It is so refreshing to find a restaurant with plenty of free parking and no need to pay valet…read moreparking tips. My food choices were the pizza Terzo Cerchio, and to take home, eggplant parmigiana and lasagna bolognese (see note below on take out choices). I would rate this pizza highly. The person making them, obviously not Italian, but well trained, resulting in a quality pizza. The Roman variant, pinsa, also available. Introduction of rice flour and soy flour with the wheat flour resulting in a more digestible dough. Many entree specials not seen elsewhere. Service, great. Ambiance, great. Based on my experience with the lasagna and the eggplant, I cannot recommend these as take out items that one would refrigerate and have a day or so later. Neither held up to second day consumption and were thrown out. These dishes should be considered for consumption at the restaurant, straight out of the kitchen while still hot. Melanzane parmigiana is not a dish from Parma. It is southern and a toss up on originating in Napoli, Calabria or Sicilia. The name likely derives from the Sicilian word parmiciana, referring to the wooden slats of shutters, mirroring the layered structure of the eggplant. But there are other theories.

Although Davanti comes across as casual, there is a certain refinement that even some higher-end Italian places lack -- for instance, recommending how to eat a particular pasta dish or swapping out silverware without being asked. Food-wise, it was quite good. My husband described it as unique. We all loved the octopus appetizer. The Caesar, however, was bland -- skip it. They had a lasagna special that was cheesy, creamy, and smooth. It would be easy for such a decadent pasta dish to feel overwrought, but it was delightfully rich without crossing that line. My mother-in-law ordered a pasta with shrimp that was one note and forgettable. We all enjoyed the prosciutto pizza, though it wasn't the best I've ever had -- but that's likely because I prefer a tangier sauce, and this one leans more subtle.

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole ambiance is peaceful and calm -- a nice break from the usual lunch rush. On this visit, I tried the daily soup, a white bean, and it was so tasty, especially paired with the hot toasted bread. Another great experience, and I'll definitely be back.

For starters, the bread and the fresh herbs and olive oil was probably the best part of the meal. You can tell that they use quality oil and herbs for this, which really sets it apart from other restaurants. I was unimpressed by the basal, garlic and tomatoes pasta as it was quite watery and not very flavorful. The crawfish ravioli was a much better entree as the sauce was flavorful and thick and made nicely. The crab cakes that we ordered for appetizers were a nice touch. We've been getting the mousse cake for years and again, it did not disappoint. The service was okay. We felt pretty rushed by our waiter throughout the meal. It also sounded like the kitchen was behind on this night so definitely have some understanding there. But overall, a great family environment! Will be back!

Suffice to say, we have this on our go back and keep trying the dishes list. Everything was excellent. Emilio, our server was great, the restaurant itself is open but cozy, and they dimmed the lighting as the sun went down and it was really nice. Our glasses stayed full, and the food was amazing. We got the mushroom pastry thing from the appetizers - perfection. The pastry itself was a knockout but the "sauce" was *chefs kiss*. It's something I already desperately want to recreate at home but know it won't get there, c'est la vie. Anyways, the specials sounded amazing but we settled for giving the regular menu a whirl. He had the seafood lasagna and I had the chicken piccata. Both were excellent. Their chicken piccata take is better than the standard version - highly recommend. Hubs said the lasagna was great too. All in all, we loved everything, can't wait to go back. I'd also rate Mia Bella extremely high on value - for service, food quality, and portion size they're very reasonable on cost.

I was meeting a former colleague for lunch and he recommended this place. He'd apparently had many meetings here before, and I can see why. Service was absolutely top notch, and the meal itself was amazing. For being in the bustling Galleria area, this location is a bit tucked away, creating a more quiet and intimate atmosphere despite a relatively small dining room. Of course, that may have just been the case since it was lunch time and the restaurant wasn't busy. I skimmed the lunch specials and went with the pork chop, which was accompanied by broccoli and mashed potatoes, as well as a salad. The Ceasar salad was good, but forgettable. I've had better at several other places, including one of Carrabba's other locations. The pork chop was perfectly grilled, and despite just being one ~8oz piece, was the right amount of filling with the sides that I went back to work feeling full but not so much that I felt lethargic. I'm looking forward to coming back here, specifically to bring my wife for a date.

Their food is really good and we really wanted to have hot food but since we had to pick it up, by the time we sat down to eat, some of the flavor has been lost. It was still delicious however! The service was outstanding- considering they were cooking for 200 people on another order. They were able to get our order ready and on time for pickup. I'd really like to eat at their location because the food is excellent! Hopefully, the next time we get hungry for Italian food, we can go there. That will be a treat!
