and Chantel really know their stuff and have always recommended the perfect fragrances for me. I really love the chill atmosphere and I always meet other enthusiasts every time I visit. The leather couches are a vibe! You can sit on a couch as long as you want while the fragrances dry down on your skin and meet new people while you wait. I literally have been in the store for hours some days - spraying, sniffing, and talking. Love this place! Highly recommend. read more

As a niche fragrance lover, I was THRILLED when I heard news of La Jetée opening. I have been twice and both experiences have been terrible. The employee is supposed to assist you personally, and there are no paper strips for you to be able to assist yourself with sampling. This would be fine, if not for the fact that both times I arrived there was someone already being assisted. The employee the first time looked at me like I was an utter annoyance. The second time, last week, the male employee (different person) looked so harried that he threw a stack of paper strips at me and said "whatever I'm having a weird day" because he wasn't supposed to do that but there were at least 4 other people in the shop. I don't dress to the nines when I've gone there, and I don't feel I should have to in order to be treated with respect. I don't plan on returning because I can buy the same products online. Such a shame, I wish they would improve their customer service. read more

This store is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I went here with no fragrance knowledge at all, only having been to department stores for fragrance. My mind was blown the first time I walked in and was quickly met with an amazing Sales Associate that helped me through their extensive collection of niche fragrances. My eyes were opened to a whole new world of fragrance that I never knew existed and It was life-changing. It sounds dramatic but It really did start a new passion of mines. They foster an inviting, chill, and intriguing ambiance. While I've explored the perfume scene in Europe, including Paris, this review is centered on the U.S., and La Jetée stands tall among its peers. Walking into the store, the decor itself is stunning--modern, warm, and inviting. The owner truly completes the experience. She's not only extremely knowledgeable but also genuinely friendly, creating a personalized experience from the moment you step in. My wife, son, and I visited together, and what made this visit memorable was the time and attention the owner gave, particularly to my son. Despite his young age, he's very passionate about fragrances, having taken a course in France and showing remarkable knowledge of brands, ingredients, and perfumery techniques. She treated him with so much respect and engaged him in conversations about scent profiles, perfume concentrations, and the industry itself. La Jetee is a beautiful store with a great range of luxurious fragrances. Unfortunately the hassle to receive my items has left me with a negative review. I came to the store for the first time on Nov 3. A wonderful employee helped me smell so many fragrances! He was kind, knowledgeable, and had me so excited for the two new fragrances I had picked out. Both were out of stock in the store, but I was told they would order them for me. Late November one of my items was at the store. I went in, but the sales associate could not find it so I left empty handed again. This was a miscommunication and not a big deal. After two unanswered emails on Dec 9 and Dec 13- and after 45 days without the items I purchased- I decided to dispute the charge on my card on Dec 18. Unfortunately for luxury items the costumer service and order fulfillment are anything but luxury. read more

My husband and I visited La Jetée Perfumery today to do some shopping and explore new fragrances. We've always had positive experiences at this store in the past, which is why today's visit was so disappointing. The store was busy, and I didn't expect undivided attention, but I felt completely overlooked by both the owner, Joey, and the other associate. While Joey focused exclusively on my husband, the other associate was helping a large group, and other customers that walked in, but didn't make any effort to check in with me either. Aside from the initial greeting when we walked in, no one asked if I needed assistance, if I was interested in anything, or if there was something specific I was looking for. In the past, both my husband and I have been equally acknowledged and assisted during our visits, which made today's experience feel particularly disheartening. By the time my husband brought up my interest, I felt it was too late to salvage the experience, and I had already decided not to make a purchase. I've always loved the products La Jetée carries, and the customer service has typically been excellent. I'm hoping this was just an off day, but being overlooked--especially by the owner--left a bad impression. If I had been able to test products on my own without relying on staff assistance, I might have been able to make a purchase. Weird vibes all around. I've been looking for an in person retailer to buy a perfume that I already know I love and Jetee is the only place in Orlando that's a retailer for it. Unfortunately when we walked into the store the owner was locking the doors because there was a Christmas festival outside and according to them those weren't the "type" of people they want in their store. We went in once during the summer too and the place smelled like mold which is not exactly helpful when smelling perfumes. We left immediately. It's a perfumery in Ivanhoe I don't what's so elite about it. A strange and uncomfortable experience. read more

Over all great shopping experience here with an awesome selection. We arrived when it was pretty busy and it did take 10 minutes for someone to help us (another customer who is a regular). Eventually an employee freed up and helped us. She was great! I totally understand the "no touching" policy but it's awkward just standing there waiting for help but then not being able to smell anything ourselves. Some type of middle ground would be nice. Very much agree with Eric's comments below. This place has a great selection of perfumes. In fact, they are the only place in central Florida to carry many of these brands. Having said that, their newer policy of telling customers not to handle testers is absurd. I'm a perfume collector with over 100 bottles in my home (probably not 100% healthy). I've purchased 7-8 bottles from La Jetee in the past three years. But at times, I come in the store and feel almost unwelcome. While it's often nice to interact with the employees and get a bit of direction, I don't need someone looking over my shoulder the whole time. I find it very irritating. And while the owners should seek to cultivate a certain clientele, this isn't the way to do it. A final thought - this is a beautiful store. My critique is only aimed at the way in which the store is operated. It's not a toy store, to be sure. But nor is it an art museum. Customers need flexibility regarding their ability to interact with these products, but the owners seem to think otherwise. My first few visits here were pretty joyful....more recently, they've become kinda joyless. read more

You are allowed to briefly look at the pretty bottles and if you are deemed worthy you may politely ask a store associate to spray the perfume on a piece of paper for you to smell. Under no circumstances are you allowed to touch any of the testers. Staring intensely for longer than five seconds is also discouraged in most circumstances. You may or may not be allowed to repeat this process until you find something you like. This place is more of a lounge than a functioning store. On a more positive note, this place makes shopping at Bloomingdale's bearable. read more

My husband and I drove two hours to visit La Jetée today to check out some of the fragrances on our "to sample" list. The store is lovely and we were helped by two amazing scent experts, Alexandra and Claire, who were both so knowledgeable and passionate about fragrance. They were patient with us as we checked off our list one by one and they also took the time to suggest other fragrances we might like based on our interests, which were spot on. We each discovered new favorites thanks to their suggestions! We spent about 2 hours in the store and left with four bottles... a very successful and enjoyable trip. We will definitely be back soon! First of all, this store receiving any type of a one star review is laughable at best. To the owner who stood up for himself: thank God for people like you! I went to the store for the first time today and was floored-overwhelmed-over-the-moon in love. Your sales person (beautiful, short blonde hair, accent) was so helpful. I appreciate the direction after telling her what I typically go for in a fragrance, and while also listening to what I don't like, she still steered me in different directions because she KNOWS HER SH1T. I literally loved everything she picked out, which also makes it tough! Great store to discover new niche fragrances. I also posted this review on Google. During my recent visit to the Green Hills Mall in Nashville, TN, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of niche fragrances they offered. They had brands that I had never even heard of before. I've noticed some complaints about the inability to test the fragrances, but I think it's important to be realistic. Just like you wouldn't test drive a BMW without a salesperson present, or pick up designer handbags at Louis Vuitton without assistance, it's understandable that certain fragrances wouldn't be available for open testing. The sales assistant at the store was very helpful and chose fragrances for me to experience based on my preferences. The delicate glass bottles also make sense to protect, considering their value. I had a great experience at the store and will be returning to purchase Lira from Casamorati, which was suggested to me by the helpful sales lady, Akeera. Thank you! read more

This place used to be amazing, until... they enacted this police that you can not touch the bottles because people would drop them... so now someone has to follow you around. Which is the exact experience people hate when going to a department store. They have a great collection of fragrances, it's a shame that you can not go in and casually browse. If I could give zero stars I would. Had an issue with some perfume samples I ordered online. La Jetee sent me a mixture of carded samples and decants with tacky labels instead. Not a big issue to fix by the shop but when I tried to resolve it the owner was evasive about responding by email and insisted on discussing it by phone. This dragged on for several weeks. It became apparent later that he did not want a written record of our conversation. Eventually I called and had a very unpleasant exchange where I had to deal with the very rude, insulting and loud owner who clearly does not care about customer service. He claimed that it was illegal to sell samples and that's why he sent me a mixture of decants and samples (try to figure out that logic) and that he is justified in calling decants as samples on his website because they are one and the same. This is from a man who claimed he's been in the business 15 years yet doesn't know the difference between decants and genuine manufacturer samples. My return shipment to the store could not be delivered by the post office and he instructed me to ship it to his home. His staff had instructed me by email to return the order to exchange it yet on the phone he said he never accepts returned samples. The price of the whole transaction is not the issue. The owner clearly has no integrity, is unprofessional and I would advise people to avoid this shop so you don't have to go through the very aggravating experience I had. read more
