First to review! Winning :)
So if you head into the center of old Amstelveen on a Saturday morning after cycling 25 kms you will find there are not many options for a coffee. Luckily La Gare was open. It was moderately busy and relatively quiet when we entered, then two very loud tables entered along with kids who did laps around the cafe - not the cafe's fault, but not pleasant either way! Anyways, back to the food and drink. The coffees were very good, and the food, once it came (there was a bit of a mishap in communicating the order to the chef, we were told), was okay. Pretty standard Dutch fare. They apologized massively for the delay with the food and offered us free coffees. The free coffees plus the departure of the old tables and running children were very welcomed. Don't seek it out but if you're in the neighborhood and need to make a pit stop, go for it. read more
