The host YELLED to the waitress across the room that she had another table. That form of communication seemed to be the norm as staff frequently shouted across the room to each other, Our wait staff and bus boy were very efficient and removed dishes and refilled drinks. The food was a mixed bag. The soup and salad bar were excellent. Lots of choices and well stocked. The "hot" food was in two large steam tables. One contained mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans and shrimp alfredo. All of the food in this section was cold. The other section had fried cod, fried catfish, crab cakes, fried shrimp and fried chicken. These selections were warm, but dry and a bit rubbery. It was nice to see so many diners seemed to be regulars, but it isn't for us.

It's a large beautiful (I would like to say historic) venue that has a large dance floor, plenty of seating, huge bar, stage where Live Music or DJ can perform, private dressing room with a small bathroom, and a full-size commercial kitchen to rent if you want to provide food or bring in a caterer. There is a parking lot in the back, as well as across the street, and street parking. The owner has security patrolling the parking lots the entire night. Our guests have never had a problem. They only provide rental space, bartenders, and a few servers/waitresses, you have to provide/hire your own vendors (caterers, DJ, decorations, etc.). In being an Event Planner for the past 30+ years from Corporate to Community events, as with all Service-based businesses, you're going to always have a rotating door when it comes to customer service. It's part of the game. It's hard to find good help these days. My personal experience, as well as my experience in attending other events hosted there, has always been great. I know other event promoters who have also been hosting their events here for awhile, so if it was that bad, we wouldn't still be here. The owner does an excellent job in doing his best to stay on top of it. So when you read other poor reviews, create your own opinion based on your own experience like we did. Otherwise you just might miss out on a GREAT experience!

We had the VIP space upstairs which was great. My son had the absolute best time here and everyone enjoyed themselves. Kids enjoyed the arcade and outdoor attractions. The party room offered a nice atmosphere. Only negative was- They need to increase on air-conditioning circulation in the space could have been better. There are slot machines too. Every Friday at the Quarry, there's, jazz and beautiful food and drinks for grown folks. I walked in and was utterly surprised the tables need to be thrown away and rebought. The 6 foot serving tables were not sturdy at all. And the tables where the guest sat were horrible. Thank my lucky stars I brought my own black table clothes. The place was HOT. They claimed to have had the air on but it was an 85 degree day and cooler outside then in there. The shared kitchen was ok. But the freezer is full of old food. The manger was abit rude and unprofessional as someone parked by the door and we advised her we would have them move. She advised they could park in the parking lot she would open it as a courtesy but it's normally $75 an hour to park there . She also made mention that the shared kitchen was $25 a hour. After she was done with her ranting. I mention to her that those items were included in our contract. She paused and recanted her statement. I totally understand what they are doing in this neighborhood and I commend them for it. However, the hourly price they are charging does not match up with the space. I'm hoping they continue to work on this location and improve it! Very disappointed with my experience at this venue in Calumet Park. After my event, I was told my…read moredeposit wouldn't be returned due to "shoe prints on the walls." I asked for photo proof--none was provided. My family and I cleaned thoroughly, and no one noticed any such issue. I even offered to meet at the venue to inspect the space, and that was ignored. The owner also mentioned police presence outside due to teens waiting on rides--calling it "loitering"--but even stated a fine was avoided. That shouldn't be tied to my deposit at all. When the police weren't actually called to the venue itself. The reason for withholding it, according to their own message, was just the alleged footprints, which they refused to prove. I reviewed the contract and followed all cleaning policies. This feels like a poor excuse to keep my deposit without cause. Renters, protect yourselves--take photos before and after, get everything in writing, and be cautious with this space.

I am not a HUGE Fleetwood Mac fan but I do like some of their music. I was there for her and the pizza! My only gripe is the price on the drinks and the volume of those drinks. My fiancé bought drinks this time and each drink was from $13 to $18 depending upon the drink. The glasses? They were those small glasses you would have in your kitchen cabinets. I was not impressed, even further unimpressed when she told me what she paid for them. I can see $6 to $9, but double that? For half the volume? We may come here again in the future, but I am bringing a flask with me next time out of principal.
