I went to try out their burrito , didn't have cash ( it's usually cash only ) they have an ATM. Definitely a hidden gem. I order the chilaquiles red or green both are the bomb. This are so good I drive from the north side to get these delicious chilaquiles with carne asada and a side of guaca salsa. The secret is that for awhile they were not on the menu. Wow, this place is the perfect restaurant for me. An absolutely no-frills hole in the wall. Super clean and taking covid precautions seriously. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and gave some of the best service I have ever had in a restaurant anywhere. The real star is the food though-- seriously, the tacos al pastor brought tears to my eyes. The sauce on the pork was so flavorful and everything was super fresh and hot. It came with free chips that seemed like they were just made and accompanied with the best salsa. I'm getting hungry just writing this review. I need to go back this weekend! read more

Wasn't expecting for this restaurant to be that good based off of what the front of the restaurant looks like, but never judge a book by its covers. La Iguanita is probably my favorite go-to taco spots. Food is always fresh out of the grill. The service is always amazing and kind. Don't get me started on the guacamole salsa, it's delicious. I've only seen guacamole salsa in restaurants in Mexico and that's what makes this place standout is that I feel like I'm getting a home cooked meal every time I eat here. Good fresh steak , tomatoes, and beans. The burrito was filling just what I needed. The punch is natural and quenched my thirst without too much sugar. The green sauce has lots of flavor surprisingly most places too watered down. Came in for 4 steak tacos for myself. Ordered and then I see the guy take out some fresh steaks and threw em right on the grill. Made fresh to order. I gotta say, these are probably the best carne asada tacos in the city. 4 tacos were gone in minutes. I had to ask for a second avacado salsa. Creamy, spicy, delicious. I highly recommend this place. If your looking for the BEST tacos in Chicago, you are in the right place! La Iguanita is a small restaurant in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood. Its not a nice looking place by any means and if you'r not looking for its easy to miss. Parking is bad and its usually is packed with truckers but its worth the wait. I recommend to go a little after 11am in order to find parking and a table, for this small restaurant only consist of 6 tables. My favorite are tacos de arrachera the meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Los tacos de tripa are another of my personal favorites, also don't forget to top it all of with their salsa verde, which is fantastic. read more

I've worked in the Brighton Park area for a number of years and have tried every Mexican place around. This is by far the best quality tasting burrito in the area hands down. A couple thing's to note. Cash only, atm inside. Parking is on north side of building. No habla English or very little. It's pricey as hell about $10.50 + tax for a burrito. This place is the best. If u are looking for freshly made Mexican food you've come to the right place! They were very friendly and took special requests. They have quality food that will make you drive for miles just to have it again. The asada tacos are fantastic and the tortas are amazing. But every thing is good here. I've had it all! They have agua de horchata and Jamaica too. But remember to bring cash, it's cash only! They also have the special guacamole salsa that that comes with the crunchy and savory chips and the combination is out of this world! The chips are made at the restaurant fresh everyday. If you go on the weekend you will be able to get delicious menudo too!! I work nearby and based on the reviews I had to give this place a try. When they say hole in the wall, they really mean hole in the wall. But don't get fooled by the looks of this place, it is really quite great. The servers were nice, i got my food in a timely matter and what I got was delicious. The meal came free with chips and three different kinds of dips which really surprised me since I usually only get one maybe two from restaurants when I dine in there. I actually had to ask what once was and I thought I'd be pretty familiar with those kind of dips. My only complaint about the burrito that I got is that the food was so fresh that was too hot to eat right away and I had to wait longer than normal to eat it but that's hardly a complaint compared to how it tasted. Only downfall I can see is that is cash only but that's to be expected from a place like this. If you get the chance I recommend trying this place out it is worth it. read more
