I had the Picadillo and Eggs and this was great - well spiced ground beef with a side of eggs, this arrived with potatoes and tortillas. HAIR IN OUR FOOD As a Yelp Elite Member, I take my reviews seriously and always aim to be fair. I don't like giving bad reviews, but this experience left me disgusted and disappointed. The food was good, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. We even packed up leftovers to take home. But just as we were finishing, my grandson's mother noticed a thick, coarse hair on his plate. Finding a hair in food is always stomach-turning, but discovering it after I had already eaten made it worse. It made me wonder: What else did I miss? I showed the hair to our server, who immediately removed the plate--and to be fair, I could tell the hair wasn't from her. The issue was how management handled it: a 10% discount and zero real concern. No apology from a manager, no real effort to make it right--just a small discount and moving on. That response left a bad taste in my mouth. Had it not been for the hair, I would have rated this place 4 stars. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was casual, and the food was enjoyable. But the way this was handled knocked my rating down to 2 stars. We were so put off that, even though our leftovers were packed and ready to go, we left them behind. I debated between 1 and 2 stars but settled on 2 because the food itself was good. That said, this experience made it impossible to recommend this place. read more

The menudo was really good. It had good flavor and the portion was great. It only comes with Hominy, which is a negative if you're diabetic or watching your carbs, but great if you're not. The bolillo bread was fresh and toasted well with butter. It was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Overall, it was a great way to start the morning. read more

On our trip to Vegas we stayed the night in Roswell and this place had some of the best food on our entire trip. The burrito smothered in salsa is amazing! I did it half green salsa and half red salsa and it was to die for. It was also like the size of my forearm and I could barely finish half of it without exploding. We were traveling through Roswell on a Sunday afternoon. The place that we usually stop for lunch was closed, looked on Yelp and found this place. It was highly rated so we decided to try it. Wow. Our meal was incredible. I had the stuffed Sopapilla with ground beef and my wife had a taco plate. We now have a new favorite New Mexican restaurant. Stopped here for lunch while driving through town. GPS didn't exactly find it but we figured out where it was. Parking lot was fairly crowded as was the inside when we came in. We were able to sit down immediately and it didn't take long to order. The menu has a decent selection of breakfast and lunch items. The pancakes coming out of the kitchen looked good. To be fair, everything coming out of the kitchen looked good. I got the breakfast burrito which is a pick your ingredients type of thing and my son got Steak Picado. We liked both dishes very much but warning if you get long green chile - it was on the border of nice heat level vs a bit over the top. The steak mix also came with rice and beans which were ok. The burrito came wet. If I get it again I will pick extra cheese but for the price it is a great value. Chips and salsa were very good, coffee was decent. No complaints at all on the food. It was delicious! Even though they were busy I thought our waiter did a great job. No long waits for refills and he answered all of our questions with informative answers. Great food, great service, this place was operating on all cylinders this day. Well done indeed. read more

OMG!!! Wonderful service, great food & even the customers there were so friendly! A testament to this restaurant; as soon as we walked in, unsolicited, a local gal says, "This is the BEST restaurant in town!" Don't let the exterior fool you as it is pretty plain & not fancy, but we wanted a down-to-earth place to have breakfast. The majority of the menu is just that: BREAKFAST SERVED ALL DAY. We arrived at 1pm. We met the Chef/Owner of 20 years, Hacinto, who was very friendly greeted us outside at the door. Ivonne, our server was also very attentive & served us with FREE chips & salsa served immediately (after 11am) so we were very happy. They were super busy, understandably because of their popularity & we still got our food in a timely manner. Hubby wanted breakfast, I wanted lunch. Both wishes granted like magic . As we went to pay for our brunch, we mentioned to the cashier, Marta that we enjoyed the friendly service & good atmosphere. She had the biggest smile & proceeded to tell us with pride that "all the employees started early (6am) and as busy as it is, everyone still manages to always have a good attitude." I have been to several Mexican food restaurants in Roswell and they were good but nothing to write Yelp about. But this place was the exception! It is a small little place on Hwy 380 as you go through town. You probably wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it. But I can see why it rates the 5 stars! The waitresses were friendly and quick with the salsa and chips. I wanted to sample a little of everything, so I ordered the combination plate. Oh my word at the food! And all of it wonderful! It came with a chili relleno, beef enchilada, crispy beef taco, flauta, and a chalupa, along with refried beans, rice and guacamole. I have included a picture because as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words! I would have gone back for dinner but unfortunately they close at 3pm. My waitress kept my water glass full and the salsa bowl full as well. And I can put away salsa! I will certainly be back the next time we are in Roswell. We were a little concerned walking into this small restaurant. It's off Main Street so it's more of "where the locals go". It was almost 2:00 and several minutes after we sat down the entire place filled up! The waitress was extremely nice and there were plenty of options on the menu. We were shocked when we got our food. The plates were huge and the food was amazing! We are from Texas so this wasn't typical Tex-mex food. Somehow it was even better!!!!
