The matcha cold foam is super thick and has a rich, bold green tea flavor that doesn't taste watered down at all. I drank it layered first to get the fruit and foam separately, then stirred it together into a creamy strawberry matcha blend, it went down way too fast! I had the pina colada matcha over at their 400 S Tryon spot which was super refreshing, but this strawberry matcha definitely is the winner for me. Super cute interior here with plenty of seating to chill for a bit, too. The owner was wearing the panda head behind the counter and was so welcoming, he was cracking me up rapidly reading off the whole menu to help another customer decide what to order. I decided on the banana pudding (hot) which wasn't on the menu but came highly recommended by the barista. Price point was rather high for this one clocking in at $8 and some change. I chose to signup for their awards program and gained 9 points. Will be in town for a week and may acquire enough points - 18 to get a free one. The hot servings come in 12 and 16 once sizes and the cold versions offers up to 24 oz.. The banana pudding itself was pretty good overall and I would be interested trying some of the other unique flavors. There are also various flavored coffees m, loose tea and pastries also available. It was a Saturday morning, I was anticipating a super crowded/busy place but the morning ended up being super sleepy. I brought a laptop to work on travel planning as my "craft." Super easy to park, connect to wifi and grab snacks and coffee from the wonderful barista. For a while, it was me, the barista, another gentleman (working solo) and two ladies catching up in one of the many tables to catch up at. When my friends arrived, we were able to push two tables together to have enough chairs and table space since people brought diamond paintings, cross stitch, and coloring workbooks to work on. It was a lovely time. A group of ladies did come in later and started playing mah jong. Toward the end of our meetup, folks were coming in with flowers, dresses, and tuxedos in preparation for a wedding happening later that day. Overall a great place to meetup. There's a nice group/conference room that looks like it could be reserved for larger parties, but most of the tables were for two people... three 4-tops and then a couple of other tables with more lounge chairs (for groups of 4). I have an older laptop so I'm stuck looking for power, there were a couple tables situated close to outlets and then a large wrap around bar in the center that I spied a few outlets but not all the seating had access to power.

They are a small shop offering coffee, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and lunch items as well. I have only been in for lunch a couple of times, but I have gotten to try their chicken pesto, and their turkey Swiss sandwiches and I was very impressed with both! They come on ciabatta bread and container generous portions of meat. I also got to try their mixed berry smoothie the other day and it was quite good and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly both times I went in. They have all the makings to be a staple. Their menu is a bit small right now which is to be expected for a new place. I think they should add some more sandwiches and wraps to their lunch menu and maybe try some more bold and standout sandwiches to set them apart. For the time being though their menu might be small but their sandwiches are good so I highly recommend giving them a try.

They also sell Madeleine cookies, of course, though we didn't get any. The service was given with genuine smiles. The prices were normal - not a deal but not over-the-top. With the price of specialty lattes these days, I personally love when coffee shops put a little extra effort into creating homemade syrups or unique flavors that make their drinks stand out. During my Google search I discover My Story Cafe through an article about the owners journey. Being a Caribbean girl myself, I had to go support this Trinidadian, Black, Woman owned business. So I decided I'd use my morning walk which ended up being about 3/4 of a mile to walk to My Story from my hotel. Thankfully it was a nice walk as it wasn't too hot while I was there. My first two days I ordered the an iced French toast latte. The third day I ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee as Ms Jacqueline's recommendation. I was skeptical as I've previously had Vietnamese iced coffees that were overly sweet but hers was velvety, smooth, and balanced. I understood the hype but I info recommend the French toast latte as well! Ms Jacqueline and I connected over those three days, we shared laughs, talked community and our beloved islands as well as all things food! I got to see first hand her connection with locals, the way she builds community and works hard as just one person running the show. We're family now, and anytime I'm Back in Charlotte my first stop will be to go visit my new auntie! Be patient, she gets busy. But the coffee and conversation is worth it. Prices are high, almost $12 for my drink ... similar to other boba/tea stores unfortunately. I'd return and try the teas. The inside is very nicely decorated with a few seats as well.
