We came for dinner. Here are my notes Tortilla Chips - Its nice and crispy. The salsa tastes fresh. Very nice starter 8/10 Horchata Agua Fresca is delish. Id definitely get this again if given the chance 9/10 Tacos * Al Pastor - The pork js wonderfully seasoned. Its very nicely cooked as well. Still juicy. A bit more onions and cilantro would've been a good 9.5, but it's a total 8.5/10 * Vegan - its very bean forward. I do enjoy the rounded texture and taste of the lettuce and tomatoes. Its a solid vegetarian taco. 9/10 Torta * Carne Asada - Telera bread has great texture, the carne asada is hitting. The flavors are nice and vibrant. 8.7/10 Don't sleep on that Peanut Sauce. This was a wonderful condiment that I feel I need to mention. This supporting actor can get a 10/10 The place was clean and super nice. Service is very attentive. I've passed this place a lot, but was not aware that it was a Mexican restaurant. It's a small but cozy restaurant. I went around 1 PM shortly after lunch. There were not a lot of people there, maybe a few others, but the service was quite slow. They only had one waitress that was also the hostess and worked carry out as well. She was nice and friendly, did not give us a hard time at all. It did take a while for our food to come out, but in the meantime, they gave us chips and salsa with a side of different salsas to try. I loved the green avocado salsa. (Bought a large one to-go) The complementary tacos were delicious! I ordered the chicken and steak. Both were well seasoned and delicious. We did order two entrées, one was the chicken chimichanga and the other was chicken enchiladas. Also I ordered a classic margarita. They give you nice size portions of food. The chicken chimichanga was good, chicken enchiladas were a little bland. Overall, great experience and I'm glad I was able to try a new place. Walking into this place you are welcomed right away. Someone greets you and either asked you how they could help you. Service like that is very nice and something you want in a business. We were directed to sit where ever we wanted. At the time, there was no one else there. After we sat down, other customers came in for take out. Our waiter came right away with menus and some chips and salsa. My husband and I got some tacos and a torta. They have a full bar as well which is nice. The food was good. I got a shrimp taco and a chorizo taco. The torta my husband and I shared was carne Asada. The food came out pretty fast and the waiter was very attentive. He answered all out questions. The food was pretty good and the peanut sauce was amazing. Never had that kind of sauce to put with our food. Overall, the place look good, the service was excellent and the food was good. read more

La Jali in Taylor is quite the find! The staff are warm and friendly, and the space looks great, with colorful papel picado hung all around - excellent vibe! The horchata is fantastic. It tastes like the kind someone makes at home, with that "liquid rice pudding" comfort that took me straight back to childhood. The corn tortilla tacos were spot on. The vegetarian option was an unexpected favorite, and the birria and carne asada were both tender, well seasoned, and cooked just right. Portions were generous without feeling heavy. The chicken burrito was another standout. It stayed light and fluffy instead of turning into the usual dense brick. The rice, beans, chicken, lettuce, and other fillings were in good balance, so every bite felt even and you could actually taste each component. They were out of tripas, which stung a bit since it is rare to see that on a menu in southeast Michigan. That alone gives me a built-in reason to come back though! All in all, La Jali could easily hold its own against spots in Mexicantown. Taylor is very lucky to have this place! read more

We stopped in on a Saturday just after the lunch rush and had a fantastic experience! The restaurant was very clean, and there were only a few other tables, so it felt nice and relaxed. I tried the chicken and steak street tacos along with an horchata--both were delicious! My daughter loved her chicken quesadilla, and I also ordered a birria burrito. The burrito was packed with mozzarella, lettuce, guacamole, beans, and rice. A great touch was that both entrees came with a side of grilled onion and jalapeño. Don't skip the chips and salsa, either! Beyond the food, I was impressed by the facility. The women's restroom was huge and extraordinarily clean. They also have a cute shop area selling snacks, hats, a tortilla press, and other authentic items. If we lived closer, this would be our regular spot. We will definitely be back soon! read more

We came to try this spot out for lunch. It was incredible. It made me a bit sad that this place was not busy. Let's fill their tables up. The service was on point, the food was awesome, and everything was so clean and inviting. My kid, who typically is not a fan of Mexican food actually asked to go back. My wife and I tried the carne asada, chorizo and chicken tacos, which were all great. I ordered the Bisteka Bandera which is a spicy steak with jalapeños. My wife got a Birria burrito that was huge and tasty. My kid had a quesadilla with their chicken. Please support this small business. They need love and more recognition. Ive been on a quest to find good Mexican food down river and this was some of the worst Mexican I've had in years. My mother and my fiancé also didn't finish their meals. The queso tasted like GFS yellow nacho cheese from a can mixed with velveeta. The tables were also very difficult to sit around as the tables were not built for booths. Service was sparse. read more

The food was good.they have a huge menu with so many options to choose from. The dining room is not very big and the poor waitress was running around so much trying to keep up with her tables she had. She was all by herself. There also was only one cook. To have the yelp event and to only have that little staff was shooking to me I rsvp for the event but never got chosen but went anyways because I love Mexican food and support local restaurants. We were able to dine in at La Jali on their ribbon cutting ceremony day! Let me first start off by stating we are very happy La Jali were able to open a location downriver Detroit. The quaint establishment was packed, but we were able to find a table when we arrived on a Friday night. The margaritas we started with were so tasty, they brought me back to Mexico immediately. I made sure to sip on a second one before we shoved off for the night. ;) We chose the tacos; chicken, steak, carnitas. Every single one was out of this world delicious. The carnitas being a fan favorite. The tacos are normal street taco size, not packed to the gills to accommodate the American diner. Be sure to order an extra one! They are so yummy, you will definitely be able to squeeze one more in. The rice was another favorite. Authentic pottery and trinkets for sale at very reasonable prices. Clean, roomy, beautiful restrooms. They serve halal meats. The mocktail selection was insane!!! ACTUALLY interesting, flavorful, genuine Mexican options. The mocktail menu was very well thought out and I LOVE that. Cannot wait to go back to try them. Taco Tuesday has $1.50 street tacos from 11-6PM. Food was tasty-- more on the plain side, not overly spiced. Very accessible. Toppings were generous like cheese and pico de gallo. If I could write a review that was 6 stars, I would. Atmosphere: The interior of the restaurant was extremely clean and comfortable. You can tell the staff has pride in how they present this location. The building is small and old but has been very well taken care of. The decor is outstanding and the seating is great. The bar seating looks inviting however the seats appear to be too low for the height of the bar counter (small matter). I love the size of the interior, this is a perfect spot to go with friends or to have a date night. Food: Exceptional! This is one of the only Mexican restaurants in the area that we have been to that offers all the options for protein (usually missing is Al Pastor which this place has). I ordered tacos with carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas. I don't like raw onions but the chef was more than willing to provide me with grilled onions which was above and beyond what most restaurants will offer. The flavor was excellent on all the tacos. The marinade for all the meats had a lot of flavor which was enhanced by the addition of squeezing a lime on each of the three tacos. The Al Pastor taco was by far my favorite which the other places we went to in the area did not offer. With the standard chips and salsa, I requested a side of guacamole. The guacamole was also flavorful, you could taste the hint of lime and the richness of the cilantro. They offer fancy versions of churros for desert (stuffed) however, I asked for a plain churro as this is one of my favorite deserts. I have to admit that having lived in San Diego which is right next to Tijuana, the best churro I have ever had came from a street vendor while I was there. I have never found one as good as the one I had from that street vendor and unfortunately, the churro here was meh...(no big deal, it was still good). With my meal I had a beer and my wife had horchata. She said the horchata was excellent and my meal went even better with a Modelo beer. Service: Excellent. The woman who helped us was very friendly and her demeanor demonstrated that she had pride in the food, location and service that this restaurant offers. The service alone was worth 5 stars but the food was also matching the service in star level. Overall: So far this is the best Mexican restaurant that we have gone to in this area. The interior and the service offered, made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was also excellent and rich with flavor. Ordering tacos is great because the taste was great and the price did not break the bank. I highly recommend this restaurant because you will get a quality meal, exceptional service and you will enjoy sitting there and hanging out. read more

ordered a carry out from a very friendly hostess. she explained the menu and gave me her opinions. even let me sample the salsa. i ordered 2 carne asada corn tacos with lettuce tomato and guacamole. the tacos were very tasty and the steak tender. i had had mex food for quite a while but i think ill be having it more often now. my 2 tacos came to $8, which i feel is a fair price for some lunch. btw, the restaurant is very cute... decorated with mex style furnishings. i probably come back with my grandkids and eat inside. read more

Every thing on menu 50 percent higher than other near by restaurants. They paying for hundreds of Fake 5 star reviews around the web, both Google and Yelp take a look. Food bland, chicken had alot of gristle. Tacos and burritos don't come with beans and rice. Ordered soft shell with cheese and got corn shell with no cheese. Ordered a side of sour cream and got an extremely small side and was charged 2 dollars! The atmosphere was good and our server was very kind. Not sure if we will return. read more

They have two locations with two different menus I guess and a mystery third menu on the website which is apparently not for either? Stopped in after driving by. Small, cute and cozy. Chips looked oily but were crispy and delicious. Good salsa. Good menu selections. I got my go-to which is a botana. Every place makes them different. Huge portion with shredded chicken. I could only eat about a fifth. Husband got Picanha, steak with beans, rice and jalapeño and thought it was very good. My margarita was remarkable and I was told it was made with fresh juice. Fresh is a good description of this restaurant. Tanya checked on us a few times and described some drinks on the menu. I felt she really cared if we had everything we needed. Joseph was our cute, friendly server. There were Mexican treats and snacks and homemade tamales for sale on the way out. My wife and I had lunch here today. I hadn't noticed the place before, but I'm not on that stretch of Telegraph often anymore. Clean, decorated nicely, with a small stand of Mexican sodas and snacks near the register. The service was rewinds and attentive, made sure to check on our satisfaction. Started with hot fresh chips and very good salsa. I had Chiles Rellenos, and my wife had chimichangas, both were great. I also had a couple of delicious Palomar with tajin rim. This is a new restaurant from the same family who have a great market and restaurant in Mexicantown. The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent in my first visit to the Taylor location. I like the decor and music but the food was the highlight. I ordered carne asada tacos and quesadilla and they arrived promptly and were so authentic and good that I returned the next day and ordered the same thing to go. Even with the street construction going on in front of the place it's worth the extra effort to get there. read more

I really wanted this place to be good, we need a good Mexican restaurant around here. I've been to this restaurant twice, both times I ordered the steak fajitas, both times the steak was nothing but a bunch of brine and fat, needless to say, I will never go back, that cook either does not know what he's doing or he doesn't care, as far as the customer service all the girls were great, when they advertise a new cook, I will go back until then. I think they will go out of business, I hardly see any cars there anymore. This restaurant recently opened in May 2025 so my fiancé and I decided to try it out. The delicious food and quality service we received prompted us to return back.
